I have been messing around with different ways to do the animons, and have ultimately decided (comparing the results of different "tests" ) that it's best to leave it as a recolour unless there are certain parts that absolutely need editing!

For some reason I couldn't find a shiny mega rayquaza sprite.. (imma have to look into that). And about recolouring the walking mon, im gonna say no. It's just too much effort for a small sprite. If you're wondering why it's too much effort, it's basically the same as two icon recolours & then animating it together.
