Elias laughed quietly.

"I don't... remember talking about that."

His eyes flickered gray, then blue, then gold.

He reached up to brush his hair away, but his entire body glitched out of existence for a split second, before returning to normal.

A message board appeared in front of Alair.

[Constellation [Fleet-Footed Messenger] calmly states that Incarnation Elias Winter is not normal.]
[Constellation [Tea is at Noon] sighs quietly, watching Incarnation Elias Winter.]
[Constellation [Thousand-Lives Warrior] is concerned about her rein- incarnation.]
[Constellation [A Crow Cries Upon the Shoulder of the Spear Struck Hero] kindly asks [Thousand Lives Warrior] to get the fxck away from Incarnation Elias Winter.]

She opened her mouth slightly. Her constellation's warning seemed accurate enough. Alaire could sense that the truth was a tale of tragedy. And [Thousand-lives Warrior] had claimed Elias as her reincarnation. Was Elias's soul an older one that had lived through multiple different realities? Doomed to always be chasing something he could never quite see, here to atone for some mistake in the past?

She decided to try something.

"[Fleet-footed Messenger], what can you tell me about the one called Elias Winter?" She would try the others next if she could.

Well this was... interesting. And vague. Alaire had no clue what any of it meant.

As soon as she read the third message, the message board blinked out of existence, and a skull-splitting headache surged through Alaire's head.

She sank to the ground, her head feeling like it was going to split in two. Who was Twilight, and what was it hiding? She could barely think, she could barely move. It was as if the gaze of the entity was pinning her to the ground, its intense stare driving lasers into her head.

"[Fleet-footed Messenger], are you alright?" She managed to grit out. If Twilight killed her constellation, she would not be in a good place.

Well, Alaire figured out who the knight of annihilation was. She still accepted Elias's help, and sat up slowly, her head still spinning. It was as if the world was fuzzy at the edges, slowly coming back into focus. She was beginning to feel nauseous... Or maybe it was the pit of dread in her stomach.

"Fxck, fxck, flippity-fxck. That was the worst migraine in the world." Alaire was nervous. Could incarnations kill each other? Could incarnations kill her? And what would those scenarios mean for her?

So now Alaire lived ina a dichotomy of two worlds. This supposed princess was likely the purple-haired warrior from Elias's dreams. It was not a coincidence that Twilight had attacked her during her questioning. But was the prophet someone metaphysical, or someone in their party? Namely... Perceval?

And why was Elias dangerous? Hypothetically, if he was a reincarnation, his past selves may be dangerous, and kernels of those people may remain. But Alaire was going to be open-minded. She couldn't judge Elias based on just this.

Yohan is... well, just in spectating mode. Whatever it is, that is going on between Elias, Alaire's constellation and the so-called prophet, is clearly not doing any good. If the case of Elias being, possibly, a reincarnator is true. Well, it still change the fact that, in this life, Elias is well.. Elias.

The actions of his past that the other clearly doesn't remember, shouldn't change the fact that Elias saved both his and Alaire's life.

So who was he to judge on someone's complicated past life? Plus, they have plenty of time.. Time for them to slowly remember things.

It was time to table this crap. Her head still felt like it was going to explode, and she could parse it out. Elias was the knight, but not a reincarnator? He didn't reincarnate people, or he didn't reincarnate? Her inventory was bareboned. Unless the princess was feeling particularly possessive of her shards of train glass, Alaire had nothing of her.

But perhaps it was a philosophical question. Knight serves monarch. Knight pledges fealty to the princess. The question becomes 'does the princess view her darling knight as property?'

And then there was Yohan, who was staring back at her. She had collapsed in the middle of the tracks for seemingly no reason. He sure as hell couldn't see her status window from there. There wasn't even a glimmer of concern in her face. How absolutely rude.

Yohan sighs, and ruffed back his hair. It had become a habit at this point. Without saying anything, he walked up to Alaire, and lended her a hand. Perhaps the nicest thing he has done for her during the whole entire time they've known eachother. Which did he mention, wasn't long enough for them to spill their life story yet?

So at the end of the day, he has no rights to ask about anything from Elias, when all the poor boy had done, was to save their lives.

"Thank you, Elias. Thank you Yohan." She accepted the hand the businessman offered her, and stood up. Black spots clouded her vision, and she almost fell back down again. She inhaled and exhaled, counting to four. Fight, Alaire, fight.

As for her party, she decided to withhold her judgement. For now, they were allies thrown together by the apocalypse.

And as for the incarnations, she catalogued their reactions, but put them in the back of her mind. She didn't want to deal with this. Not right now.
