A Dangerous Rebellion

Magda nodded and once they got back she helped put away the horses.
Andromeda had taken care of the mare she borrowed before checking on Magda.
Magdalena had put the stallion back and made sure the he was all settled before she closed his gate and went to follow Max and Cassie.
Octacius stood when they entered, smiling. He had grown used to their foot falls and knew they were who they were. "Oh, thank gods," he murmured, seeing the twins. "They okay? Just asleep?" He asked,
Andromeda translated for Magda, the night starting to drain her.
Jason stood with him and sighed in relief when he saw the girls. "They're fine, just sleeping... How are they?"
Magda listened to Andromeda for a few moments before smiling. "You don't have to tell me what they're saying right now... You seem tired." She had heard the slightly slurred speech patterns and the almost sullen look to her eyes. She knew someone was tired even if they didn't know it themselves.
Octavius shook his head. He was sure one thing most people agreed on was hurting children, using them, was wrong. However, he knew enough people in power used children and they were not about to give that up. "The only way to stop a weed is to pull it up by the roots. I don't mean to start a war...but in my opinion, the only way to stop slavery is to get every single nation."
"I don't want want you to feel left in the dark. I am, but I'll make it. I'm used to it," Andromeda shrugged, giving her a small smile.
Jason nodded. "I'm with Octavius, I don't want to start a war, but it seems to need to happen. Though we'd have to find a way to run the country." He didn't even think of himself running the government, but he could see Max keeping his position as a general.
"Used to it?" Magda seemed genuinely concerned. Why was she in the dark so much?
Octavius nodded, looking over to Magdelena and Andromeda.
"Used to working while tired. Not that this is really working...more like pushing through tiredness," Andromeda clarified, reaching up to rub her eye.
Jason followed Octavius' gaze for a moment before looking back to Max. "How are those two getting on?"
"You can only do that for so long before your body has problems. You need to get some sleep. Good sleep." Magda sighed softly and shook her head.
Octavius listened to the woman talk but didn't interrupt.
Andromeds smiled and nodded. "Typically I don't. I have been getting good sleep on my own. However, I am needed now and intend to sleep very well soonish."
"They do seem to be good people." Jason smiled slightly. "How long do you think they'll stay with us before wanting to move on?"
"That's good. Sleep is very important. Without enough sleep people start seeing things. When we have someone on watch, we always have two other people with them. That way one can sleep while the other two look, then one at a time they switch out." Magda had spent many a night on a cold watch, and she knew the hazards of not getting enough sleep.
Max shrugged sadly. "No idea...but I would really like for them to stay. They are wonderful people and I trust them. They are, at least, great allies. But I feel they are going to be so much more."
"That is the best way to do it. Keep everyone healthy and happy," Andromeda said, thinking of her peers and their parties.
"I don't mean to intrude, but would you ladies like rooms for the night?" Octavius asked.
Jason nodded. "Part of the family?" He asked, having a feeling that the two women would end up being like aunts to the girls.
Magda nodded to Andromeda before looking over to Octavius. "I would be happy anywhere. Would you want me to stand guard tonight?" Her tone and expression clearly showed that she would be more than willing to do so.
Max chuckled, nodding. "Yeah, that is my though. We keep adding huh?"
Octavius was about to answer when Vera teleported into the room. She was bloody and bruised but looked furious. "I hope our Cassie took out that jerk! Confine me to a summon circle...oh no! Not I! I am a goddess and am not bound by some demonic weakness," she said, her skin healing as she talked. "I will stand guard, Magdelena. I don't sleep much anyway."
Magda was obviously very startled as a woman simply appeared out of nowhere. Since no one was rushing to attack her she paid little mind to that fact. "I think I can stand guard since you seem to need sleep a bit more than I do." It took a moment for her to realize what had happened, and the fact that the woman was able to talk to her made her do something of a double take. "H-how can you understand me? How can I understand you?" She glanced to Andromeda and then back to the woman who just appeared. "Are you like Andromeda?"
Magda's eyes widened and her jaw fell slightly. She had heard of course of gods and goddesses that took human form and lived among humans, but to actually meet one? To be in the presence of a goddess. She was a bit awestruck to say the least. "N-no, it is me who would be honored to stand by you..." The translation there came out a little off so the wording wasn't perfect. She had bowed her head slightly, and for the moment, seemed hesitant to make eye contact.
Octavius translated for the others while Andromeda translated for Magda.
"Well, two rooms are still in order. One for each of you. That way Magda can sleep when she would like too," Max said, leading the way.
Jason got up and followed along with Octavius.
Octavius smiled, leaning in to say, "If I may, it is thank you. I am not sure it'll work with the magic. I couldn't help but notice how it works for you both.
Max paused at a doorway, opening it before opening the one across the hall from it as well. "I think these two will do."
