"Hello, I'm the action news reporter with all the news that is news and I'm standing here at this massive outbreak of a war on Duckletts. Wait, it just in, it's not Duckletts, but one specific Ducklett! Apparently he started it by taking a valued member of society hostage!" an Ampharos rambled off rather quickly as she gave an update on the uprise against Raiko that was taking place in Emera town.

A Lucario stepped over and took the mic away from the electric type and cleared his throat before speaking.
"Yes, thanks JustaJolt, for that riveting update on the situation. Now, for those of you who aren't following this story and just tuned in, we would like to explain what we know. However, we will keep you updated as we get more information."

He waved his spiked paw and a small box appeared beside his head, a projection produced by a team of Ralts.

"First, everyone knows that Professor_Joe does experiments on normal Pokémon, trying to improve them. However, sometimes these experiments are of questionable moral."

He cleared his throat again, then the Ampharos came up and snatched the microphone away with her tail.

"He created a DEMONducklett!Ithadthat -......- dark aura, and everything! It was going to destroy all the userbase, so-"

The Lucario glared at JustaJolt, then took the mic away again.

"Yes, thanks Jolt. As I was saying: They are of questionable moral at times, but it's nothing worth dying over. However, the law seems to think differently as earlier today the helpful professor was arrested by the only being of absolute power around the town, Riako. What being of absolute evil would stop experiments that are mainly for the good of the site?!"

As he was explaining the situation, an image of the Ducklett in question, the altered one, was shown from the telepathic imaging, then an image of Riako leading Joe away with the Gardevoir's hands tied behind his back flickered across.

"There's a riot building here," the Lucario said in front of a forming mob chanting #SaveJoeArmy, #WarOnDuckletts, #WarAgainstDuckletts, and more recently #SaveNavuArmy.

"As you can see, there's another prisoner of war! A tiny little critter, which I have just received news of being a Natu/Skitty fusion, is now captured. However, it seems that this strange critter was captured because.... WHAT?! He managed to do WHAT?! HOW?!"

The Ampharos from earlier snatched the mic away as the Lucario tried to come to terms with the information.

"There's supposed to be a hanging in HeroChat at 8 pm tomorrow, however, there is a new development. Joe is receiving support from the outside, and should be able to escape. The Natu critter is captured as well, but seems unable to save himself. Oh, and Riako, the Ducklett that started it all, is apparently captured in some underground cage. The demands for his release were Joe's release, however the captor is now captured. Who will be freed first? Which side will win this war?! THIS IS SPART-"

A blue ball of energy hit the Ampharos, knocking her back. The Lucario stepped back into the scene and picked up the dropped mic.

"This is the Hero News, keeping you up to date as we get the updates! Please keep tuned in for this. Also, if you have any additional news on the situation, please PM or PalPad Navuso who is apparently the trapped Natu thingy wanting to keep everyone up to date as new revelations are found!"

*Screen flickers to black*

Oh my gosh!! JustaJolt is in it!! XD (Did not expect that to be what you used her for! XD)
... Sorry. I had to post this. I'll go back to reading now and will post a proper comment when I finish. XD

Edit: Oh my gosh that was amazing. XD JustaJolt is my favorite, but even so, having Lucario hit her with an Aura Sphere was hilarious. XD
Very well-written, and I thought that the personality given to the news reporters was amazing. Having them as real Pokémon on PH is an interesting touch. XD Good job! ^^ I anticipate the next news report!

The black screen fades in to the Lucario being mid-sentence and the Ampharos by his side, waving her arm as she held her tail and talked into it like a mic.

"-o the prisoners of war have increased!"

"Oh, Lucario, sweetie! Don't forget about the lovely ad that we have received reports of!" the Ampharos spoke up, then ran off for a moment before returning wearing a shirt with a Ducklett head with the typical anti-symbol over it. The red circle with the line through it a strong contrast to the blue bird.

"Take all your Pokédollars and show your support for your side at uranianUmbra's all you could want support stand! It's just outside the jail, where Joe and Navuso are being held captive! You got your hats, shirts, cups, mouse pads, shoes, and even Pokéballs! Hey, someone find my trainer, QUICK!"

