This suggestion isn't going to be pretty for right now. If someone wants to make screenshots to give an example of potential looks or anything, you can. I don't have time right now, unfortunately.

This suggestion is for users to be able to see Delibird Delivery Packages that have not been claimed. In other words, when you send a package, you'd see the username of the person you sent it to, what you sent, and the status of it. "Pending" could signify that they have gotten your package but not opened it yet. "Delivered" could signify that they have gotten it, opened it, and retrieved the items inside. "Delivered" packages would remain for a set amount of time after being opened, like 24 hours or something.

This would help people when sending packages for several reasons:

If you send a package to the wrong username, you won't have to wonder why the other person hasn't gotten it yet. Right now, once you send a package, that's it. You don't know anything else about it. It is just gone along with your items until someone opens it. If you make a typo and send it to the wrong person, you won't know.

Users will be able to provide visible proof that they've sent a package by screenshotting and sending that to the other player. Right now, a player could claim to have not gotten a package in order to get another one from the other player, but just be getting more than one item out of them. This feature would allow players to show that they've sent a package and it has or has not been claimed.

Another feature could be to allow packages that are Pending but not Opened to be canceled. If immediately after sending a package a user realizes that they sent it to the wrong person, they could cancel it and retrieve the items. However, I do think that a cooldown could also be smart, such as not being able to cancel for one hour.

These are just a few examples. This is still a rough suggestion. If you support, please explain why, same for no support. If you have ideas to contribute to improve this suggestion, just shoot them at me.

Edits/Updates
Changed the word "Delivered" to the word "Pending" and the word "Opened" to the word "Delivered." I feel that this change makes it clearer what state the packages are in.

Added "Another feature could be to allow packages..."

Love it, 10/10 must have. This would be the only way to get proof behind the scenario you gave. Perfect idea, great reasoning, and good detail. :)

So basically this is like turning your "read receipts" on for Delibird Delivery?

I support this suggestion too - I use DID a lot so I would love to see when people get their items and open them - right now I can ask for maps - get them and say that I didn't get them so I won't pay- And the other person doesn't know weather I actually got them or not so I can easily scam them - this would prevent those scams from happening.

An addition to your suggestion-:

Users should have the option to get back their package if the status says 'Delivered' for some time, like a day or so.

I disagree. If someone wants to cancel a "Pending" deliver, that I could see, like if you decide not to send them the item any more, but once the other user has accepted it and it's delivered, you can't take that back.

My addition could have fixed this incident from happening, at least.

Ah, I misunderstood because I forgot which words I used to describe things. You're right, using the words I used in the first post, you could cancel that.

I might change the words in the first post from "Delivered" and "Opened" to "Pending" and "Delivered"

I really like the idea of being able to see whether a sent package has been claimed or not. sometimes I send out semi-random care packages and don't hear back, so I wonder if the user actually got it and didn't feed the need to check in or if they just missed the notification or something. full support for that part of the feature.

I also think I agree with being able to cancel packages that haven't been opened - maybe you can only cancel within the first hour (because of a spelling mistake, etc.) or if the package has been stuck at "pending" status for more than... a day? a couple of days? something like that?

because if the items aren't claimed, then otherwise they'd just be trapped, right? in that case, this would be really useful. I support this part, as well! overall, I think this would be a really handy feature to have if implemented.

with the new GTS and Gifting update, I think this suggestion has basically become implemented, right?

you can now see if someone's claimed a gift you sent by checking the Your Trades page, and if it hasn't been claimed yet, you can cancel it at any time! :0
