Forum-Index → Roleplay → Under the Mountain(Open and accepting)The ghost was gliding as fast as it could until a computer-like monster and some kind of shadow monster appeared before it. The ghost whined and pawed at the female's leg, gliding towards the direction it came from and back to the two figures.
Kasta backed up until her back hit a tree, staring wide eyed at the child. The child rose his knife in the air as if he was about to strike her head, so she flinched and looked away...but nothing came. She opened her eyes to see the knife on the ground and the child shaking furiously as he tried to hold in his tears. "I-i'm sorry...i'm s-so sorry!" Ladrin stuttered, clenching his fists.
(Beepboopbeeeep)
Age: Unknown, though he is a young adult
Gender: Male
Species: Monster
Appearance: Jasp has the appearance of a decently large and dark purple-blue dragon with vaguely crystalline scales, and has the ability to shift into a smaller, more humanoid form. The scales along the front of his body are a lighter shade than the ones covering the rest of him, and his messy hair is a dark blue. He doesn't wear shoes and often stays in his bipedal form, clothed in semi-torn jeans, a red-orange t-shirt, and an unbuttoned blue-gray vest. His irises are a violet color and the whites of his eyes are actually closer to a pale blue. His wings and tail are pretty much just those of a stereotypical dragon's, their color scheme matching the rest of his body.
Personality: Jasp is kind of a jerk, though he's not as mean as he might seem. He doesn't really like talking to people, and has more than a bit of a temper. However, despite his unwillingness to be helpful a lot of the time, he is actually quite soft-hearted and awkward under his scaly exterior.
Occupation: Random schmuck eyy
Abilities: He has decent camouflaging abilities while in waterfall, but otherwise he kinda sticks out like a sore thumb. He can also manipulate and create crystals. He's also pretty great at climbing.
Attack: He pretty much has the same attacks as Undyne, with crystals instead of spears, except for the bit where Undyne turns the player's soul green. When lower than half health, he shifts ino his giant dragon form and will attack with his tail, claws, and teeth, with his attacks becoming more alike to Undyne the Undying's.
History: He doesn't really talk about it. Basically, his parents are super sweet and encouraging and he hates it.

Name: Kauri
Age: Somewhere between 8 and 12
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Appearance: A very short Asian-American girl with long black hair and hazel-green eyes. She's wearing a worn off-white dress, black shorts, a far-too-large blue sweater, and faded black sneakers. Her soul is a blue-green color.
Personality: Kauri is a very caring and friendly girl, and doesn't mind getting hurt if it means someone else doesn't have to. She doesn't seem to talk very much, but when she does, she's not very loud.
Occupation: N/A; just some random human kid
Abilities: N/A
Attack: Under the ACT button are Check, Cheer, Gift (Gifting an item in inventory to opponent), and Hum (Sometimes replaced by Sing, if she's in the mood for it). She also has another extra action that changes depending on her opponent.
History: Kauri's life hasn't been all that great up until now. Her parents passed away when she was very young and she was left at an orphanage, where she failed to make many friends. Kauri was a bit of a social outcast, and after being locked out of the main building by some of the older kids, had decided to take a scenic walk up the nearby mountain, curious about some of the local rumors surrounding it. As a result of wandering up the mountain, she ended up falling into the underground.

Jasper was not having a good day. This morning, he had awoken to the sound of arguing in his backyard, and had come outside to notice that, to his dismay, the neighbor's disruptive children had trampled his lawn. Somehow, those little trouble makers had even set his tree on fire. They were playing soccer. "How does that even happen?!" He remembered saying, before storming off to get a bucket of water to put the fire out. That didn't go well either, as he ended up tripping over his own tail and tumbling into the river. Though he put the fire out, he had returned home soggy and in a bad mood. After drying off, he had figured he might take a walk by the stream to calm his head. Of course, what he didn't expect was nearly trampling a small girl(?) who hadn't been watching where she was going. He didn't even notice her due to the tall grasses in the area, and had he not have been standing still at the moment, he probably would have accidentally ended up impaling her with his sharp toe-talons. Whoops.
The child -he was sure it was a child at this point- looked up at him with a growing dismay, baffled at his towering height. She scooted back a bit as he crouched down to get a better look at her. "Now what in the world are you supposed to be?" Jasp wondered out loud, meeting the girl's hazel-green eyes with his own violet irises, before realization descended upon him like an angry eagle -whatever that was-. He recoiled, instinctively flinching backwards as he realized what this tiny creature was. "Holy son-of-a-Tem! You're a human!" He yelped, recalling bits of his high school history class, how humans forced monsters into the underground in the first place. The human girl looked at Jasp with a quizzical look on her face, as if to say 'so what?' Jasp peeked past his defensively placed arms at the girl, who seemed, in Jasp's opinion, surprisingly tiny for an alleged killing machine. In fact, she even looked perhaps.. a bit timid?
Lowering himself to the girl's eye level, he stretched his long neck towards her, a little amused when the girl flinched a bit backwards. With a sigh, he flopped into a more comfortable position, sitting down on the grassy ground. "Now, what're you doing out here? Don't you know that there are plenty of monsters around here that could just gobble you right up?" He said, smiling with a menacing grin on his face. He instantly regretted it as the little human gave a little squeak, hiding her face behind her sleeves, which were so long that they drooped over her hands. "O-oh, wait! Crap! Uh, wait, nonononono, I didn't mean it that way, I just-" He panicked, looking back and forth for some way to possibly appease the child. When he couldn't find anything that could help him out, he groaned, covering his eyes with his palms, hoping the child wouldn't start wailing. With a sigh, he looked back to the small girl, whose eyes were watering at this point. "Look, just, um, just don't freak out, okay? Alright, uhh, well, lat me see..." He mumbled, turning around to check where he had dropped his bag. "Just a moment, strange tiny human!" He said, trying to sound enthusiastic but failing miserably. His tail dangled in front of Kauri's face, tickling her a bit with the tuft of fur at the tip, with a smile and a giggle, she grabbed his tail, prompting a surprised yelp from the monster. "H-hey, don't touch that!" He yelped, standing up and attempting to grab the small human who was now hanging from his tail. He spun around in a circle several times, failing to grab her and eventually stumbling over his bag onto the ground.
