If you break the rules, you should already know you've done so and be expecting consequences.
Also, it's not very "hidden" if you get reported for a PalPad message and there's messages that you can automatically recognize were sent to a specific user.

You are right there. it may still help. even if it just helps a little bit it is better then just the normal PM.

The hidden thing is to make sure the other user has no worry. have you ever broke a rule with out knowing? well i believe a few new users over time did with out knowing. it is not hard to not know you did some thing wrong. it helps in a big way with new users.

I'm pretty sure we have to agree to understanding the rules before even creating an account, so they should know the rules and know if they're breaking them or not.

some users skip past that. not all read the rules at first. what if it is a RP you posted some thing like "what is this?"? some new(and old) users do this a lot. I should know because well i RP a lot and report users at least once a month. that spam tells me not every one reads the rules at first.

I agree with Mal~ and joe on this. Users already get private messages about what they did wrong we don't need notifications for it. It would be a waste of time to code that in. And it would not help if they are going to still break the rules.
PM'S are better then having a notification cause you will still have the pm it doesn't get deleted but for notifications they disappear in a couple of days. And I do believe it wouldn't be a big help at all.

Not every one gets a PM when they are reported. i believe so any way. i do see that this is not the greatest idea but it is a start. at least i am trying to help PokeHereos in some why.

It's like being hired for a job. You have to learn all of the rules before you start working at that job, otherwise you'll be fired. Your boss won't take "But I didn't know you weren't supposed to do this." as an excuse.

Still. not all users read the rules at first. some even ignore them. i can see it has it's flaws but i guess not even a idea you had to help a little can make it some times. i am sorry if this was a waist of a idea.

New user or not, you are expected to know and follow the rules.
Being new or not knowing about the rules is not an excuse for not following them.

Additionally... Reports are supposed to be private anyway. Why report someone when you know they'll immediately get a Notification relaying the exact thing you just typed in the report? Where's the anonymous part going? Right out the window. From experience - it's rather easy to know that some people have their own style of typing. Right off the bat a user would immediately know who reported them. People'd be scared to report anymore because they might get recognized by someone who...for instance...is repeatedly harassing them (and others). What if they're the only one who decided to step forward and send in a report? And if the person immediately recognizes it as them? The number one thing they WOULDN'T want is to be recognized by that person.
And if a moderator (like myself) sends a warning to the user... Would they actually read it? They already saw the notification saying exactly what they were reported for. Why go and see the official Private Message? Who would go read the "You have received a warning!" PM ever again? That practically defeats the purpose of it, rather than the fact all the mods will be able to know what all warnings a user has and therefore know when it's time to lock the account.
But it's not ours to read. It's the user's.
Besides, as I said before:
If you're breaking a rule you should already know and shouldn't have been doing it in the first place.
In my opinion the majority of the rules are commonsense and are on basically every site.
On a site that might have a bunch of kids on it too? Don't curse excessively or post sexual content.
Thievery is punishable by law? Obviously you shouldn't do that on a site either.
Cheating or trying to take advantage of a bug on the site? That's just plain unfair and dishonest.
I could probably go on for ages. See my point?
I do not believe this suggestion should be implemented.
I feel it would only cause trouble within the userbase - something we don't need.
