In the dark basement, something quickly moved from under the stairs
and into a corner. Yagyu weaved through the darkness of the
basement and through the furniture. She hid in the corner between a
couch and a chair.
"Whoever...or Whatever you are, I can hear you. So you might as
well come out, I won't bite." Melody shone her penlight out in
front of her, the tiny pinprick of light piercing the darkness.
Yagyu peeked her head out from her hiding spot and her blue eyes
shone bright from the flashlight. Usually she wouldn’t be scared of
a human, but since she recently shed her skin, she was much more
vulnerable then usual. She examined Melody, but didn’t move any
farther.
Yagyu was taken by surprise when Melody stepped forward and she
instantly went back into her hiding place. she didn’t realize that
the human was ‘Special’. She was now genuinely scared, and didn’t
dare to move.
Melody smiled. "Hey, I'm not gonna hurt you. Plus, you'd be better
off not hiding. I've been down here at night, and it gets pretty
cold, and the pipes leak so it's wet too."
Silently muttering to himself, Darreon leapt from roof to roof,
ticking off places where Melody might live. However, he assumed the
car her family owned would be at a workplace, so he couldn't just
go off of that. He'd sent an axe copy to gather information whilst
the plumbing was being done, and it had quickly reported back
something: an address. Now, he only needed to locate the right
house. He was on the correct street, but there wasn't much for
addresses displayed on the houses. He was working off of basic math
and guesswork, and it wasn't too efficient. Eventually, he found
precisely what he was looking for and landed, slinging his guitar
over his back as he shifted to human form. Knocking on the door, he
waited.
Blinking, Darreon opened his mouth, then closed it again. "Err.. Is
Melody home? I'm uh.. Supposed.. To tutor her today." Having shoved
his hands in his pockets, he barely managed to look like a school
tutor. "There was an incident at the school, so a bunch of us have
been dispatched to help out with studying."
Yagyu lifted her head back out of her hiding place. When she was in
the light, you could see that one of her horns had broken in half.
“Stay back, human.. I know what your kind is like” she muttered.
Melody's brother sighed. "Uh...okay." He held up a finger. "Let me
go get her." He disspapeared inside.
Melody was surprised. "What do you mean? I want to help you, I'm
not trying to hurt you." "MELODY!" Hadrian shouted. Melody glanced
up the stairs, then back at Yagyu. "I'll be back in a second, kay?"
Darreon blinked as the door was shut and shouting started to sound
behind it. Scratching the back of his head, he muttered something
to himself in an old language, possibly Latin. glancing at the
guitar on his back, Darreon willed it to change shape, becoming a
one-strapped backpack.
Melody smiled. "Monsters aren't any less than humans. Now, I'll be
right back." She headed upstairs. "What is it, Hadrian?" "Some
guy's here who says he's supposed to tutor you or something?"
Melody frowned slightly. "Okaay..." She went to the door and opened
it. "Wait, it's you!" She gave her eavesdropping brother a dirty
look and he hurried out.
"Are you too busy?" Glancing back at where Hadrian had disappeared
to, he continued. "I found something. Some kind of-" He broke off,
glancing behind himself. He'd heard something, but was unsure what.
"Can I come in?"
Ah, so you, O Mysterious
and Curious Soul, have come to seek answers in the abyss?
Hesitantly, Darreon stepped in. "Something in your base-" One of
his eyes twitched slightly. After a moment, he took a long breath
through his nose. "Might be able to help you with that. Then I can
tell you what I found."
Night, are snapped awake, his scales healed and magma coating his
body “I smell a new scent... fresh flesh... somewhere..., in the
town” he inhaled through his nose, and flames roared over his back
“she escaped”
He threw a ball of hardened magma at mr stone, and then launched,
inhaling the new scent he found “a house... but which one?” He
roared, emanating blue flames and sending them everywhere, setting
tree’s, benches, and shops on fire
