Minor Updates
Forum-Index → News → Minor UpdatesUpdate: Searching for Ponyta, Riolu and Swablu in the Tall Grass does no longer require having their EggDex entries during the current Scavenger Hunt.
Bug Fix: Shiny Nidoran (m) and Shiny Nidoran (f), which are currently available as a special Plushie Event Distribution, were accidentally also released as purchaseable plushies for 8 DP each. They have now been removed from the DW store and all that have been bought so far were refunded.
Every Pokémon now has a proper mini icon!
The storage boxes page has been updated and is now displaying event icons for Event Pokémon instead of the generic base Pokémon's icon.
Special thanks to Mrinja who helped us with this project by spriting many of the Event mini icons and recoloring icons for Pokémon with different formes!
Trapnich and today's new mega-able (see spoiler below) are now mega huntable!
Thanks to sifyro for giving us inspiration for Mega Flygon's design! c:
Spoiler about today's new advent calendar mega:
The PokéRadar page and the small PokéRadar widget on your Userprofile now also show the amount of mega-ables/shiny mega-ables that you've hatched during your hunt (Only if you're currently hunting a Pokémon that can hatch with a mega ability).
Your PokéRadar history also lists "Shiny Megas".
Enjoy!
Thanks to our recent Speed Click Saturday Event, I was able to collect some very valuable metrics about the performance of our interaction clicklists which now help me to strongly improve this system.
During the last few days, I made some improvements to the Friendlist Party and the Random Pokémon clicklist. These were the slowest clicklists during last Saturday.
After applying code improvements to these clicklists, I tracked the performance again for 24 hours and saw that these changes resulted in the following speedups:
Friendlist Party Clicklist: Now 7.7-times faster
Random Clicklist: Now 10.8-times faster
In total, the clicklist system is now exactly twice as performant!
Nevertheless, my work is not finished here yet - I'll improve the other clicklist categories in the next few days as well. Just wanted to give you a quick update on the current progress c:
As announced in September 2017 the Herowalker was no longer supported and has now been completely disabled (Only 2 users have been using it during the last 6 months anyway, so most of you shouldn't be affected by this change).
The Herowalker subforum has been removed as well.
Our "Online user" clicklist's performance has been strongly improved. It is now about 8-times faster on average.
Since this clicklist is a very popular clicklist, we were able to measure an overall performance improvement of our clicklist system of around 260% yesterday. We're quite ready for the next Speed Click Saturday on February 2nd, I'd say!
The algorithm for spotting trending feeds on the Notification wall now takes both the feed comments & hearts into account. Also, feeds that have many spammy comments (i.e. users commenting 20-times in a row on the same feed) are now ranked lower than before.
The amount of displayed trending feeds has been increased from 20 to 30.
Starting on March 1st 2019, all http connections to PokéHeroes will automatically be converted to secure https connections. https is a much more secure protocol that encrypts all traffic between your computer and the PokeHeroes servers.
There's no action required on your side and you should also not notice any difference.
However, before we implement that update, please make sure that https works properly on your computer by accessing PokeHeroes via the following link:
https://pokeheroes.com
If you don't notice anything different, then that's good and everything's working fine!
If the site does not load properly, then please submit a detailed report in our Bugs/Complaints forum.
Attention everybody - our spriter staff is looking for a new member!
Are you a creative person who enjoys creating Event Pokémon sprites? Then it's your time to send in your application!
Before applying, please read carefully through the requirements on the application page! Your application must include at least 4 Pokémon sprites and at least 1 Fake Mega sprite of a Mega Pokémon that hasn't been released on PokéHeroes yet.
Applications will be reviewed starting next month.
Feel free to send in more than one application as soon as you have new sprites to present; applications are automatically merged.
