Any site that has social interactions between people should have a block/ignore feature it's that simple really.

I support the suggestion; especially with Bourkey's suggestion.

Most of us are very patient people. >u> Cause pokemon is totally frustrating by itself sometimes. But there's a limit to patience. Even if it's because you don't speak the same language, aren't the same age or anything like that. If they're being rude or spammy, you tell them to stop or try to talk it out. They don't always stop. Shit happens, I understand. Say you see someone bashing on gays (Not saying I do, just using the biggest example) on everything in their signature, page, and posts. You don't want to see that, especially if they're RUDE on top of that.

Honestly, I don't like going on my friendlist and seeing people adding me without my consent. Hell, I'd like to be able to reject people adding me to their friendlist and would rather them just 'follow' me like in tumblr and facebook. I mean, honestly, I'd like to talk before you add me. And if you add me just to post spammy or mean things on my feed or my things, I should be able to block them.

I'm nice, or I'd like to think I am. I'm usually patient, but there is a point where you just have to say I can't deal anymore. This person upsets me because they won't listen and use their age or their newness as an excuse to bother you to the point of just no. I think it's kinda rude to ask a question on someone's feed when it's a totally different topic. I think it's rude to have to repeat yourself 3-10 times to someone and they act like you didn't respond. I think it's abusing a user. There's even users who post I hate you to people when they've done nothing wrong but said no or reputed their point.

Anyways, I support the ability to block people because it's a right. It's like how you can get a restraining order on someone if they get that bad. There is a point where things are that bad. People change though which is why I like bourkey's idea. Who knows, maybe that kid who's rude and mean can do a 180 because of something in their lives. But I believe you should be able to block people. If it's just cause you don't like them, that's your opinion and right. Ignoring doesn't help, you still read it because it's there. You could not report someone and nothing happens. Blocking is nice.

Support!

But instead of Block List, can it be Ignored List? Block List just doesn't seem right :|

Book: I used the term block list because it's more you're blocking them from contacting you. Blocking their PMs. Blocking their ability to friend you. Blocking their ability to post on your feeds. Blocking their feeds from showing up.

It's not you ignoring these things, it's actually preventing them from happening. That's the reason I chose that name for this suggestion. However it can be named whatever Riako wants to call it if he wants to add it to the site. Thank you for your support :3

Title: Support

I support a block list because of many reasons, and seeing as this site is growing and growing this site will eventually need an upgrade such as this to stop users who will not stop bugging you no matter what you do, including ignoring them.

I do support. I'm tired of those random users just begging or bugging you for clicks, free items, or even nuggets. You tell them no, and yet they keep bugging you until the point you say you'll report them for bothering you. There has been a point where I have told users to please not to message me after I said no and they kept talking to me/bugging me to the point I said I would report them. Even then they would even still continue. Ignoring doesn't really work half the time, so the block lit would really help instead of having to report users for such reasons.

Totally support, for reasons stated.

Also on other sites block lists work and are very effective and I feel they'd be great on this site.

I have a question, does this prevent all interactions? So if the person you blocked wanted to send you a Plushie they couldn't?

It would be cool if Block Lists would allow people you blocked to send you Plushies however they can't send messages with the Plushies. This is so you wouldn't get a Plushie from somebody you blocked saying, "Can you please Unblock Me? I promise do the thing I did that made you block me."

Since this was suggested before Plushies were added, I hadn't even thought about it, truth be told. But yeah, having them unable to send messages, or even just hiding the messages from them would be a good solution.

So I have added it to the first post :3

Okay I really support this.

A Block List would really help those who are doing trades/raffles/feeds/etc. and where one user may say something or be offline, and the other user could start harassing you and threatening you if you don't give them their stuff or so on. So it'd be really helpful to just be able to Block them. Plus with a block list, there'd be no reason to have to take up more room in a post for say a contest or an RP, to say who is banned from posting or participating in the thread. A block list would stop that from happening.

An idea I'd like to add on, is say User A blocks User B, then any of User A's threads cannot be posted in by User B, only viewed and looked at. Yes it would show the blocked User B that they are blocked, but at least User A isn't getting harassed. Hopefully, User B would understand what they did wrong or try to figure it out.

And with earlier posts in here, about "just report the user who's harassing you". Sometimes, I feel as though if you report someone instead of just blocking them, they could get more offended and angry at you, and if they are able to, they could harass you even more if all you could do it "report them."

Overall, thanks for posting this suggestion Nav!~ I support this all the way.

except if someone wants to get angry at you because you've reported them for harassing you (and harassing someone is against the rules in the first place) they're not allowed to do that - that kind of behavior is not tolerable, and if someone is going to be a butt and break the rules in the first place, they need to be reported and stopped not only because they have no right to be angry, but also because reporting them will prevent them from treating others like this - people aren't allowed to get away with this kind of behavior, it's as simple as that, and a problem can't be fixed if a user doesn't report someone - it's not only looking out for yourself, but it's looking out for other users and making sure no one else has to worry about that user moving on to harass them as well just because they think that they're allowed to get away with it because they're not being reported

i hope that clarifies why if someone's behavior gets so out of hand that they need to be blocked, they need to be reported as well

Bump :3

I have another idea, with the Block list you won't see the Username of the people you blocked, so if you blocked SuperCoolguy97 and somebody uses the name SuperCoolguy97 in a feed you won't see it

I'm supporting a block list as well though i didn't encounter the state of really wanting to block someone. I can still feel with the ones that already did.

I just want to add this even tho it might be quite obvious. People don't have to stay on a block list forever. =)
Personally i tend to unblock them after a certain amount of time (like some months) and give them a second chance. (Or just because i can't remember why i was blocking the person anyway. :P)

Sure if a user really needs to block me (out of whatever reasons) i have to accept this and can accept it.

I have been wanting to post this forever. Full support. And maybe a few more options to add, too?
On forums, instead of not seeing their post, you see something like,
This post was made by ______, a user on your Block List. Would you like to view this post?
And then, like the 'Show hidden content' button, if you click it, it will show the post.

It makes total sense to implement an ignore feature. There's a reason why every mmo game I've played has an ignore feature. Just because you report someone doesn't mean that he or she is going to be banned and stopped automatically. As far as I am aware, a moderator has to be notified of a report and look through it before they get banned or else people would abuse the report feature. A troll is likely to keep spewing hateful messages until they are stopped. Here on pokeheros, there is no jumping to another server to escape them. They can harass you through plushies, skygifts, or even the forums.

I understand why some people are opposing this feature and I can't say I fully disagree with them. I'm bit of neutral here but I guess I still lean slightly to the support side. :d
