I just need to sit down for a while," said Cassius, wanting him to sit down after a few hours standing on the pole.

Evangelina took Cassius' hand, careful not to hurt him, and lead him to a tent.
"Please, stay right here," she told him, holing out her hands. "I'll only be a moment."
We went to get a medical kit.
"Yes Gen. Lovelace. Right away, sir," a couple of the man scurried off, ashamed they had thought such things about Evangelina.
Evangelina returned to Cassius and pulled out her things.
"This might sting," she told him, looking at him sadly. She cleaned the burns and wrapped them in bandages.
"Well, this ought to be fun," Evangelina sighed and began cleaning them as best she could.
"Well. thank you, Lina. It might hurt a bit, but, this will recover me. Thank you, Lina." said Cassius.
He smiled only for only one second, because her father might see him smiling at her.

"Well, if you want, you can come work on our farm. The pay is good and I can get my dad to let you use the barn loft as your room. There is a local school house, too," she told him. "I remember you wanted to be a schoolteacher."
Gen. Lovelace smiled at both of them as he walked over with two plates of food. He handed one to each of them and sat down in front of them.
"Eva, what happened, sweetheart?" Gen. Lovelace asked. "You were just gone. Then we got a letter."
Cassius hands one of the plates.
"Th-Thank you, sir," said Cassius.
Cassius turned to Evangelina.
"Did you just sent a letter to your father?" Cassius was shocked. "Sorry, I wasn't supposed to be overreacting."

"I was so worried!" Evangelina hugged her dad. She pulled back and said, "Dad, this is Cassius. When I first was tied up in the camp, he gave me water and told me he would help me."
Gen. Lovelace looked at Evangelina before pulling Cassius into a hug.
"I don't mean to startle you, but you can't believe the gratitude I have for you. You helped my daughter for no reason. How can I repay you?" Gen. Lovelace asked, releasing Cassius.
"Man, Lina's dad is so different to Gen. Erickson. Gen. Erickson is brutal and mean, and her dad is... different. ... I don't know what to say to her dad. He's kinda really annoyed me."

Evangelina smiled at her dad as he left. She turned to Cassius and said, "Wow! He doesn't do that often. I think he likes you. You have certainly earned his trust. And mine. I'm still sorry for getting you into all of this."
"Your dad seems... strict to me. I'm scared of him sometimes, because he's the general of your nation, and he's my enemy..." Cassius waves his hand. "No offense, Lina. ... But, I like your father. Really! He's nice and punctual to me, even though we're..."
Cassius stopped to say something, because, her father might caught him.
"You know what, let's forget about it."
"No need to sorry, Lina. Even though a million times, a billion times or maybe a trillion times to say sorry to me. I really accept your apology. No need to say sorry, Lina. Besides, you're a nice friend, Lina." Then, Cassius smiled and pats Evangelina on her arms.
Cassius doesn't want to tell him how he feels for her, because this is not the right time for him to say.

"Would you like me to go see if there is a tent ready? Or if you're still hungry, I can see if there is more to eat." She told him
