"...are you going to enlighten me on who those people are, or
continue to mutter their names under your breath indignantly? Cuz
face it Miysaki, dear, this is your current reality." Alaire
sighed.
Twilight, what questions could you answer? Alaire thought to
herself, wondering if allying herself with the scary constellation
might actually be her best move.
"Asaryun Hyung... he's a swordsman. He's a cool guy. And Hwaryeon
is his wife... and she's an Ego weapon. It's complicated. It makes
sense when you meet them."
Miyasaki laughed quietly, smiling genuinely.
"They're the only ones who've never backstabbed me."
"They seem... nice. Where are they now?" She needed to calm down.
Alaire took a deep breath, sinking into familiarities and letting
go of her anger.
What could she even do next? As she looked around, a sense of
desolation settled within her, a feeling she had rarely experienced
before. The weight of her solitude bore down heavily on her
shoulders, and she couldn't help but wonder if her magnetic persona
had failed her this time. Here, in this desolate place, her people
skills seemed useless. There was no one to understand or relate to.
Her mind swirled with conflicting thoughts, unsure of the next step
to take. Should she venture further into the unknown, risking more
encounters with the unstable inhabitants of this world? Or should
she retreat and try to find a way back to her companions, hoping
they could help her navigate through this treacherous
landscape?
She realized that sometimes, even the most charismatic of
individuals could find themselves at a loss, yearning for direction
in a world that seemed to have none.
What if she really was destined to become the manipulative villain
Miyasaki thought she was?
"Don't be. It's just how it is. Every single time I think I'm
taking a step forward, I die, and every connection I had is
immediatly washed away. There's nothing I can do 'bout it."
"I wish I could remember, but I suppose I'm not a super
fancy regressor like you. Or Elias. Or Perceval. Heck, even the
constellations harass me here." Alaire sighed, just worn out.
"...well, that's rude. There's clearly something wrong with you
too, but you don't hear me harping on it." Alaireriased her head
bleakly, shooting Miyasaki her deadliest stare. "Don't insult Elias
again."
"Please. I flirt with everyone. It's practically a defining
behavior of my character. Falling for someone has never happened,
and I don't expect him to be the first. Although his warrior
princess sounds like she's terrible for his mental health." Alaire
looked away. "And if you're calling me a catalyst of change,
well... I'll take the compliment."
"...You know, any more talking about the kid's past... it'll break
him. That glitching will only get worse. You're messing with the
strands of fate, here."
"Sorry, I'm going to need a definition on that... Strands of fate?
What does that officially mean?" Alaire barely resisted rolling her
eyes, another thing she didn't understand.