Reporter Lucario hit his face with his palm at the rather uneventful distraction that JustaJolt gave, then shook his head and proceeded to give an update.

"Okay, that aside, it just in that the starters of the resistance corps are SteeltheSeal and Dilluscus! They were the first ones at the door of the jail chanting for Joe's freedom! It looks like the commander, Stolen, and the Lieutenant Dill are currently missing on the main lines, but news of them gathering more recruits is being spread around. I would hate to be on the Ducklett side! That aside, that is all the updates we have at the moment. So excuse me while I go and buy some 'Neutral Informer' merchandise from uranianUmbra."

"This just in, there's an emergency news update!!!" the Ampharos yelled as the letters flickered in red across the screen.

"Apparently Ilovcows was a double-agent! We haven't gotten in interview, yet, but we are working on it," she added, then looked to the Lucario who seemed done fighting for the microphone.

"The more important news update is that Riako has vanished from his cage. Is it an act of freedom from his army, or a heinous declaration of war? Also, it seems like the strange Natu fusion has also vanished from his cage, though rumor has it that he just slipped through the bars because he's so tiny," he explained, kind of glad that JustaJolt let him give the actual important announcement after her little update.

In the meanwhile, press officer Silph Wanna, a strong-looking Swanna that is dressed in a black uniform, alerts the press for an update about this whole case - from the point of view of the Ducklett army.

"Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for coming on such short notice. As you have already been told, the criminal Professor Joe, well known for his moral questionable experiments on Pokémon, has been arrested earlier today by the Ducklett Police Superintendent Riako. We have evidence against Prof. Joe, proving illegal activities such as experiments with duckletts. These genetic experiments were hurtful. Abominable. Revolting. And most important: An insult towards the whole Ducklett Association. Simply: Unacceptable.
The defendant was therefore sentenced to death, schedulded for tomorrow, 8 o'clock.
[...]
A few hours after this judgement, Superintendent Riako was kidnapped by some rebels - taken to a yet unknown place. We do not know their motives, although we assume that these rebels are allies of Prof. Joe, trying to extort his release. Nevertheless, we didn't receive an official statement or a threatening letter so far. It's therefore..."

*a Ducklett in an Uniform appears and whispers something in Silph Wannas ear*

S. Wanna towards the press: "... We were just notified, that our Superintendent Riako managed to escape and is on his way back to our headquarter!"
*partial applause*
"Thanks for your attention. We will keep you updated as soon as Riako arrives."

Reporter Lucario scratched at his head from the interruption from the Swanna.
"Apparently that was an official, approved, and totally acceptable report for the Ducklett army. Also there has been news of a bunch of traitors to both sides. Double-crossers, secret agents, and Arceus, I'm starting to sound like JustaJolt...

"And what's wrong with that?!" The Ampharos huffed at the insulting tone to her co-reporter's comment.
"Ignoring the rude comment, it looks like Navuso was found! Just outside the holding cell in a block of ice. We are unsure of what happened, but... Shaved ice anyone? I think he got cold feet! And wings, and everything else. Well, keep cool and we'll keep you updated!"


Reporter Lucario shook his head at the Ampharos' puns.
"Well, her jokes aside, we got a rude interruption from the sales Banette, so excuse me while I look for the person in charge about who they let take over this broadcast."

Cinba and amator vaccas, might I remind you that this is not an RP, but a Fanfiction and a really good one at that? There's already an RP about the war; please go there rather than here to RP, so that this thread doesn't get moved to RP, which is clearly not Navuso's intent.

While I sleep, this thread gets spammed by people taking the Fanfic, which only TWO people have the right to post in to add to the newscast, me and Riako... While I wait for a moderator to come around and delete the unneeded SPAM, I'll go ahead and make my next post. The spam has been removed with the non-rp oriented posts left alone.

"Hello everyone, we're back after a night of rest while the war was going on around us. Apparently there's even a Roleplaying thread that cropped up," the Lucario stated as the screen turned on again.

