"Uncomfortable? What are you talking about? And why are you apologizing for?" said Cassius, curiously.
No longer here.
She smiled up at him, happy he didn't want her to move away. She put her head back on his chest and sighed. He smelled nice, like pine trees and the lake she had grown up near.
Cassius said to his brain.
Why is this feeling for this girl from the North, Lina, is way too far from the girls in Baton Rouge? Why am I feeling like this? I don't want to have a feelings with a girl from the North. ... I want to see my smile to her, but I can't. I maybe feel awkward if I do that. More like, I'm ... in love with her? No, wait. That's preposterous.
Cassius shook his head after that.
No longer here.
When she finally quieted, she looked up into his beautiful blue eyes. They were like looking into the clean Lake Michigan water and losing yourself to the beauty of it. She leaned closer.
Kyle went to Cassius.
"Cassius, are you hungry? Here, I'll give you some food." Cassius opens his mouth. Suddenly, Hector shove Kyle and dropped the plate on the ground.
"What's the big idea?" said Kyle.
"Do you want to feed this bastard?" said Hector.
"Bastard?!" said Cassius.
"Silence!" said Hector, slapping Cassius on his face for no reason.
No longer here.
Evangelina made many of the nearby man gasp when she attacked his manhood. She smiled sweetly at them and looked back at Hector.
"Give me your hand," she demanded, holding out her bond hand for him to obey.
Trying to act tough, Hector put his hand in hers.
Evangelina had had to reset many half-healed broken fingers. So it took her very little effort to snap his index finger on purpose.
He screamed and pulled his hand back.
"I told you I'd brake your finger it you touched Cassius again," she smiled her most charming smile at Hector.
"Girl, don't do that," said Kyle, then he looks at the dropped food.
Suddenly, Com. Willis went outside when his son heard him screaming and saw Evangelina hold his hand with Hector. Com. Willis came closer to Hector.
"Son, are you okay?" said Com. Willis, worried. "You!" Com. Willis pointed Cassius on his finger. "You did this? Answer me!" Com. Willis shouted louder, "ANSWER ME!"
Kyle just stand back and replied.
"Com. Willis, Cassius didn't do that," said Kyle.
"Do I need to trust a traitor's friend?" said Com. Willis.
Kyle was silenced. He just do nothing, stands back a meter away and just watch.
No longer here.
She only stopped for Cassius. She walked as far away as the rope allowed and fumed.
Cassius was shocked. Then, Com. Willis holds and strokes Evangelina's cheeks.
"Because, you ... are just a pathetic, ... stupid, ... worthless, ... Union, ... girl," said Com. Willis.
"No, you're wrong. She is not!" yelled Cassius and Cassius headbutts Com. Willis. Then, Com. Willis stops holding Evangelina's cheeks and drops from the ground. Cassius feels pain from his head, after he headbutts Com. Willis's head. Everyone who watched them was shocked.
"Ow, ow, ow."
No longer here.
She was so worried about him, that she almost didn't realize what he'd said.
"Cassius," she said softly.
Cassius daid to himself silently.
How on earth did I yelled at?
Cassius replied to himself. "Yes, Lina?"
Suddenly, Gen. Erickson went outside.
"What's going on here?" yelled Gen. Erickson.
Gen. Erickson shocked when his 'best-friend' dropped on the ground.
"Com. Willis, are you okay?" said Gen. Erickson.
"It was..." He pointed Cassius. "... him, he headbutt..." Com. Willis holds his head. "Ow!"
Gen. Erickson stands up and slapped him on Cassius's face.
"How on earth did you do this? Why did you became a traitor in this nation?" said Gen. Erickson.
Cassius never spoke. Gen. Erickson slapped him over and over to let him speak. Cassius still never speak. His cheeks turned into red.
No longer here.
"Stop it! Stop hurting him! It's my fault! Leave him alone!" silent tears were rolling down her cheeks. She wanted nothing more then for them to untie Cassius. "I did this! Stop punishing him! Hit me!"
"Please, Lina, d-d-don't," said Cassius with pity.
"Okay, you asked for it," Gen. Erickson slapped her, with only one hand. Cassius heard his slapping face.
"D-Don't, p-please," said Cassius.
"More. More! MORE!" said Com. Willis.
Gen. Erickson slapped her face.
No longer here.
She was pushed around by Gen. Erickson. He kept slapping her, forcing her head to fly back.
She looked down at her feet and prayed he would finish soon. But she didn't want Cassius hurt because od her! Every time he hit her was a time he wasn't hitting Cassius.
"I can't take it anymore," yelled Cassius and he kicked Gen. Erickson's private part. Gen. Erickson holds his private part, due to pain. He tries to punch Cassius on his face. Cassius closes his eyes. Suddenly, Gen. Erickson heard some shotgun sounds. The birds are flying above, due to the shotgun's sound.
"What was that?" said Gen. Erickson.
The soldiers hides at their tents, some are fleeing in terror and went to the next town. The shotgun sounds came closer and they appeared out of the woods. It was the Union's army!
"What the?!" said Gen. Erickson.

"Evangelina!" her father yelled, running towards her. He deftly cut the ropes holding his daughters hands. She threw her arms around her father and hugged him tightly.
"Daddy!" She cried, using the nickname she hadn't used in years. After a moment, she let go of him.
"Dad, can I borrow this?" She asked, pointing to the knife. He nodded and gave it to her.
Evangelina turned to Cassius and carefully cut the ropes off of his wrists. She handed her dad back the knife and inspected Cassius' hands.
"They need to be taken care of," She told him, looking up at him. "I can tend to them if you want me to."
"Where are we going, general?" said Hector, running.
"Everywhere, but there," said Gen. Erickson, fleeing in terror.
Suddenly, Com. Madison came closer to Cassius.
"Cassius, you must join with them," said Com. Madison.
"But why, Dad? I can't leave you behind," said Cassius.
"Just, ... go with them," said Com. Madison, left, running, along with Isaac and Kyle.
Cassius walked, but his legs are startling, due to long hours of standing.
"D-Dad?" Cassius sniffed and flows with tears.
No longer here.
"Please, I am not going to hurt you," He told Cassius, placing Cassius' arm over his shoulder. Gen. Lovelace sensed something between his daughter and this boy. He had sensed it when she had freed his bindings. "Let's get you somewhere to sit and a decent meal. Then you can tell us what happened here."
Evangelina eyed Cassius worriedly. He didn't look so good.
"Please, Cassius. If you still want to leave after that, I will make sure you get a horse and plenty of supplies to after them," Evangelina told him softly.
Cassius turned to Evangelina.
"I can't, Lina. Because, my father said to me, that I will stay by your side. My father is far-faraway from me. I bet he's fine. Besides, he's been a good father after all. Even though, he's overprotective to me," said Cassius.
Cassius said to himself silently.
I thought her father was brutal, fearless and merciless. I was wrong all along. ... I bet my father will be fine, he's been a good father to me when I was an infant.

"Cassius, we aren't going to keep you captive," Evangelina laughed lightly. "Don't you just want to go home? And see your mom?"
"She's right. I will not keep you captive. By the looks of things, they had been doing that to you," Gen. Lovelace waved a hand in the direction of the men who'd fled.
"That was actually my fault," Evangelina told her dad. "He was helping me and um," she gestured to the clearing, "They held him here with me."
