Sally took the hand, giving the girl an apologetic look. Swinging the rifle back over her shoulder, she returned to help carry Karl. The man nodded at the woman. "I'd shake your hand as well, but my arms are a bit preoccupied at the moment. I'm Karl Fairborn. This is Sally, and..." He turned to Selinia. "I don't think I ever got your name." "Selinia." She replied. "And based on your words, I assume you got dragged here as well." She gave the girl a once over. Pretty, if a bit old fashioned looking. Had they met in a bar Selinia would have definitely been hitting on her by now. Karl continued. "As to your question, no this is not a movie set, though I wish it were. I'll try to explain, but first we need to get to the safe house. Do you have any weapons?" They were then interrupted by another voice. Selinia turned to see another woman, thin with short black hair, a little way down the street. Farther still was another person, who stood out against the dark grey background. Her military digicamo was most certainly not meant for urban settings. Sally lifted a pair of binoculars, saying a single word in Russian. Karl's face looked worried, with a bit of disappointment sprinkled in. "Did this thing only bring woman?" He glanced at Selinia and the woman in green. "No offense of course."

Kai decided to get closer to the group with Karl, Selinia, and Sally. He nodded to Riles and shook his head. "No, But I'll find out soon." And with that Kai began to sprint and jump through the building tops. When he was 5 meters in distance away from the other group of survivors, he slipped and fell down from the small building, shoulder first. He landed on top of his knife, cutting him. His current pistol fell from his pocket and slide up to Selinia. Kai tried to get up slightly and removed the knife from him. He saw it landed straight on to his bullet proof vest that he kept under his clothes. The knife still got through it, but didn't stab him much. "Ow..." Kai murmured as he rubbed his left arm. "Hey. Where, and how did I get here?"

My graze turned to Selinia and I smiled at her. She'd looked me over! Now isn't exactly the time to flirt though. First things first, we had to get off the streets and somewhere more private so that I could question Karl about what was going on. Then I could go from there and try to talk to Selinia. While I normally was attracted to the knights in shining armor or conflicted souls in my beloved novels, I stuck to mostly the guys. But something about Selinia pulled at me, made me sit up and take notice. And it was something I had certainly never felt in my real life. But then I was getting lost in her eyes and right now, that wasn't going to do anything but throw her off guard and perhaps get us all killed.

Turning my gaze back to Karl, I raised a delicate eyebrow and flick my bladed fans back out. "Well, I don't know about everyone else but if Sally is anything to go by, I think you should be counting your lucky stars whatever your talking about brought woman. We're quite deadly when we choose to be. I am Serena, by the way. And I'd say I'm pretty lethal when I want to be. Sally, do you want me to take his other side? I think you're rifle outweighs my blades in practicality at the moment. I think we'd rather not have to get too up close and personal with the lovely people out walking," I said, motioning to the obvious people staggering about. I tried not to notice the fact that they were missing limbs and covered in blood. I could happily freak out about that later. It wasn't going to do any good freaking out about it now. Only serve as a distraction. And I already have enough of those, thank you, I thought to myself, gaze slipping back to Selinia for a moment.

Mag figured that, like her unit, there was safety in numbers. That's what she told herself as she made her way over the broken and uneven cobblestone, trying to not sprain her ankle, that would be just what she needs. Zombies all over the place and I'm walking up to a group of people I don't even know... Brilliant... She had never liked meeting strangers in the first place, but that caution was reinforced during a mission with the unit. Her mind filled with images of destruction, not too different than what surrounded her. Her and the unit had been sent to yet another war zone to get in, get the package, and get out. That was their job, well one of them anyways. They had been welcomed into a house by an elderly couple. As per the norm, they searched through the house to make sure it had no hostiles in it. It was deemed clear. They were all eating dinner at the table when a noise from the backyard had made one of the other men, "Sights," the sniper of the group, get up and go investigate. One of the others was just getting up to go with him when a gunshot rang out. We all rushed over and found "Sights" laying dead in the doorway. The old couple had set them up. The enemy had encircled the house and were rapidly encroaching. She had forgotten how they got out of the situation as it all went by so quickly. But those moments instilled in her a sense of distrust in people. That was the first, last and only time they had lost someone of the unit. When her mind came back to the present she had come a lot closer, about a block away to the group of people, leaving only another couple of buildings before she reached them. "Hello? Do any of you know what's going on here?" She called out, stopping roughly 30 yards from them, not wanting to get closer until she had a chance to inspect and assure herself that they weren't the threat, that it was the shambling corpses that were the problem.

