Can someone explain to me what the actual frick is going on with female ridgeback claws? The males clearly have back-facing spurs on their heels, but I for the life of me cannot figure out what the spurs on the females are doing. They're like... Front-facing but on the back of the foot on the forelegs and just huge toes on the hind legs?!
