A Dangerous Rebellion
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Private RP → A Dangerous RebellionAfter a while Jason looked over at his cousin. "Hey Max, what are we doing after this? We could drop some of this stuff off and go for that hike to watch the sunset."
"Hmm, we could go up Black Ridge to the cliffs... Beautiful view up there." Jason offered, remembering the times they'd go up and just sit to watch the day go by. "You remember right? That little spring-fed pond and the waterfall? And those raspberries..."
"A waterfall and raspberries?" Octavius asked, setting down the sandwich. "That sounds wonderful."
Jason nodded. "It is. I wonder if we can find any of our shirts... It's been a while since we've been up there."
"Why would you want to? Why would you cover up?" Octavius blurted out before he could stop himself. His hand slapped over his mouth and he gasped at his own forwardness. He rather admired Jason shirtless.
Jason's face turned a few shades redder and he couldn't help but laugh a bit. "I find I burn easily in the sun, so I don't usually go shirtless, but since we're in the shade I'm okay," He gently removed Octavius' hand from his mouth so he could kiss him.
Octavius, beet red but happy, kissed him back. "I'm glad.and if you burn, I might be able to help with that. It isn't true healing, but I watches many healers use water to help heal burns and can sort if mimic that."
Jason grinned and chuckled, happy to kiss him. "Then for the rest of the day, my shirt will not find me," He moved his shirt away and into a bag. "We can test your ability and I can make you happy,"
Octavius grinned, hiding behind his hair slightly. Lightly, he reached out to trace Jason's chest with his fingertips. "I like this plan. I like it a lot."
Jason's next breath was stuttered under Octavius' fingers. "I think I like it as well," He reached over and tucked the hair behind his ear and brushed his thumb over the warrior's cheek.
Octavius caught Jays fingers, holding them against his cheek. The simple kind touch nearly breaking him. He kissed Jays fingers, needing to return the gesture. "I don't think I will ever understand...all my life...I believed I did something horrible. What ungodly act did I commit to have them toss me away? I was a baby...I had to have deserved the punishment. That is how I saw it," he whispered, voice so low, he didn't even know if he was talking. "You make me feel like I didn't do anything wrong. Like I didn't deserve any of it...I think that is true."
Jason muttered something so unintelligible that he might not even have said anything. He pulled Octavius into a tight, firm hug. "You didn't do anything wrong, you didn't deserve anything bad... You are a good, wonderful person... I swear this to you. I will never lie to you. I swear it. Octavius, you did nothing wrong, and you deserved better."
Octavius pressed close, fighting back tears as he pressed his face against Jays shoulder. "If not in this life, then the last? I had to have done something...why else would people do those things? I just...it doesn't make sense, Jay. I've followed it blindly. Anything else hurts to think about, to try to justify."
"Why should you be judged and punished for something done in another life? That's not fair," He held on tightly and made sure his voice didn't crack. "Octavius, what did they do to you? No, you don't have to tell me, but whatever they did, nothing can justify it. It might be explained, but nothing could make it justified in my eyes. I will make them pay for what they did to you... I promise you." He lost it as a twin set of tears trailed down his cheeks, but he managed to keep his voice.
Octavius pulled back when he felt Jays' tears. But only so that he could try to wipe them away. There was so much...one day, I will tell you everything...piece by piece for now. So long as you are safe, so long as I get to be around your positivity, I feel like I can keep believing I got it wrong."
Jason nodded. "I will strive to be a shining light of positivity for you for the rest of our days," He leaned his head in so that it was against Octavius' forehead. "You have done nothing wrong."
Octavius nodded, hugging him tightly. "I have....now I have...but under threat to my life. I know that it doesn't make it okay but it explains it...I am not the only one at fault for those."
Jason shook his head. "No, no that wasn't you, that was them," His voice was on the verge of cracking. "You are not to blame for that. You are a good person Octavius, you have done nothing wrong."
Octavius's lips trembled and his hands shook, but he nodded, softly. If Jason said he was not at fault, then he was not at fault. Curling himself all but in Jays lap close, he began to relax, tension running off his shoulders.
