Caught my first shiny yesterday and unlocked the mega-stone trades today. Probably that's how mega-stone trades are unlocked.

@Red-Hatter, actually no ^^ the trades change daily and every once in a while mega stone trades come up ^^ If I remember correctly, you only need super rod for it :) (or maybe even the rod before it... can't remember XD )

Well... That's a thing haha. I wonder if there is a suggestion yet about whether to include them for a beach trade... Or maybe Riako has one planned but hasn't included it yet?

Not only is that already marked down in both rod sections where Wailmer is found, but it is mentioned in the Bar Speed section how its speed is extremely slow but quite a rare catch...

So, I can't seem to find an answer anywhere, so I thought I'd ask it here since it involves the Emera Beach and the items there.

What is the use for the Shoal Shell and Shoal Salt? What maniac is she referencing that wants these items SO badly?

Shoal Shell is needed for the Water Stone (when available)
Shoal Salt is needed for the Rare Candy (when available)

If you're running short on either, you can also switch them in for their counter part. So far, there's no actual NPC-maniac, so they're pretty much worth what the Shop would pay for it in my opinion, which really isn't a lot ^^'

I've been fishing with my Super Rod for a long time, and I haven't came across any starters or the Strange Ornament.

@Chihiro, starters are one of the most difficult to get, and Strange Ornament is a very rare item [that's why it's so expensive]. All I can say is that you have to try, because even if catching them is really really hard, it's not impossible.
I was struggling with catching Huntail - it was the only one pokemon I needed to obtain a mega stone and I finally got it recently for the first time. It's all the matter of luck and your stubbornness.

Question: the guide says that you can tell if a Pokemon is shiny or retro without adopting. I assume this means they will be in a separate stack/pile from the normal ones? Like two stacks for Tentacool, one for regulars and one for Retros?
