This went on for several more minutes until Cassie had sated her hunger for the man's suffering. She then left behind something that would deter others from touching their children. She took a deep breath and padded over to the door her storm had quelled and an interesting calm had settled over her. She opened said door and looked between the two women that were on the other side, her form splattered with blood, her face and claws looked like they'd been dipped in red paint. "Sorry to keep you waiting," She had assumed they had stayed to make sure she was alright.

Violet sniffled as she clung to Hazel. "I just wanna go home..." She had thought that they were going to be slaves again. That they'd be taken away from their mom and dad forever.

Magda looked up at Cassie when she came through the door and she paused a moment, not phased by her appearance, but to bow her head slightly before stepping to the side and pointing out the bathroom to her. She figured that the woman would want to rinse off before going to see her children.

Hazel had thought the same thing. But no way was she going to let that happen. Not to her sister! She was prepared to fight tooth and nail for her. Hugging her, she brushed Violet's hair and rubbed her back gently. "Soon," she whispered.

Max had filled two cups with water and offered them to the girls. "Here. Take a few small slips. We'll get you something better when we get home. Your mom is just finishing up here," he said, before kissing the tops of their heads.

Andromeda shook her head. "No need to worry. Or be sorry. We get it. The man was stupid to take children, regardless of their mother. Something tells me he knew you are a wolf shifter. He all but asked for death."

Cassie's jowel pulled back in a smile, a bloody smile at that, but she meant it kindly. "Regardless..." She took a breath and let it out in a small sigh. "He won't be bothering me or my family again, and hopefully anyone he was acquainted with will realize that doing so is a death sentence. If you'll excuse me I will tidy myself before I thank you properly." She didn't want to get the filthy blood on them, so she padded past them and into the bathroom where she did spot cleaning and rinsed other parts that were soaked.

Violet sniffled once more and took one of the cups of water and sipped at it. "Is grandmom and grandad okay?" Her mental voice was quiet and very much like it had been when she first started to use it.

Magdalena saw her smile, and let herself smile even though she wasn't sure of what was being said.

Andromeda chuckled, nodding. "She said that he and his acquintences won't be bothering her family again. And tbat she is going to tidy up a bit."

Max smiled, rubbing their backs. "Yes, sweet pea. They are probably sleeping right now, but Uncle Jason and Octavius are watching them. You'll have to watch them though. I bet they are going to give you a great big hug and a shower of kisses when we get home. Think you can handle all those icky kisses?" Max teased lightly, trying to cheer her up and make her smile.

Hazel's lips flicked up and she sipped her own water, slowly.

"Ah." Magda glanced into the room to find a mess. She looked a little further and found that Cassie had basically displayed the man's corpse using the furniture. At least it was an improvement in the decor. She removed the bullet that was in the chamber of the rifle and put it in her pocket. She didn't want it to go off.

Violet half smiled at her father being funny, but she did want to go home. She sipped at her water, her small mind busy.

Cassie came out of the bathroom a short while later, her fur all clean, and only a little damp since she'd used some of the towels that were there to dry off. "Thank you for waiting." She smiled at the two women before shifted back into her human shape.

Andromeda was good to not look. She had seen enough unhappy endings. "No problem. Shall we go get your girls and head out?" She asked.

Hazel fidgited, ready to go. "Dad? Can we go?" She asked softly.

"Soon. Do you girls want to go outside?" He asked.

Cassie nodded. "That was my plan. I want to spend as little time here as I can, and get the girls home." She headed off to the kitchen where Max said he'd wait. "Hey," She said softly as she came into the room.

Violet nodded her head wanting to get away from this place. When Cassie came into the room she got up and ran over to bury her face into her mother's shoulder. "Shh, I got you... That man will never hurt you again," Cassie whispered.

Magda followed Cassie and glanced over at Max, her own anger evident in her lack of smile. Why would a man do this to them? They were such nice people.

Her twin had jumped up, eager to hug Cassie as well. Hazel waited though, letting her sister get her hug first. She could relax now. They were safe and she didn't need to be brave and strong. She could relax and just be a kid. Snifling, Hazel brushed away any tears, not wanting to appear silly.

Max wrapped his arms around Hazel, rubbing her back. "I've got you. You are safe and loved," he murmured. That opened the floodgates. Hazel clung to her dad, crying into his dark colored shirt. "C-Can we go?" She whispered.

Andromeda, who had followed Cassie beside Magdalena, made her way to the kitchen door and opened it. It was time to be off. One of the first steps towards healing. She would ask the whys later.

Cassie stood up with Violet and looked to Max. "Let's go home." She half shifted to be bigger and softer. She made sure to walk on the right side so that Hazel and Violet were close. She then began to hum softly, one of the songs of her tribe. It almost sounded like she was howling, but it was much softer and odd, but calming.

Violet was still sniffling, but she was held by her mom and that made it a bit better. She looked over to her twin and held her hand out to her.

