alois wasn't one to scare easily. yes, they were technically at war, but they were literally fighting the dead. how hard could that be? he looked to his rifle, leaning against it with the barrel facing the ground. he looked to the bag next to his feet and then to the woman and one other man he saw so far. "how well are you at aiming?" he asked the three, thick accent splitting through his words and slightly broken english.

alois trailed in behind the two, looking to ryder and scoffing. “off your high horse, better a few minutes late then never arriving.” he stated bluntly. “earliness only shows anxiety. earliness in war shows stupidity.” he snarled, remembering all his father had told him. earliness gave the enemy more time to prepare, lateness disorients the enemy and gives you more time to prepare.
