i did something with Paint too ;;

it looks amazing
well, the place that guy's in is a vast land of red rock and lava
there are mobs in that wasterland
like, monsters
and a fortress type building
perhaps i should try and put that in
might edit it on suday, i suppose
when i'll most likely stream

@Dcasom

Shouldn't the BG be big though? In my opinion, what's the point of a small bg (like a "real" bg (scenery) rather than a pattern). By making the BG smaller you're basically reducing the space with color/objects?? Which is more empty space, which contradicts what you said?

& that's amazing you drew that in paint?!

@Dragon_Lady
The thing that bothers me about your drawing is that the lava (tower?) has no shadow (the lighting)? The person in the foreground has a shadow (in front of him) which suggests the light is coming from behind but the lava tower does not cast a shadow? (which theoretically should?) Lighting is hard to stay consistent to, though xD

Well, for me if the bg is big it kinda draws the focus away from the character. And to me, it makes the drawing rather empty with all that extra space around, especially when the bg looks plain. Unless you want the main focus to be on the background, you can go ahead and make it big. That's just me u-u;

Thanks o3o

drew it....recently.
it's just a headshot....

and i figured out what i should do as well in the drawing
like, i need to ''add some texture'' to that floor thing
would make it look better

Meh, the big backround in Dragon Lady's drawing doesn't bother me. :p
Also, yet again another epic dragon. You never get bored of drawing them, do you? xD

@Dcasom: Your Paint skills amaze me. *Bows down to the Paint-senpai*
I really love the hair though, there's so many colors in there and somehow they all fit together nicely. Awesome job, mate. ouo

Anyway, here's that doggie. Finally. I actually drew this over a week ago but I was too lazy to spray it with fixative and scan it until today. xD

Can you see the "quick sketch" in the previous one now? xP

@Dcasom
Hmm, I slightly agree although I am not talking about dragon lady's drawing specifically o3o. I just think "real" bgs (scenery) should cover the whole canvas. E.g. It'd look kind weird if the background on the mona lisa suddenly shrunk 25% and there was white/"transparent" space in stead. xD? To me a BG is meant to create "context"

@Finhawk
Great job with the shades! Also, what is "fixative"? (the thing you had to "spray" on your drawing?) I've never heard of anything like that before.

@Star-O-Light
Ahh, that looks like an amazing pixel! I can't pixel either xDD

Here's a experimental cell-shade chibi that forgot to post a week ago wwww

TCDL,
my favourite thing about your headshot here is the snout because perfect curves hng

Finhawk,
thank you ;;
I like how your shading makes it so realistic. Also, the dog's head is perfect and I like how there are wrinkles(?) and tiny whiskers(???) on its snout ;u;
It's a really great drawing altogether uvu

Star-O-Light,
I screamed a little when I first saw yours okay it's too perfect and it makes me really happy every time I see it
and you said you can't pixel to save your lifeee

Yuucchii,
I wasn't really talking about her drawing too lmao but yeah you're right too, it kinda depends on the artist themselves I guess o3o
What a cutie ;
i can't cell-shade to save my life too

Thank you fellas. :3

@Yuucchii: Fixative is a liquid you spray on traditional drawings such as pencil or coal works to better preserve them and to prevent smudging. It makes the pencil/coal/whatever stay on the paper. It's kinda like hairspray actually, here's a picture of the bottle of the fixative I used.

Also, that chibi is just way too cute. >w<

@Finhawk
O.o i never knew that (well I don't draw much traditionally anyways XDD) That seems pretty convenient although after I'm done with a traditional drawing I always seem to ruin it haha. (be it a signature or something else LOL)

Thank you so much ^^

@Dcasom
yep,yep I agree. All depends on the composition/artist itself! C: One of my most favourrrite artists on DA is namie-kun (although she doesn't use her DA much anymore) here drawing all super amazing and very BG-heavy. I love her works to death. You guys should check her out! She draws a lot of pokemon too xD

*Pops into thread randomly*

Here, have a pic of my most precious OC, Möhnä:

He's basically a blue and red monster/alien who only wears a tattered loincloth. I guess creating a character like that tells something about me. Something not so flattering.

I didn't know if I should post this here or not haha. Considering I haven't posted anything in this thread for a while.
Well, I re-drew the Furfrou drawing in the Salon, and I really prefer this new version :'D

Shiny version is here

Just a side notice. Would posting two alternative version drawings be okay? (Not completely different drawings) Like.. posting a normal drawing of a Pokemon, and then just the shiny version? I just wanted to make sure ^^'
