A Dangerous Rebellion
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Private RP → A Dangerous RebellionOctavius let her get the door this time, promising himself he'd get it next time. "Thank you," he told her softly.
Octavius followed behind Jason as well, knowing that was the expected place for him. He was surprised he felt wrong there. A day. Not even a full day, and he'd grown used to walking next to Jason. He liked that.
Cassie waited for Max to start running and she would keep pace right behind him without any trouble. She wondered if there'd be a horse for her, but since she didn't know how to ride she'd probably just run alongside them, or further behind so she wouldn't spook the horses.
Octavius had grinned, sprinting along behind Jay. "I can ride. Not well, but well enough," Octavius said.
"I have no idea how to ride..." Cassie said as she shifted back into her human shape, not breathing heavily at all. "I could just run alongside you guys... Or behind if I scare the horses..." She didn't want to ask to ride with Max, but, what would she say if he asked her to ride with him?
Octavius looked up at Jay, really liking the idea of riding with Jason. Stepping closer, he nodded. "I think it'd be good if I rode with you. I can protect you that way too."
Jason climbed up into the saddle with ease and offered Octavius a hand. "Climb aboard then!" His signature grin etched into his lips.
Octavius stepped closer, taking Jason's hand and lifting the ground beneath his feet to give himself a boost. Sliding on behind Jason, he paused. Should he wrap his arms around Jason? Or just hope he didn't fall off?
Jason adjusted his grip on the reigns and glanced over his shoulder. "You're gonna want to hang on," He chuckled, inwardly happy at the thought of Octavius' arms holding him. It was much like a prolonged hug.
Octavius hesitantly wrapped his arms around Jason's waist. "Okay...I'm good." His chest wasn't flush with Jay's back quite yet and his arms were not yet tight enough to hold on completely. But Jason's scent filled his nose and Octavius relaxed, enjoying it.
Jason shrugged and spurred the horse on into a fast run, not to make Octavius fall off, but for the rush of the wind. He laughed as they galloped, his hands gripping the reigns keeping them in control.
Octavius gasped, his arms tightening on Jay's waist. He pressed forward, hurrying his face against Jason's shoulder for a moment as he got used to the speed. Jason's laugh rumbled through him, making a shiver run down his spine. When he was okay, Octavius looked up. His own laughter bubbled out of him and into the space between Jay's ear and shoulder.
Jason felt the tightened grip and his grin widened, but when he heard the laughter that only made things better. He spurred the horse on and they picked up a bit of speed as they rounded a bend in the road.
Octavius's laughter changed as he realized the chance they took around the corner. He was having a blast and trusted Jay. But his arms still tightened around the man's waist as he roared with laughter. The sound shocked him completely, making him stop for a slit second before starting anew, even harder this time.
