"Why did they put accusations to you," said Com. Madison.
"It's because somebody wants him to put false witness against him, sir," said Kyle.
"That's okay, son. You're still safe and innocent," said Com. Madison.
Suddenly, Hector's father, Lt. Com. Willis, the strongest soldier, but rudest soldier in Tennessee and Hector's father, entered the headquarter. Cassius saw Lt. Com. Willis holding Evangelina's arms.
"Oh no!" said Cassius to himself silently on his brain.
No longer here.
"Impossible," said Lt. Gen. Erickson, went outside the headquarter's house after hearing Com. Willis's story.
"It isn't impossible, too. Right, Cassius?" said Com. Willis. "Let's give him a round of applause for his achievement to help her escape, that somehow, failed," grinned Lt. Com. Willis.
"This isn't true," said Com. Madison.
"Like father, like son. You need to imprison Cassius, Eustace, for TREASON," grinned Com. Madison.
The soldiers were shocked, too.
"No, you were just made that up to ruin our lives," said Com. Madison.
"Oh, so you were convicted, too," said Com. Willis.
"N-No," said Com. Madison.
"That's what I thought," said Com. Willis, holding Evangelina's arm.
"I beg your pardon for your son, Com. Willis," said Gen. Erickson.
"It's fine, General," said Com. Willis.
"You are coming with me, Lieutenant Madison," said Gen. Erickson, holding his arms to the headquarters, along with Gen. Willis, holding Evangelina to the headquarters.
All soldiers were shocked.
No longer here.
"Wh-what? You weren't on a boat the time of the bombardment?" questioned Gen. Erickson.
"I was at the boat that time, General," said Com. Willis.
"Oh..., come with me you two. Com. Cooper, release Hector at the prison," said Gen. Erickson.
Cassius remains silent.
No longer here.
She was lead forcefully to the middle of the camp with Cassius and they were tied up to the post there. When the men left, she turned to Cassius.
"Why didn't you say anything?" She whispered. "Why didn't you blame me? What use is it to you to be tied up here? You should have gone along with it and not worried about me. I would have been fine. What else can they do to me? Not let me go? They already won't!"
Suddenly, Isaac, Kyle and Paul came closer to Cassius.
"Why, Cassius, why?" said Kyle with curiosity.
"I did that, because I hate to see Union's faces," said Cassius.
Kyle was shocked. Then, Isaac came closer to Evangelina and slapped her in the face.
"This is all your fault, missy. This wouldn't happened if it wasn't for you," said Isaac angrily.
"No. It wasn't her fault. It was mine. I did that on purpose. Please, stopped hurting her. Hurt me instead, because I betray our nation," said Cassius.
No longer here.
"I'm sorry. I...Can you...get him out? Please? Blame me! We can say I managed to undo his ropes and he was so disgusted he ran off! Please! He doesn't deserve to be hurt!" She asked the other men she assumed were Cassius' friends.
"No need to untie me, everyone. It's to risky for you. Instead, just leave us behind," said Cassius.
Com. Madison proceeds to the middle of the camp, while his son was tied up.
"Cassius, why are you trying to make her escape? She is our only bait to come her father---" said Com. Madison, but was paused when Cassius replied.
"I hate to see Union's faces, so I try her to escape and never retur---" said Cassius.
"I know, son. I know. I hate to see people from the North. But that's prohibited to us soldiers. That's our only bait to come her father here. I wish I could untie you, but,..." Com. Madison looked at Gen. Erickson, then turned to Cassius. "Gen. Erickson might kill me if I untie you," said Com. Madison.
"Don't worry, Dad. I'll be safe here," said Cassius.
"I'll go get your water bottle," said Isaac, returning to their tent and finding his water bottle.
Then, Com. Madison turned to Evangelina.
"If you weren't here, my son will not be like that, tied up," said Com. Madison angrily.
No longer here.
Tears rolled down her cheeks and she angrily wiped them away. "I'm done with this whole mess! Why did you start this? Why couldn't you people just let those poor slaves go free? What makes you better then them? It certainly isn't your hearts!"
"Here, drink it!" said Isaac.
Isaac opens the water bottle cap and drinks from it. After Cassius drinks the water from the bottle, he was replenished.
"Lina, are you thirsty?," said Cassius.
No longer here.
Suddenly, Hector dropped the water bottle, draining the water to the ground.
"Hey, what's the big idea," said Kyle with anger.
"Why are you helping this," Hector strokes Cassius's face, "TRAITOR?" said Hector.
"Hey, stopped hurting my son, Lt. Willis," said Com. Madison.
"Why? Isn't that true? A traitor?" said Hector distinctively.
"But you're hurting him," said Com. Madison.
"I don't care. I just want to give him a revenge for what he did to me," said Hector.
"Whatever you do to him, he's still in our side," said Com. Madison.
"Not for long," grinned Hector.
No longer here.
"Oh, I'm sorry, did that hurt?" She asked, towering over him. She kicked him again and again until he got smart and crawled out of her reach. She stepped in front of Cassius as best she could and glared at Hector.
"You'll get out of here if you ever want to be able to stand strait again," she smiled sweetly at him. "And if you ever touch him again, I'll break your finger."
"It's okay. I can even stand for one week," said Cassius.
Suddenly, Hector's father came in.
"Hector, are you okay? Who did this to you?" said Com. Willis.
"What a drama.", muttered Com. Madison.
"It was Evange--" but Cassius started to spoke.
"It was me," said Cassius.
Suddenly, Hector silenced and Com. Willis was shocked. He came closer to Cassius.
"You did this?" said Com. Willis.
"Yes, ... I did," said Cassius.
"How dare you?," Com. Willis punches Cassius on the chest. After one punch, Com. Madison blocked the punch with his hand.
"It is prohibited to punch underlings... You were lucky you have been promoted to commander," said Com. Madison.
"You! Get out of the way," said Com. Willis.
No longer here.
She turned to Cassius, running her hands on his chest to check the damage.
"Well, I can't see the bruising, but I don't think he hit anything vital," She told him. "Why did you do that? I don't want you to get hurt because of me anymore."
She looked him in the eye, worry coloring her tone and painted across her face.
No longer here.
"Well, I can look after myself. But I still mean what I said. If he touches you, I'm breaking his finger. I don't know how I'll do it, but I will!" She turned her back to him and looked up at the clouds.
"Good to hear that," said Cassius.
Gen. Erickson went outside.
"What's going on here?," Gen. Erickson yelled and find out that Com. Willis and Com. Madison were fighting, while Isaac, along with Cassius's water bottle, and Kyle stands back a few meters from the post.
"EUSTACE! JEREMY! Please STOP FIGHTING!," yelled Gen. Erickson.
"Wow! I didn't know Hector's dad's name is Jeremy," said Isaac and chuckles.
Com. Willis and Com. Madison stops from fighting and stood up.
"You two are coming with me," said Gen. Erickson, holding Com. Willis's and Com. Madison's arms.
"That wasn't me it was him," said Com. Madison and Com. Willis simultaneously.
"Say it when we were now in the building. We have a meeting," yelled Gen. Erickson.
They went now to the headquarters.
"Wow!" said Cassius.
No longer here.
"I hope your dad doesn't get in trouble. He was only protecting you. Jeremy," she said with a giggle, "Should be put in time out like the child he is."
She didn't turn around after she had stopped talking. She looked at Cassius' smile and her heart skipped a beat. She hadn't ever felt the way she did when she was around Cassius. She wondered at the new feeling and tried not to blush.