"Dunno why there's a roleplay, though. This is a serious matter, not fun and games," the Ampharos adds with a yawn as she was just waking up.

"That is true, and between the pms, palpads, and feeds, plus the stories keeping up with events, I don't know why there's a Roleplay thread at all, but be that as it may, I guess that's a better plan of attack, right?" the Lucario said in reply, then picked up some fliers.

"Alright, there's a few things I need to announce from others. All of these came in while we were taking a break for the night. First: Don't forget to drop by uranianUmbra's stand and buy buy buy! There's apparently a Shady Karp who has joined the sales as well, so be sure to check out KrazyKarp's stand as well! They are side by side and selling stuff as a team, it appears!"

After reading this, the Lucario looked up towards the camera man and raised an eyebrow. He cleared his throat to continue reading.

"Apparently Kyubey is a traitor. So wait, which side are they on now? There are so many people switching sides for this war. Well, that aside, it has also come out that another beloved user, almost on terms with Joe for the lovable scale, hoodlor has sided with the Ducklett army! How will this development change the war?!"

After a moment of uneventful silence, JustaJolt jumped in again.

"In other news, we have yet to find a way to melt Navuso from his icy prison! Was this a new trick the Ducklett have found to imprison the other side? The Duckletts say no, but what do you think?" she asked, rambling things together again.

"Erm... didn't we get word of that particular instance being the Natu critter's lack of control over his own ice powers?" Lucario asked, to which the Ampharos huffed.

"Spoilsport. It was supposed to get both teams up and at'em to get things really fired up. But yeah, apparently it was his own stupid fault that he got frozen, but nobody has figured a safe way to thaw him out, yet."

"Excuse me, pardon me! MAKE WAY! I'm CRASHING!!!"


"Unidentified Flying Pokémon!" JustaJolt yells out as she just barely avoided the tiny crashing natu fusion. Her co-anchor not moving away at all as the small avian crashed from his flight.

"Well, apparently we have breaking news. Navuso, the trapped natu griffon thing just crashed on-sit-" Lucario started, only to get interrupted.

"Not now, I have important news to update. We have to save Joe NOW! His imprisonment has been upgraded, and if we don't get to him soon, the Persians and Pyroars with different colored markings will eat him alive! Forget the hanging, we have to save him!" the Natu griffon shouted as he recovered from the crash. He shook the camera as he spoke, then dashed off to join the resistance.

"Well, we just keep getting the spotlight taken away," the Lucario said, then threw the mic into the air and walked off-scene just as the screen faded to black again.

The screen faded to white, then the image began to fade in as the light was moved away. Nobody was to be seen and there was silence, it seemed like the news report had been abandoned.

"You stupid Beldum, I'm OVER HERE!" JustaJolt's voice could be heard saying, then the screen was flooded with yellow followed by black. As the obstruction was removed, it was clear that the Ampharos had turned the camera to face towards herself. Beside her was the Lucario who had left earlier. Around his wrists were some cuffs and he had a mic in his paw.

"I'm being held captive by the station until the war reaches its conclusion," he explained as the Ampharos stepped back and cleared her throat before waving her arms around a bit.

"IT JUST IN!!! THERE IS A RANSOM FOR JOE! EVERYONE IN THE REBELLION NEEDS TO POOL ALL THEIR PD TO TRY AND GET A HUNDRED MILLION TOGETHER FOR THE RANSOM! IF WE CAN AFFORD IT, THEN JOE WILL GO FREE!!!!" she hollers at the top of her lungs into the mic, getting that screeching background sound under her words.

The Lucario rubs at his ears from the loud screeching, then gives a nod.
"As she said, if the resisting forces can get together a hundred million pokedollars in just over three hours, Joe will be saved. If not, then..."

The Natu fusion from before comes into the screen, his head taking up the full image.
"Never fear, Joe. We'll break you out of there, even if I have to burn the jail down to free you!"
The image of Navuso just vanished as the griffon was apparently teleported elsewhere, most likely due to disrupting the report, then the screen flicked off again.
