A Dangerous Rebellion

Octavius smirked before reaching for a sandwich and offering it to Jay as he took a bite from another one. "I could eat a bit...or a lot."
Jason was grinning as he ate the sandwich Octavius handed him. "We brought plenty of food, so eat as much as you would like."
Octavius nodded, snagging some potatoe salad as well. "It all is so very good."
"I'm glad you like it." Jason finished his sandwich and grabbed some of the pudding.
"What's that?" Octavius asked, looking at the food that Jay had snagged.
"It's a sweet desert, pudding. This kind is tapioca." Jay offered a spoonful to Octavius. "It tastes fine, but the texture is a bit odd. There are these small, soft orbs of the tapioca in the vanilla flavored pudding."
Octavius leaned in, taking the bite and was surprised when he didn't need to chew. Rolling it around his mouth, he cocked his head. "This is strange...I think I like it."
"Yeah? It took me a couple tries to start liking it," Jason pulled out a bit more onto his own plate and scooted a bit closer to Octavius. "Here, we can share my plate."
Octavius wiggled closer, nodding. "I'd like that. Jason? What was your childhood like?" he asked, curious. The redhead wanted to know more about Jay and what made him tick. How he'd become so wonderful.
"My childhood?" Jason took a deep breath and left the plate on his lap as he leaned back on his arms so he could think. "Well, to be quite honest it was typical of the upper class... My mother would stay home with the house, but she had her friends to go be with, and my father would go off on business trips. Once in a while he'd take me and or my mother with him, but they usually didn't have much time for me." He rubbed the back of his head and chuckled. "I had all the freedom in the world yet I felt lonely, but I suppose it did get worse when mom died. The doctors said it was something in her heart that killed her. Something was there that wasn't supposed to be. Funny enough that's when they made time for me. He would take me out for ice cream or for something fun with mom for the month or two that they said we had left. After she died dad went on longer trips... Still goes on them. That's where he is now." He shrugged. "I always did have the butlers and maids to play with though. I'd help them in exchange for play. That way the work got done quicker and we could romp for longer. I guess that taught me a respect for them and an understanding of hard work..."
Octavius listened, his eyes intently focused on Jay as he talked. "I'm sorry about your mothers death. But I am sure she knew and knows she has a wonderful son. It might sound silly, but I think it's wonderful you helped. I just...people don't normally do that and the fact you did is proof of the good that is you," the redhead said, shyly trying to hide behind his hair as he finished talking.
Jason smiled and reached over very gently, almost hesitantly, to move Octavius' hair out of his face so he could lean in and kiss him. "My mother went when it was her time. If she had stayed longer she would have had to suffer with an ungodly amount of pain... It might sound callus and hard, but, I'm glad she passed when she did."
"I understand. I have seen guards and slaves suffer needlessly, our masters more concerned with work being done then the pain they are put through...it isn't right. But it is life and life is not fair," Octavius murmhred.
"It isn't right, it is life, life isn't fair, but life is also about change, and I intend to help that change find it's footing and get moving." Jason said rubbing Octavius' back trying to comfort him a bit.
Octavius smiled, leaning into Jay. "You will change the world. I can feel it. But as I am not psychic, I can't say it is set in stone. I just feel it in my heart. You already are. Just being wonderfully you. Thank you, Jason. For being kind when no one is watching. For giving and expecting nothing back. For liking me as much as I like you," he said, smiling shyly before kissing him. "And that. I really like doing that."
Jason wrapped his arms around Octavius and kissed him again. "That's god, because I like doing that too," After kissing him once more, Jason offered Octavius a spoonful of the pudding. Not trying to baby him, but be sweet and almost cute.
Octavius, who hadn't been babied a day in his life, found he quite liked being pampered. He happily ate the spoonful while offering Jason a spoonful as well.
Jason chuckled and accepted the spoonful and continued feeding Octavius, practically oblivious to the issue of Cassie.
