Nat growled as she paused in the air, her wings keeping them in one place. "His name is Danny and he is my brother! If you actually cared about him you wouldn't be so mean to him!" She caught sight of Alex and she roared. "Get out of his head!" Nat carefully maneuvered Danny into her arms and turned her back towards Alex so neither could see each other. "Are you okay? What- What should I do?" She didn't want him anywhere near Alex, but the police were there and if something went wrong they might start shooting and they might hit Danny. She knew she could resist Alex's assaults, but what could he do to Danny? To her brother?

Danny reached up, cupping her face in his hands. "I-I'll be okay. Set me down and I'll distract them. You run. Get the other, okay? It'll just be for a little while. He won't hurt me. Not if he wants you guys to come to him. Make a plan. Get the whole group together and make a plan," Danny told her, surprised and glad his voice stayed even. "I don't think they will hurt you. He wants you. He won't do anything to seriously hurt you."

"No!" Nat was startled by her own outburst. "I can't do that! I won't do that!" She leaned her head against his. "I won't let him touch you... Your parents either... Danny, don't make me do that... If he wants me then he can have me. You he can hurt... You said it yourself, he won't hurt me... I can't be controlled by him, but you... You could be..." She looked up at him and shook her head. "No, I'll fly us away from Alex and you teleport to get the others... It'll be much faster..." She didn't want to put Danny in danger and hated that he suggested it. There had to be another way.

"...he is stopping me from teleporting. I don't know how. Maybe if we get far enough away he'll be unable to reach me but they will shoot you! Nat, I can't stand that," Danny murmured. "The police will stop any harm for a little while as they figure things out. It'll be okay."

"Let the boy go or we will be forced to shoot," one of the men yelled, a helicopter circling in the distance. The wings carried through the air, giving off a high buzz.

"Angel can heal me if we can get to her fast enough," Nat glanced up at the helicopter then back to him. "But, Danny..." She slowly lowered the pace of her wing beats so that they would land. "Swear you won't hurt him!" She shouted at his parents, the glare in her eye signifying a consequence should he be harmed.

The two scoffed as if she were crazy. "I am a man of god, creature. He is safer under my care," his father replied, making Danny glare at him. "Fly free and fast, sis. I will see you for dinner. I think taco's sound good," he told her, trying to cheer her up and reassure himself as well. He hugged her fiercly before stepping back.

"And the creature who stands by your side created me! You call yourself a man of God yet you know nothing of how to treat others!" Nat looked down at him and pulled him into a hug. "Please Danny, let me carry you with me... We'll fly past the city so they can't find us... Don't make me leave you with them..."

"We could give it a try...maybe I can teleport once out of his sight...okay, let's try it," Danny whispered, hugging her again. Speaking louder, he yelled, "Leave her alone! Nat is better then you'll ever be!"

His father sputtered and strlde forward. "Kit, you will come here!" Alex, meanwhile, was debating taking Danny's mind by force.

Nat swallowed and looked over at Danny's father and then Alex and then looked back to Danny. "Danny, I have a better idea... Just trust me, okay?" She pulled him into a hug before letting him go and turning towards his father. She half shifted into the huge monstrosity that Alex had made her to be. "I swear on my life that you will pay for what you've done..." She growled before running off into the trees, soon vanishing from sight. She then used a small basilisk to run around the clearing to the unguarded cars where she climbed in and hid beneath the seats using the Jagagua lizard to keep herself snug in a spot where no one would be able to see.

Danny trusted her. He held his head high and squared his shoulders, refusing to move until forced. He met Alex's eye, telling the strange man he was going to die. Tight lipped, Danny watched his parents approach, an officer coming to check on him. They all began to talk, but Danny tuned it out, focusing on Alex and what was being said to or about him. Danny was shuffled into a car and taken back to the city. Back to the local police station. He remained steadfastly silent.

Nat had lucked out and had gotten into one of the police cars that were in the envoy, but she wasn't in the one that Danny had gotten into. She snuck herself into the groove of the officer's shoe, and thankfully he didn't step on any gum as he escorted Danny inside the station. She poked her head out and spotted Danny, but there were too many eyes on him, so she couldn't get onto him. Instead she stayed there until a better opportunity presented itself.

Danny remained straight backed as they took him to an interrogation room. He would not talk. He was waiting for the others. Glaring at Alex and his parents, he was proud of the fact he didn't break.