Karl gave Serena a sheepish grin. "Sorry ma'am. It's just that women aren't usually soldiers. At least not here." The woman in uniform kept her distance, obviously wary of the group. Fairly reasonable under the circumstances. Sally recognized the woman's outfit as some sort of military uniform. She gave the woman a sharp salute. Karl shook his head at her before answering the woman's question. "Well ma'am, we're fighting a war currently. We are heading to a safe house now, and if you'd like to join us, I can explain more thoroughly. We can't stay here long though." His words were interrupted once more, this time by a man falling of a building. His gun slid noisily across the cobble street, stopping at Selinia's feet. He pushed himself up slightly, pulling his knife into full view.

In one swift motion, Sally swung her rifle off her shoulder, ending the movement with the barrel pointed squarely between the mans eyes. She shouted at him, probably to drop his weapon, as Selinia snatched the pistol off the ground. She looked over it's shiny silver surface. It wasn't an old time Webley revolver, a powerful gun for sure, though certainly not a fast one. Flicking the chambers open, she found that it was totally empty. Had this guy really tried to attack them with a gun with no ammo? She heard the man ask how he has gotten here, and sighed with relief. He was in the same boat as them. Karl sighed, pointing off down the street. She still pocketed the pistol. "I'm not going to stand here in the open and explain again." Selinia nodded, not wanting to be caught in a horde of zombies. She helped Karl begin limping in the direction he had pointed. "If you don't want to get eaten, follow me." Sally gave the man on the ground one last glare, before turning to follow them.

Sherene rolled her eyes as she followed Kai, but she stopped when the man got a pistol aimed at his forehead. Her arm twitched for action. Kai had reminded her too much of Jacob for her liking. They even looked similar! She raised both her hands, as a sign of surrender. "Don't shoot me?" She asked.

Well, I certainly liked Sally's style. Smiling, I went to Karl's other side. There I lifted his arm over my head and wrapped my arm around his waist to help support his weight. "I think we can carry you between us. I don't think walking on that leg is going to do you any favors later. Woman might not be soldiers here, but where, or rather when I am from, we certainly have just as much, if not more bite then the men. And the brave men and woman who fight for freedom certainly have all of my respect," I told him. My motives where to help Karl but I would be lying if I said I didn't like it when my hand bumped against Selinia. "We'll need to put pressure on that too. Do you have a first aid kit? I have read up a few things but never applied anything other then cleaning up scrapes and cuts when I fell climbing trees. I think I can be of some help in first aid."

Kai panicked when the rifle was aimed at his face. He knew he had 2 choices. A) Use the knife and throw it at her face, steal the rifle, shoot the hell outta her and the Guy who was bloody. Begin shouting at the one who had the pistol. Shoot her. Steal all their stuff and walk away. or B) Drop the bloody knife, get up slowly, and put his hands in the air and follow them. Kai really wanted to do option A, but went with option B. When he pulled out the knife out of his side, some blood trickled out from the open wound. He stabbed the dirt with the knife and got up. He seriously hoped they wouldn't check his pockets for they may find the grenade, and/or steal his Mentos. "So, Where is this bunker place? Oh and also, the Girl up there and the other guy are with me, so if your gonna shoot them, big trouble will come to ye lil' wits." Kai got up slowly.

Sherene rolled her eyes and dropped her hands, assuming she was in the clear. "Please, Kai, don't insult the people who out number us four or something to three, and are better armed than us. It just leads to trouble." And death. Sherene added silently in her mind.

Riles jumped down from the top of the house and quickly to his feet. "Before anyone points their weapon at me, just know that I'm not here to hurt or kill you." He said. "And we should probably get moving, more of those things are coming this way." He silently cursed his luck for not having a weapon to defend himself.

Mag saw the people notice her and one of them saluted her, in a very respectable clean manor. She straightened up and saluted in return before moving a little closer. She heard the injured man explain partially what's going on. A war? With zombies? Okay, Nazi zombies... Upon the man falling near the group in front of her she removed the Luger from the holster and set her eyes down the barrel aiming at his back. After the woman who saluted got the situation under control she continued her walk over after deeming that safety in numbers would definitely be important. "May I be of any assistance?" She asked as she bent over slightly to look at the leg of the man, her dog tags swinging in front of her, glinting a couple of times as they reflected the lamp light.

(I apologize for the briefness of this post. An all day tournament will certainly take it out of a body...)

