I support, but maybe there should be a limit to people you can block, due to some people might go crazy and block everyone.

I would really really support this. I could really use it right now. I see it as if you dont want someone bothering you constantly or they are doing things to hurt you emotionally, you should be allowed to block them. I know for a fact there are people that think you can just ignore them or ask them to stop, but that doesn't help all the time. In real life I can understand ignoring it, but on line where you're free to do as you please so long it abides the rules, you should be allowed yo block those whom you want nothing to do with.

I definitely would support. Maybe this could be edited in the Settings, like, if you don't want any contact with them at all, press the Block Completely button, if you just don't want to see their feeds, just click on the button Block Feeds, and so on, just in case they are only annoying you one way, but other than that they are fine?

I understand both sides of the argument. I support this feature though. There are many ways that a person can be harassed here on PH besides socially.

However, I do feel that the forums should not be included. If there is an issue, a quick report is all that is needed and their post(s) can ever be removed/editted out. Really, blocking a user should not interfere with that person's ability to play on the site at all, even on the public contests, discussions, etc.. The only effect of blocking should be to stop that player from contacting you privately, and blocks feeds and feed comments the blocked person makes.

And, I would like to point out something about feeds. I am all the time seeing feeds in my notifications. What makes them special? Well, most of the people making them aren't on my friends list, but have added me to theirs. So yes, Queen, it is possible for someone to harass you, even indirectly, through feeds as well.

Queen, I really do understand what you are saying. If there is a problem with a block though, or if a user would like to work it out with another, a mod could work as an in-between person. And really, there are so many users here on PH, even if a group does try to gain-up on one person, it should easy to them to report them and find some actual friends.

Another way to handle the block list is to attach it to reports. For example, if a player has been reported (a Valid report and found guilt of it) for harassment once, then they will become available to be blocked by others. Nothing visible should appear on their profile. Something like a Blocked Users link under Community, taking you to a page where you can add and remove blocked users. In a text box, you type/copy&paste the user's name. If they don't have a harassment offense, then a message pops up with "You should report this player first." If the player does, it blocks them along with a message of "If you have not already, you should report this player as well."

If this gets implemented, there may be one or more new PH Rules added to the current ones. Just because someone is blocked, or has been reported and it now available to be blocked it no reason to spread around the news of it. Nor to talk behind their back at all.

maybe this does or doesn't need to be said, but i'll say it anyways just to put it out there in general

two wrongs don't make a right and retaliatory behavior towards users who may have harassed someone is not tolerated any more or less than the initial harassment, so if navuso wants to tell me that i'm a dummy, that does not mean any of my friends (or even myself) are allowed to go message/palpad/contact him in a threatening/unfriendly manner and tell him to get off the internets

i also still stand by my previous statement, the issue of which i think omosky actually covers in her post

i support a blacklist, the begging- and asking for money mails on this site can be a real pain...just ignoring doesn't solve any issue for me, i'am not in the mood to answer mails anymore because of this, i think of even don't reading them anymore...everytime i get a mail, i'am thinking of "oh no, not another beggar..."

if i ignore, i'am still arguing about it, so for me the problem isn't solved. i also don't want to spend my time on reporting every single message, which breaks the rules on here...also this would prevent the mod-team of being flooded with reports...

it's just a kind of protection for me...

I totally agree with this idea! People sometimes send me random annoying messages on PM, Pal Pad, Plushies, feeds, etc. If this got implemented, there should be a limit to how many people you can block, so people dont go crazy, like enderknux said.

I think it's time for another bump of this, as there was a help thread asking about if this was possible on here.

I like this idea
I especially like Trainer_Red's idea of blocking certain things, because I know that people can be annoying with their feed posts, posting something ever few minutes.

I support the suggestion fully, under the conditions that said person who is blocked doesn't receive a message saying they're blocked/can't send messages to another user, since that'd just add to the problem.
Anonymous blocking is definitively the way to go. that way, said blocked user has no clue, and can't make a bigger scene over it.
As for what gets blocked, etc, I like the idea of being able to chose what gets blocked, if that's been brought up yet.
palpad messages, personal messages, notice feed, etc. Some would probably want to block out a user entirely, but others, as suggested, probably just want to block notice feeds without actually blocking them from doing other crap, lol.

Support. It's possible to harass people without necessarily breaking a site rule, so reporting isn't a magical fix-all. And in cases where a report is called for, blocking can keep you safe while the incident is being looked into.

Bump!! Fully Supported

This is a needed addition to this site, just reporting problems will never fully solve issues where as blocking & reporting all at once would be ideal.

Don't just shoot this thought down Admins & Mods as you can see this mod has over 80% support.
If you feel the block list shouldn't be added?, then i suggest a full Pokeheros Poll for this. I'm sure it'll come out on top with a big YES! :)

Added in about blocking trades as well, as a user is harassing me through spamming them, and got reported twice with proof, and not a thing has been done. And the user knows "nothing's going to be done because it's the GLOBAL trade station"

Despite the trades being reserved, stating who they are for, and giving clear warning.

So blocking certain users from being able to offer on any trades would be lovely. Or, you know, at least something being done about the clear harassment that's been ignored, despite at least four other users seeing it that way as well :/

And I've been told "Just wait for the other person to be online to set it up, as the trades have been up for 30 minutes+"
The reply is some of those users ARE online when the trade is set up, doesn't stop users from deciding to spam them with offers. Doesn't stop people from being total jerks.

And this isn't just a mild annoyance. It's also unhealthy even to normal people. Anyone with mental problems can have this as a trigger. And clearly ignoring the issue doesn't ******* work. If it did, they would have stopped at the 20th offer, or sometime after that. I'm sick of the spam and harassment, and there SERIOUSLY needs to be a block list. (Even a small one that allows say 3 users total to be added to it at a time per account)

I am sure that this post is not the best written, but I am currently furious to the point of being sick due to this. And only because I can't just walk away because these trades are set up for FRIENDS whom have the pokemon promised to them. I can't just ignore it and let them feel scammed out of it.

At the very least add a "Reject" option to trade offers so we don't have to spend minutes sorting through the spam in order to find the PROPER offer that the trade was intended for.

Full Support Navuso

People with mental issues could have a huge issue with this, and that's been my point most of the time. I second your trade idea and BUMP this thread in hopes or the owner or admins reading & hopefully doing something about it instead of "Oh just ignore it". Some admin said blocking them doesn't solve the issue?, well neither does just ignoring them as it can cause them to become worse with there constant message.

What i would like added.
1. Blocking feature that effects PM's, messages, profile views, seeing feeds & more.

2. Allow the deleting of people's messages in the PalPad

3. Allow the deletion of Inbox messages.
And my main problem is
4. When people add me, I can reject there friend request and still have there names in my friends area. I shouldn't be forced to add people that i do not know & have no motivation to know them.