Kauri let go of his tail, crouching by his face as he rubbed his head with a unamused groan. With a face that said 'sorry about that,' Kauri helped him to his feet, handing him his bag. "Thanks." He managed to groan, slinging his bag over his shoulder. "Well, um.." He said, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck. "I should get going. Uh, here, have some candy." Jasp dropped a piece of monster candy into Kauri's hand, backing away slowly. "Well, see you around I guess, tiny human." He said as he turned away to walk home. Kauri just stood there, a sad and dejected look on her face. Jasp glanced back and caught a glance of her face, fighting the instinct to run back and coddle to poor precious child and- he cursed himself, telling himself to just keep walking and ignore the sweet innocent girl with that sad expression and- With a loud groan, tossing his arms up in the air, he spun to face the human. "Okay, fine, you can come with! Just don't throw any tamper-tantrums or anything, alright? And pull your hood up, we don't want anyone thinking I've brought a human home with me!" He shouted to her, knowing that this was definitely the right decision upon seeing her joyous expression as she ran towards him, jogging to his side. "What's your name anyways?" He asked as they walked home. Kauri only replied with a happy giggle as they trotted towards town.
(ahh this is too long rip)
(tl;dr Jasp meets Kauri, silly shenanigans, takes tiny human under his wing wink wink)
Kauri took the paper, smiling as she doodled a picture of her and Jasper. She labeled her drawn self with her name. She held the image up to Jasp, a silent grin on her face. "So, your name's Kauri, huh?" He asked, Kauri responding with an enthusiastic nod. She thought for a moment, tapping the doodled sketch of Jasp with an inquisitive look on her face. "Oh, I didn't tell you my name, did I? Well, human, I'm Jasper. You can call me Jasp but, you don't really talk soo.." Jasp scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, a surprised expression crossing his face when the human girl offered him her hand. "You want me to shake your hand?" He inquired, eyebrow raised. "Well, alright then. Nice to meet you then I guess, kid." He said with a trace of a smile.
Their friendly handshake was interrupted by the buzzing of his cell phone in his pocket. "Just a moment." He said to Kauri as he stood up to check his phone. An alarm he had set up earlier had gone off, which was supposed to mark about when a friend of his would be arriving at his house. He peeked out the window as Kauri continued doodling, a bit confused why his friend was late. "Where r u?" He texted his friend. "Youre like 20 mins l8." He hoped that nothing bad had happened to his friend while he was coming over, especially with the more frequent attacks by humans.
(So I'm)
(Anyone volunteer to be the wayward friend maybe?)
I hope that's ok w/you ;w; )
Viral's hand shook as she felt something vibrate in her pocket, and she fumbled as she went to grab it, nearly dropping her 'weapon'. She felt her motors make a loud whirring sound as she, quite embarrassed at the situation, unlockEd her phone screen and stared at the message. 'Oh...Oops-' she quickly sent a text back. "I kinda just ran into that human??" She hit send, before glancing upwards quickly. "I'm totally ok, tho. They dont really seem like they're gonna hurt me, now. I think." She added quickly, not wanting to worry her friend. "... " she stood there awkwardly, all her previous hostility gone and feeling very foolish.
Jasper's eyebrows shot up as he received the text from Viral. He shot a worried glance at Kauri, who was still drawing at the coffee table in the living room. "o" He texted back, unsure of what to reply. "well um dont get killed ok? and hurry up, ms virus, im tired of waiting for u ;p" He replied, calling her by the nickname he gave her. He wondered how his friend might react to the tiny human on the couch. Well, better safe than sorry, he thought. "WELP," He said, tromping to Kauri's side and hoisting her over his shoulder. "Time to move it on into the bedroom. Can't have any unnecessary freak outs, we've had enough already." He said matter-as-factly as he dumped the human onto his bed as she erupted into a fit of giggles. "You stay here now, and don't touch my stuff, okay?" He instructed Kauri with a flick of his tail, her only response being an obligatory nod and some more giggling. "And don't get too loud. It shouldn't be a problem for you though." He said before closing his bedroom door. Kauri didn't mind being alone in Jasper's room. His bed was far comfier than hers had been, and soon the day's excitement had caught up to her. With a sleepy yawn, she placed the pencils, her drawing, and the flower she had in her hair on the bedside table and snuggled under the covers. She slipped off to a quiet sleep as Jasper tried (and failed) to not think of all the worst-case scenarios running through his head.
Me: thinks abt ms paint)
Viral looked at her phone again, sending her pal another message. "I'll be fine, Sparkles. I'm heading over as fast as I can, so please don't worry- wouldn't want you molting, right?" She felt a little bad for taking so long- but she wasn't planning on running into some murderous human.
She glanced worriedly at the small human at the thought, shaking her head and waving her umbrella at them. "I'm warning you, human. Hurt anyone else and you won't be getting away with it!" Her screen flashed red for a few seconds, before she quickly ran off. 'So much for being a hero, huh?" she thought, running quickly towards Jasper's house, carefully avoiding any ice.