Karl raised an eyebrow at the man with the knife. "I'm not sure what you just called us, but I'm going to assume it was an insult. Clearly you don't understand who we are and what the situation is. Firstly, we have no plans to shoot anyone here." Sally scowled at Kai. "Maybe make exception to you." She says in broken English. Karl continued. "Your friend is right though. We need to move. Quickly." He gestured to his leg. "Hopefully there will be some medical supplies at the safe room." A thought crossed Selinia's mind, making her want to move away from the injured man. "Wait. You got bitten!" Karl gave her a confused look. "So?" Selinia was still freaking out a bit at this point, though Karl's calm tone confused her. "So doesn't that mean you are infected? Aren't you going to turn?" Sally shook her head. She spoke rapidly in Russian, while rolling up her sleeve. Three distinct bite scars stood out against her pale skin. "These zombies aren't made by a virus, so you won't be 'infected' by a bite. You can get a pretty nasty infection if you don't clean it up, but it's the same with all open wounds." He gave them a Lin overly wide grin and a thumbs up. "I am 100% not turning into a zombie." His fake enthusiasm quickly faded, as a sound began to echo through the streets. "Click... Scratch... Click... Scratch..." Sally threw Karl's arm over her shoulder, urging he and Selinia forward, while yelling and beckoning for them to follow her. Selinia looked back for only a moment. She wished she hadn't. Only a few block down creatures swarmed out of every alley, backstreet, and manhole. Some of the things even clawed out of the ground itself. They were horrible, pale white bones glittering in the gaslight, strips of flesh hanging off of them, and a bright blue heart in the center of their chests. They were like cockroaches, scuttling along the street and across the walls. As they moved they snapped their jaws open and shut, sounding even more like a horde of insects. Selinia turned back, she and Sally practically lifting Karl into the air. "Run!" Karl shouted. "Follow us to the safe room!"

(@Charizard Don't worry about the length. Your post was plenty long. @Everyone Just in case you were wondering, you are not stronger than these zombies. You will almost never be in a situation where you can mow down a horde by yourself. That means you to Starlord XD. The soldiers may shuffle along, but they can move pretty fast when trying to grab you. Yes you can kill them, but if you aren't careful, you WILL be overwhelmed. So no stress m'k? >:-D)

(For some reason, I had a feeling AND I'M HIGH ON BELIEVING!!! that there was something on that thought that was going to get directed at me.)

Kai frowned when Sally said that. He disliked her the moment she pointed the rifle at him. Obviously, their vocabulary wasn't with his, so he accepted it. "Oh good, so no infection. Well, I think I watched to much Walking dead, then," ai laughed to himself. When the skeletons (I think thats what they are, so correct me If I'm wrong) came to view, he almost shat bricks. He didn't though. "Oh sh*t, Oh SH*T!!!" Kai shouted. Kai, while looking at the horde, noticed a dropped shotgun, and a few shells for it not so far from them and a pretty good distance away from the things. Kai ran to it, picked it up, collected the shells, stuffing them into his pockets. He pulled out the grenade out of his pocket and threw it as hard as he could at the horde. Kai ran back and picked up Karls legs and began helping carry him. "So which way?" Kai asked frantically. The grenade blew up and took a few of the things down with it.

Jacob swore viciously and looked around for anything to use as a weapon, yet there didn't appear to be anything else useful on the street. He swore again. The Skeletons were getting closer quickly. Maybe he could break down one of the many doors on the street and escape that way? He immediately dispelled the thought: the Skeletons were swarming out of all the houses as well, through shattered windows or broken doors. Their hollow eyes were trained on the group, their teeth gnashing, their bodies bloody. Their glowing hearts gave an eerie blue light to the horrible scene. Jacob decided that, as far as he could tell, there was only one thing that they could do in the present situation. "We should probably run." He suggested.

I was about to give the guy who'd cut himself on his own blade a piece of my mind when Karl started talking. I was glad he wasn't so pleased with this cocky hotshot. Then Selinia brought up a good point. I was relieved when Karl said that we wouldn't suddenly be craving living flesh but still worried. Becoming a zombie might not be an infection he caught but there were plenty of other natural infections that could take him down just as sure as a zombie. There was a long list of things that could infect an untreated wound. And there were a lot of much slower, more painful deaths associated with some of those infections, too. An eerie sound caught the groups attention and when Karl said run, I ran. I knew I shouldn't look back. I knew I would regret it. But I looked back anyways. I'd read plenty of post apocalyptic books in my time. My imagination and the written word paled in comparison to the real deal. Horror and revulsion curled in my empty stomach and I ran faster. No way was I going to get up close and personal with that!

