Darreon nodded, then stepped into the doorway, looking down the
stairs. Glancing back at Melody for a brief moment, he took one
step down. "Err.. You probably don't know precisely who -or what- I
am, but I'm here to help. Can I come down?"
Yagyu could faintly smell a monster coming down the stairs. “You’re
a monster who reeks of human. What are you?” She asked, it was
almost like he read her mind. She had risen up a little bit from
her hiding place.
Darreon worked his jaw. "Can I come down?" He hadn't taken a single
step or made a single motion after his first step down the stairs,
and he was clearly waiting for Yagyu to either say yes or no.
Yagyu was quiet for a second, “Yes” she hesitantly said to Darreon.
She didn’t know this monster, and she also didn’t know if they were
violent or not. If they were, she could easily be killed right now.
Darreon took a hesitant step forward, glancing at the door frame.
Stepping down the stairs, he shifted slowly. "I mean you no harm.
Will you come out?" Removing his backpack from his back, Darreon
set it on the ground. His talons were held out in front of him, as
if there were a weapon pointed at him. He could see fairly easily,
but he still couldn't see the other voice. "My name is Darreon, I'm
a daemon. Who are you?"
Yagyu couldn’t sense any hostility from him, so she slowly stepped
out of her hiding spot. “If you try anything I’ll kill you on the
spot” she bluffed. “I’m Yagyu, I’m a chimera” she said to Darreon.
A moment passed, and Darreon considered the Chimera. "What happened
to you?" His eyes were on hers, and they easily spotted both the
bluff and the vulnerability. Even before Yagyu could answer,
however, Darreon's eyes turned dark. "It was the snake, wasn't it?"
Yagyu slowly nodded, “It wasn’t only him. He was assisting someone.
Someone who is after me” she said to Darreon. If you looked close
enough, the damaged horn she had was slowly repairing itself.
"Is this someone a human?" Darreon glanced up to Melody, then
glanced back to Yagyu. The daemon was clearly thinking hard,
although all of his attention was focused on Yagyu. Even to a human
it would be clear there was more than one hundred percent of focus
available to him.
Yagyu’s body language looked a lot more relaxed now. “I don’t
exactly know what he is. But he’s not human, I’ve never met someone
like him” she said to Darreon. “Either way, I’ve lost my home,
since he finally found it” she explained.
He exhaled angrily, and ripped into the nearest tree, smoke rising
from every hole on his face, and magma leaking “Tá sé imithe agus
is é mo locht-sa é! Ní fhéadfainn é a chosaint!” He roared, letting
the tree turn to ash
Yagyu nodded, “He wears a suit and a white mask. I’ve never met
this person in my life, and that’s all the information I have” she
said to Darreon while looking down. She felt so vulnerable, yet
very safe at the same time.
Darreon blinked, his suspicions of the General still being alive
suddenly smashed. "I see. Err, not to draw any attention from you,
but-" The daemon beckoned for Melody to come down. "Would you know
anything about some kind of door? Semi-solid, partially
transparent?"