"You don't have to talk, Kit, we already know what's going on. You ran away and stole this man's experiment with a demon," his father said.

Danny bristled, ready to reach out and slap the man. "She is my sister. She is my friend and has treated me better in the months I have known her then you did in the decade you had me. I would like to leave and go home. Not to hell with you two," he spat, folding his arms and thinking of a spot on tbe wall to block Alex out.

The officer in the room frowned before shaking his head. "You're confused son. You were kidnapped after you foolishly let out that demon. But you are safe here."

During the movement, Nat slipped under the boot of the officer that was going with them into the room. She waited there until she could move under the table and then under Danny's chair. Hearing him defending her made her heart swell, and hearing him say he wanted to go home with her made up her mind. Her moment was now. She made her way over to Alex's feet and made sure she was behind him before she shifted swiftly into an Inland Taipan and bit his ankle injecting as much venom as she could before she was found. He would need medical attention immediately if he was to survive. That would get him away and his focus away from Danny. She shifted back into her human shape. "I am no experiment. I am Nat, Danny's sister, and he said he would like to go home!" She was ready for whatever happened next. She expected the officer to shoot at her, and if he did she would shift into a half dragon so her scales would at least slow the bullet. Since she was on the other side of the room from Danny, she wasn't worried about him getting shot.

Alex hissed lurching out to slap Nat. Danny lunged, tackling the man to the ground. "You do not touch my sister! You don't slap her!" He roared, getting himself between Alex and her. Alex spat at Danny, looking down at his leg before fleeing the room. His influence left and Danny could teleport once more. He snatched away the gun from the man, leaving it outside the door. Any other weapons he had at his belt went with it.

"Kit!" His father snarled, striding forward to hit him. Danny shoved him back with his power so that his father hit the open air.

"My name is Danny. You killed Kit. You killed the boy I was and I am never going back. I live with Nat and we are happy. She is my sister and we protect and look out for each other. You...you need to leave me alone! Stay away from me," Danny said softly. His shoulders were shaking with restrained anger. He stepped back towards Nat, shielding her.

Nat put her hand on Danny's shoulder as she moved beside him. "You... You are the monster here. You are no man of God. No good man would treat someone so cruelly as to kill them... You killed your own son... Choked and squashed him... But now he is my brother... He is no longer yours... If I find you anywhere near him, I will show you how much of a monster I really am..." She looked to the officer, any semblance of anger was gone. "Please forgive me for causing a ruckus, I was just coming to pick up my family." She didn't bother to look at Danny's father as she gently pulled Danny into a hug. "Let's go Danny, there's nothing left here." She figured that teleporting would be easier than her trying to force them out past all of the other officers.

Danny took a deep breath, turning into Nat and hugging her. "Home sounds good," he murmured. The officer blinked, confused by it all. "I have no idea what is going on but I intend to look into it," he said, taking a step forward. Danny shook his head. "Look into them," he said, gesturing to his parents. Then he teleported Nat and himself to Angel's living room. He was shaken and upset but held onto Nat tightly.

Nat didn't let go of Danny, and shifted into a larger half reptilian shape so as to surround him in what she hoped would be a comforting embrace. "How are you?" She asked quietly after a few moments of silence. She prayed that Alex hadn't gotten help in time and was dead. For all she knew, he might've died on the street.

Angel had heard Nat's voice and came out of the kitchen to see them hugging in the living room. "Are you two okay? What happened?" She knew something was up for there not to be happy tones and laughter.

Sebastian popped his head around the corner as well, curious. "Skydiving not go as planned?" He asked, head cocked to the side.

Danny took a deep breath, clinging to Nat still. "Skydiving was good...until we were headed back...we ran into some not fun people...Alex sprung a trap. He brought my parents in on it...and tbe police," he explained.

Angel gasped and moved forwards to add her own arms to the hug letting her healing powers fix any physical pains between them. "Oh my God,"

"I bit Alex and with luck he's dead..." Nat added, tightening her grip on Danny a little. "His parents should be getting investigated and will never be bothering him again."

Sebastian shook his head, moving to join the group. "I should have come with you both...if only to have been a barrier...you both are okay? Hopefully he is keeled over," he sighed.

Danny shrugged. "They will stay as long as it takes for them to wiggle their way out. They won't stay long....it is my word against his and no proof, anymore."