That guy who'd insulted us was shouting. He'd thrown something that glinted dimly in the gaslights. Then his shouts were drowned out by a deafening explosion. A few seconds later, pain exploded through my left arm and I screamed in pain. Stopping, I looked at my arm to see shrapnel from who knows where all around me. A long, wicked looking piece of metal stuck out of my upper left arm. Struck dumb, I stared at it. Where the hell had it come from?! Blood gushed down my arm from around it. I knew better then to just pull it out. It could have hit an artery! It could be the only thing keeping me from bleeding out on the street. Carefully, I put my other hand to it, applying pressure. The scratching sound kept coming closer and I looked up to see some of the zombies still making their way towards us. Fast. Terror ran over me like an ice cold shower and I started running again. I was too dumbstruck to say anything about my latest piercing. I tried to careful to keep my hand from slipping and cutting myself further.

Whatever he'd thrown had been explosive. Hadn't he said there were people in that direction? Did he just not care if they were caught up in the explosion or the aftermath? Well, I knew one girl he was about to care very deeply about. He was going to be very concerned with me and where I wielded my blades. He'd be lucky I even thought before I reacted. Fear and pain pushed me faster and soon I was level with Selinia and the others. A sharp hiss escaped my lips as one of my fingers slipped in the blood and struck the metal sticking through my arm.

Mag, upon learning the bites don't infect you let herself sigh. Her spine began to tingle slightly and goosebumps traveled down her back and to all of her extremities. She turned and instantly regretted it. She had seen plenty of horrifying things in her service years, but nothing, not even charging well dug-in groups of soldiers had prepared her for this infestation that was heading right for them. Did they not hear that guy? She saw that the grenade did precious little to thin the horde so she decided to not pull out the gun and fire into the mass of white bones. She wanted to fight but she followed the order of the man who seemed like he's in charge. "Come on people! You heard the man, lets go!" She called out to the guy who had run back, and the others who may not have been running yet. She, herself, turned and began to run with the three that were carrying the man, they were definitely slowed down by carrying him. She contemplated slinging the guy over her shoulders and buddy carrying him, but she figured that it would be safer if more than one person was carrying him because if she tripped they would both likely die, so instead she just stayed next to the group her breathing even and controlled.

Riles didn't wait around. The woman shouting acted as a stimulus. He ran after her. It was only when he got closer that he realized what she was wearing. "Marines?" He asked, frowning. He looked over his shoulder. The Skeletons had not broken pace, and he could only hope that the others were running as well.

Kai seriously hoped that the Grenade did something. He decided not to look back, but did it anyways. The skeletons, they were EVERYWHERE in the street. The grenade only took a small line of them. Kai slung the shotgun he found and put it on his back. "Well, somethings hell better than nuttin'." Kai thought to himself as he ran carrying the legs of Karl. He somehow knew this people could be trusted. But he kept his guard up, just incase Sally tried killing him... again.

Mag's mind was all over the place as she ran. It was busy thinking of explanations of how she got to where and when she was, why there are undead Nazi's all over the place and what could be done to stop them. Her mind was also on keeping her breathing in check. The sound of someone speaking to her brought her mind back to the moment. She glanced over to the man asking her about her military group. She nodded quickly as she moved around a dead body laying in the road. "One of the MARSOC units..." (MARSOC = Marine Corps Special Operations Command) She gave him a once over. "You're a Marine as well... What unit?" Her voice was plain and rather deep compared to your average Jane on the street.

Selinia ran as quickly as she could, though Karl severely hindered her movements. Something exploded behind them, and shrapnel whistled past them. The long piece of metal stabbed into Serena's arm, causing her to cry out. Sally threw angry words backwards, but didn't stop moving. "There it is!" Karl shouted, pointing down the street. A crumbling building sat at a T intersection. On the face of the wall a large white smile face had been painted. A short flight of stairs lead down to a hefty looking steel door set in thick concrete walls. They had almost made it! She could here the horrible scratching getting closer, as the skeletons gained on them. Suddenly Kai rushed up, grabbing Karl's legs. He was probably attempting to help, but only succeeded in causing Selinia, Sally, and Karl to fall to the ground. Selinia scraped her elbows on the rough cobblestones, as her life flashed before her eyes. "This is how it ends then? Eaten alive by a million skeleton freaks? Her ears filled with the sound of clicking teeth, as she waited for death. She was suddenly jerked to her feet, practically dragged down the street. "Come on! We have to move!" Karl pulled her forward, his face contorted in pain as he ran without assistance. Sally backpedaled, firing rounds into the swarm. Each shot passed through several of the strange blue hearts, holding the wave back if only a little. The three crashed through the safe room door, Karl immediately falling to the floor. The beasts were only a few feet from Kai who was at the back. Selinia stared in shock as Sally slammed the door shut, crushing a skull that had tried to enter. They had made it. Barely.