Magda took the rear and made sure no one came out of the house after them.

Max nodded, walking beside her. "We've got to get the horses. Should we ride back or walk? Riding will be faster." He still rubbed Hazel's back, holding her close despite being outside.

Hazel grabbed her twins hand, holding onto her tightly. Tears streamed down her cheeks but their moms singing helped reassure her they would be okay.

Andromeda closed the door before hurrying to walk in front. She would be a barrier for the kids in case anyone came out of the forest to attack them.

"Let's ride. I'll take one of the girls or both if they'd like." Cassie assumed that Max hadn't brought a horse for her, and she didn't want to overload Razz with four bodies. Besides, she'd be happier to sink her claws into something even if it was the ground.

Violet's tears continued to fall, but at a slower pace than her twins'.

Magdalena saw nothing, heard nothing, and felt nothing. No one should ever attack children. What that man did was evil. She would not let that stand. If one person would do that to this family, more would do it after. She silently vowed to protect those two little girls until they didn't need her anymore, or until she was sent away. Her expression was practically a glare sent out behind the group.

"I want to go with momma," Hazel said, looking up at Cassie. "Razz and Dad I love but...I want to go with momma." She said softly, wiping away her tears."

Max smiled, kissing her forehead. "It's okay, love."

Andromeda brought their horses over before rubbing her hand up Magda's arm. "Kind of intense for a first adventure in a new land. But I think we both have a vested interst in this family."

Cassie nodded and moved Violet onto her shoulders before shifting so she was already on her back. She moved over closer to Max so he could set Hazel right onto her back. She would be sleeping with them tonight. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Violet settled a little further back on Cassie so that Violet could be in front of her. She wanted to hug her sister.

Magda jumped slightly as Andromeda pulled her from her thoughts, but she nodded in response. Her lips taught in a half scowl. "That man was a fool to mess with children. I will make sure it does not happen again."

Max placed Hazel on Cassie's back, ruffling her hair then Violets, affectionately. "You both are sleeping in our bed tonight. I want to know you both are safe and sound with your mom and I. There is no bed big enough for all of the family or we'd sleep there. As is, I bet your uncles are going to want to be close."

Hazel hugged him once more before settling on Cassie's back. "Love you. All of you."

Andromeda nodded. "Seeing children be hurt always killed me...that is why I did everything I could to get them out as quickly as I could. Even as a child. I could protect others because no one wanted to risk me having visible bruises. Hidden ones? Ohho...those suckers hurt way worse."

Cassie reached her head around enough to nuzzle both girls' legs once before moving back along the path home at a slow walk letting the others mount up and then she'd go faster.

Once Hazel was settled Violet reached forwards and hugged onto her sister, still sniffling softly.

Magda nodded moving over to her horse's side patting his shoulder. "I didn't have to deal with it much since our people have rules that help keep those evils at bay, and I don't have children of my own, but... When it did happen, it was dealt with swiftly." She climbed up and if asked she would explain, but until then, what rested in the past would stay in the past.

Max helped Andromeda up, now that she had no fence to climb on, before jumping onto Razz's back. He smiled to both woman before leading the way back.

Hazel hugged her mothers neck, turning to kiss her sisters cheek. "Thank you..."

Andromeda nodded. "As it should be. This land...it is going to kill itself."

Once the others had caught up, Cassie huffed and shook out her neck a little, signifying to Hazel to hold on as she was going to start moving faster.

Violet hugged Hazel a bit tighter and held on as they moved back home.

Magdalena nodded and moved her horse up beside Andromeda's so she could help offer stabilization if needed. "I can only hope that I can help in what little way I can."

Razz raced after Cassie, glad she and their smaller humans were okay. He could sense something bad had happened but had no way of knowing what. Just the ability to comfort them. Max pat the horses side, glad to have his buddy there.

Hazel hung on, smiling into Cassie's fur.

"That's a good plan. I would like to protect them as well. Both of those girls seem so sweet...and their family is so kind and loving," Andromeda sighed, happily.

Cassie looked over at Razz as she started to pick up her pace, not wanting the girls to fall off, and ignoring the stones that hurt her feet. She'd soon be on the soft dirt of the forest and from there she'd soon be home. It was more important that they got the girls home.

About halfway home Violet got herself under control and settled down.

"They are quite sweet. As long as you stay with them I will be keeping an eye on them, but I would like to make sure that is okay with Cassie and Max. I want to respect their wishes, and if they would rather a stranger doesn't watch their children, then that is completely up to them and is honestly a good idea." Magdalena was speaking with a seriousness that made her whole conversation with herself quite amusing.

Razz stayed close, he knew their game. Though, he wasn't going to play with the girls on Cassie's back.

Hazel fell asleep on Cassie's back, holding on tight.

"I hope they don't mind us staying close," Andromeda agreed. "Even if it is just visiting every now and then."
