Magda was about to say that it hadn't worked, but now that Octavius had told her, it worked out. She walked over to Max and smiled. "Tank you." She was barely able to pronounce the h, so it came out more along the lines of tank.

Jason chuckled and quietly applauded her attempt.

Max downright grinned. "How do I say you're welcome but thank you?" He asked Octavius. The redhead obliged, chuckling at Mac's own muddled pronunciation. He pat Max on the back. "Very good," Octavius praised.

Andromeda nearly danced right there in the hallway. "Magda, you choose first."

Magda chuckled, her smile huge. "He did a good job with that!" She looked to Andromeda a little confused before she realized she meant for her to pick her own room first. "Oh, uh..." She glanced between the two rooms and randomly picked one. She didn't really care.

Jason did his best to not laugh since his cousin did sound a bit funny, but he kept himself in check.

Andromeda smiled, bowing her head to everyone in turn. "I'd shake hands, but...I only do that after I have made a bargin and am sealing the deal. Not my favorite gesture. Goodnight," she told them, stiffling another yawn before heading into the room Magda hadn't picked.

"Goodnight," Max said, then smiled and offered Magda a hand. "You are welcome to whatever you need. Just ask Vera for some help finding it."

Octavius translated, after praising Max's pronunciation. "I think bed sounds really good," he added, curling into Jay.

Magda was looking at Max as he spoke, then she glanced to Octavius as he translated. She reached out and shook Max's hand and bowed her head. "Tank you," She said once more, getting more of a 'd' sound in place of the 't'. "I greatly appreciate what you've done for me, taking me into your home like this. It is a gesture of kindness that won't go unreturned." Again, the translation was a bit off, but it came across the right way.

Jason agreed and waved his good night before whisking Octavius away to bed.

Octavius bid them goodnight before head out with Jason.

Vera translated for the two, letting Max head off after telling Magda she was welcome. "Shall we go make ourselves comfortable?"

Max slipped into his room, changed in the bathroom, and then climbed into bed with a smile.

Magda tilted her head for a moment before remembering that she was sharing the watch with the goddess. "Yes. Where do you think would be the best place to keep watch?" She wasn't sure how many entrances the building had, so she would let Vera pick.

Cassie smiled up at Max and motioned to the other side of the bed behind Violet who was sound asleep.

Vera shrugged. "I have laid out many charms and spells around this place. To protect and warn me of danger. If someone comes in without serious counter spells, I will know. But we can sit out in the front room. From there we can see the front entrance and the path leading into the estate."

Max lifted the covers and watched Violet, careful not to disturb her. Once in bed, he tucked the blanket around him. He smiled, glad the girls were sleeping.

"The front room sounds good." Magda glanced down both hallways before looking at Vera. "Lead the way?" She chuckled. "I still haven't quite gotten the hang of this place."

Vera smiled, nodding. "I bet. It takes some exploring to get it all sorted out. No need to worry. Someone will find you. I heard Elaine, Max's mother, say she wanted to house some freed slaves here. Ones who could pretend to be or actually be servants. Those who wished to work would be paid before being sent on their way if they choose. If they didn't want to, they could simply pretend and adjust to life as a free slave before taken to the next stop. I think it is wonderful that the family is thinking of such things. If that does happen, there will be plenty of people milling about." Padding softly, the goddess led the way to the cozy front room. It housed a fire place, some books, and elegant seating.

Magda nodded as she followed along. "That is very kind of them to do that. To open their home to those without." She wondered if she would want to live here, at least for a time. If she did get used to living there, would she want to leave? Thoughts for later, she decided. She waited for Vera to take her seat before she took hers.

"It is their son who started it. Him amd Jason, with their kind hearts. They purchased Cassie and Octavius, freed them, and have been living happily together. The twins Cassie and Max bought and adopted. It would appear to me you have become appart of this family. You and your Andromeda," Vera said, winking at Magda. She curled up in her chair, relaxed and happy to have her mortal family safe.

Magda had opened her mouth to say something, but shut it as she took notice of what Vera had said at the end. "She isn't mine... She helped me, so I'm helping her. You've all helped us, so I'm helping you." She hadn't really gotten the true meaning behind Vera's words, and thought nothing more about it. She settled herself down in a chair from which she could see out the window.

Magda smiled and chuckled. "I should be saying that to you, goddess." She bowed her head slightly, having said the term without sarcasm having meant to honor Vera as she believed she should.

Magda nodded. "Though our gods may differ from those of this land. If I may know more of you, I would like to pray to you. If you would be alright with that." She didn't want to insult Vera if she had a particular way that she wanted to be prayed to, or if she preferred someone of only one religion or something along those lines.

"You are certainly welcome to. I am a nature goddess. Flowers and harvest is my specialty but healing and love are thrown in there. At least a little. As to praying, just pray however you feel is best," Vera replied.

Magda nodded, a smile on her face. "Thank you. If you don't mind, I'm going to pray for a little." She bowed her head and clasped her hands firmly, her eyes shut and feet crossed. After several minutes, Vera could feel Magda's prayer. She was asking for her people's crops to make a good harvest, for without that they would have a great many problems during the hard winter.
