A Dangerous Rebellion

Octavius followed, shyly reaching his hand towards Jay's.
Jason caught the movement and happily held Octavius' hand. "Hey, you hungry yet? We could lay out lunch and let the other two come over when they're ready."
"I am and would like that. Should we put out a blanket or just sit in the sand?" Octavius asked, grinning as he squeezed Jayson's hand.
"You nuts? Blanket of course. Sandy butt is no fun for anyone." Jason laughed as he got out the blanket and started laying it out.
Octavius laughed, helping Jay spread it out before snagging the basket. He began pulling out the spread of foods for lunch, staying close to Jay.
Octavius hid behind his hair, his cheeks flushed. He loved the attention. He was simply unused to it. Leaning in, he kissed Jay's cheek.
Jason smirked and tilted his head so that as Octavius aimed for his cheek, he could catch his lips.
Octavius let out a startled squeak that made him blush harder but he didn't pull back. Instead, he reached a hand out, holding it against Jay's cheek while he steadied himself with his other hand.
Jay's smirk could be felt clearly through the kiss, and he had heard the comment from Max about them. He got a wicked idea and carefully adjusting himself he half rolled Octavius so he was in the "dip" position as if they'd been dancing.
The redhead's arms had tightened around Jay, holding them together. He felt completely safe, just surprised. He grinned back through the kiss, enjoying himself and Jason, immensely. Ready to do him one better, Octavius decided to let his showmanship come out as he manipulated the air around them, making little sparks using fire and chemicals found around them in the air. Literally making sparks fly, the freed slave smirked back.
When they had to break for air Jason grinned. "I really meant what I said about you being awe-inspiring..."
"I think you are the awe-inspiring one, Jay." Octavius only blushed harder, grinning. "Thanks. I'm sorry if I startled you, Cassie," Octavius said, noting her and Max holding each other. "Oh, man...I didn't even think about your hearing...It wasn't too loud, was it?"
Jason shook his head. "Nah, I'm just a plain guy," He waited until everything was settled before he hugged Octavius. "You're a real nice fella, you know that?"
"Oh good! Sorry for startling you, still," Octavius said, leaning into Jay. Scoffing, he shook his head. "You're the truly nice one...I am kind of afraid...whenever my life gets good, when I start to feel happy, that tends to be when it all is ripped away and followed by a lot of bad," octavius confessed in a whisper. "I know you won't hurt me...but I am terrified I will wake up or something bad will happen now."
"You don't have to be afraid, this is very much real, and I will do my best to make sure nothing bad happens to you." Jason gently hugged Octavius, hoping to reassure him and comfort him.
Octavius hugged him back, enjoying the comfort he got from Jay. "As I will do for you."
Jason was happy to hug him. "Then since we'll be working together we can keep each other from sadness and sorrow, for we'll be each other's happiness."
Octavius smiled, nodding. "A good plan."
