[Ended] Ōmagatoki
Forum-Index → Roleplay → [Ended] Ōmagatoki"I voted Idris. I found it suspicious that they voted for Setsuna, and as soon as it became obvious that Mei was to be majority voted out, they retracted their vote. On the official record, only mine and Artemis's names are listed as voting for Setsuna, making us look suspicious for not voting for the true Yokai. I think it was a calculated move. They let Mei go. On the other hand, one of the people who voted Mei has become the new Jōrogumo. And Mei voted for herself, further confusing things. My conclusion is that Idris has a high potential to be the [role who can kill]."
She did not tell Lucian that she was suspicious of him too. Her answer was fueled on logic. Paiyoon wondered if he would vote her for her analysis. If he was Yokai, he assuredly would. It was a test to see if they both lived through another night.

Paiyoon needed to know. The math could send her vote south in an instant. Lucian still appeared to be mulling over her words. Idris was still her primary target.

But that was ridiculous. Her first assessment of him had painted him as a damaged straight shooter. He had nothing to live for, but his memories still seemed to provide him with a code of morals. If it was an act, he deserved the win.
If Idris was wrong, they would be down to six. Then someone would die. They'd be down to five. There would be a vote forced at final five because abstention would result in them losing the game. Two more shots. One could only hope that Idris was right. How people voted this day cycle would tell her a lot. Perhaps she would be able to crack the case after all.

Lucian Arbred's POV
What is she, a detective? Lucian didn't voice the thought out loud, because although it was not intended that way, he thought it might come out rude and sarcastic. To be honest, he was impressed at her analysis.
He was not quite sure if this was the right call to make or not, but the way Paiyoon seemed so frantic to help them all out...
Well.
It could be an act, but his intuition stated, with a strange sort of certainty, that she was innocent. She was most likely innocent.
Lucian looked carefully at Paiyoon, tilting his head. "...you're sure the answer is Idris? It's not a bad suspicion. It's just..." He inhaled sharply, a worried expression spreading upon his face. He crossed his arms.
"...I don't want to be wrong. We can't have another innocent die on us."
He gazed directly at Paiyoon.
"...I'm willing to vote him. If you're sure. I just want to choose whatever is most likely to bring as many of us out of this alive."
...
"...let's not let Hanako die for nothing. I don't want that."
This whole situation was so messed up.
The clock was ticking. Lucian knew he had to throw the dice, cross his fingers, and hope they didn't come up snake eyes.
He barely knew these people. It was a leap of faith, with scarcely any logic.
Lucian preferred not to risk things. Not to leap right in.
He preferred to think as many steps ahead as possible. He wanted to be sure.
But if pure intuition was what he had to vote on...
He exhaled.
Pure intuition would be what he had to vote on.
"This is our last free shot and we have to take it," she said quietly. "If Idris explains why he changed his vote, I would consider retracting my vote for him. I don't want another innocent to die either, but this is the best lead I have."
She glanced over at her victim surreptitiously. She hadn't been covert about her vote; everyone had been able to overhear the fact she wrote Idris's name down. Just come and talk to me, she thought. Explain your reasoning, please.
She addressed Lucian again. "My suspicions aside, who do you think it is? Idris is the only name you're not allowed to say."

Lucian Arbred's POV
Lucian paused, looking thoughtful. "I haven't spoken with Setsuna. I don't understand why people voted for him." He tapped an index finger up against the side of his face. "...but... I don't have any solid reason to believe he's innocent, either."
But...
"...what you mentioned about Idris could make him potentially suspicious. Artemis seems like he doesn't care at all about this whole ordeal. He didn't even seem to care at the thought of innocents dying. And of course, that could sound suspicious, but.."
Lucian shook his head. "...it's all so confusing, and circumstantial. I spoke with Elehah, and it feels like there is something... Slightly off about him, but I'm not quite sure."
He tilted his head and gazed directly at Paiyoon.
"...and then there's you. Who, for some reason I can't fathom... It feels like you're innocent to me. I can't quite explain it."
A sad look came upon Lucian's face.
I don't want to be wrong. I don't want anyone else to die...
"...you just... Feel innocent. But I agree, Idris doing that is suspicious. Should we confront him about it?"
Idris
That was the conclusion that Paiyoon ended up with it seems like. But on what basis could Elehah trust her judgement, actually, what if she was trying to deverge his judgement, and kill an innocent.
"Miss Paiyoon, on what basis can we trust your judgement on?" He interrupted.
He groaned.
Another vote, so soon?
After retracting his vote, he supposed that action might've been suspicious. He definitely caught some people's attentions already.
Idris sighed. He didn't want to risk it all, not yet. His curiosity had peaked, and he wanted to survive....whatever this was.
Who to vote....who to vote...
He couldn't vote himself anymore.
His panic increased as the thought of departing this land so quickly entered his mind.
He glared at the strangers.
Idris...
Idris Kallikrates...
They were voting him for sure.
Damn it. He wanted to act as casual as possible.
Stupid rats.
He'd crush them under his foot.
Ugh.
Paiyoon.
One rat should die.
"Social currency is worthless here. You need to decide whether or not you trust me for yourself, and based upon your vote, it seems there is a part of you that does trust me. I cannot confirm it is Idris; I can only continue to explain my logic. Yet he has voted me without even confronting me. Honestly, it's a cowardly move on his part... if had come over here and talked to me civily, then we could have reached an alternate agreement. Since I know that I am a civilian, it makes him even more suspicious."
Artemis was clear, of that Paiyoon was fairly sure. The other person she would tentatively fully clear was Athena. Just a hunch, but Paiyoon felt a strange certainty. She, Artemis, and Athena were citizens. Idris seemed evil, perhaps Kishin? Of Lucian, Setsuna, and Elehah, one was most likely the Jorōgumo, one was the Oracle, and one was a Civilian.

Setsuna Jun
The hell was happening? It felt like the whole world was spinning out of control. Was he supposed to vote? Talk to people? Demand a better roleplayer?
"Um... hey." Setsuna poked Paiyoon. "You seem to know what's going on. So can we uh, chat?" He attempted a smile.
Logic was important. But trust was even more so. Athena trusted everyone. That was her one fatal weakness. Despite what she said, she didn't want anyone to die, Yokai or not. Yes, it was foolish, it was silly, it was illogical, and all the innocents were going to die anyways if they didn't find the Yokai. But emotions aren't logical.
Did she trust Paiyoon? Yes. More so than everyone else? Maybe. But she really didn't have any evidence for that. It was plain gut feeling. But Paiyoon was their best bet. And if Idris turned out to be innocent, they could always vote Paiyoon out. Right?
Right?

Lucian Arbred's POV
Lucian inhaled sharply. Part of him felt... Slightly disturbed at Paiyoon. What was she laughing at?
But he headed off to vote regardless.
Well... It was a shot in the dark, but... It was an option, wasn't it?
They just had to take their chances with this, really.
"I hope I'm making the right decision..."
He wrote down Idris Kallikrates.
