"You're wrong," she told Kendo quietly. "Science was made to have the natural world succumb to our whims- have what we could not understand destroyed."
We are all selfish sinners. And Legion understands that. He plans to wipe us out entirely. Until there is no good, no evil- nothing but blank existence, entirely controlled, entirely done up in neutral colours.

He glared st Legion.
"You are a disgusting being. You do not have the right to decide who lives and who dies. Only nature has that right."
wickedness?
Or is it
weakness?
You decide.

"What do you see in your new order?" Isla knew she should stop talking, but the horror was setting in- and the words just poured from her mouth. "Where will the people be? Who will live? How many will die? Where do we-"
She gestured frantically around the room.
"Where do we sit on your table? At the head, or at your feet?"
Isla Greer
Do you see what kind of man you oppose? she thought furiously at Kendo. Your eyes are dead- you have nothing left to lose, while we have to barter for our family's lives.
"A reign built on blood is sustainable," she said quietly. "But a reign without subjects is hardly a reign at all. Surely you know that, Legion?"

Nausea swirled in her gut. There was so much wrong with that, she couldn't even begin to address it. Some little girl in the depths of her mind was screaming. The world was breaking down- history was being written, and the woman refused to listen to her, because she would never forsake herself for a thousand lives.
They are not my own, the woman told the little girl. Someday you will understand- you cannot protect everyone.
Isn't that why you became a soldier? To protect people like mom? And now you're abandoning them to save yourself?
If saving my own hide means victory, then I will do it. I am not the girl who dreamed of being a solfier anymore- I have become a leader, and a leader always makes the right choice for her people.
She nodded quietly. "I understand. Continue."

"I'm glad you're so enthusiastic." He smiled at Kendo and entered the lab, where Selene was quietly working. "Just sit in that chair, yes?" Aret knew what was going on, but she was forbidden to speak, and so couldn't warn him.

You know the first rule in combat? Shoot them before they shoot you.

Kendo took a step back from the broad-shouldered man in front of him. His allies behind him tensed. There were only four who followed him. A pink-haired girl named Emma Brown, whom most called [The Bloodred Rose], her Ego Dagger, taking the form of a human, [Carnwennan], though he insisted on being called Artemis, The man they called the [Saint of the Sword], Kristoff Dahl, and his sister, Kyouko. Or rather, she insisted on being called Lydia.
The man in front of him had long, golden hair tied up into a ponytail, and a blade in the jagged shape of a lightning bolt hanging at his side.
Jupiter.
"You got a little cocky because you're the strongest human. Face it, Breaker of Twilight. You'll never stand amongst us."
Beside him, a gray-haired old man, with a long beard, tied into braids, upon an eight-legged horse, with an eyepatch over his left eye.
Odin.
"I admit, you were a worthy ally, but you do not possess the right to stand amongst us gods."
A falcon-headed god, with a white and red crown upon his head, holding a spear nearly twice the size of him.
Horus.
The three gods whom he had previously fought with, against the Outer Gods.
The three gods who teamed up with a cocky king named Arthur to erase him from the Tower's history.
"Bah, enough talking. Let's exterminate this pest."
"Indeed. It's time this mortal met his end."
"The Twilight Breaker, this is a declaration of war. Take pride in knowing that you were a respectable warrior."
"Goodb-"
...
Carnage.
Pure Carnage.
That was the only way to describe the battlefield.
The universe was on the verge of collapse.
Kendo stood at the middle of the battlefield, throwing the severed head of Ares, the god of war, away.
nearly forty gods had been slain.
Odin, the cowardly elder, had fled the moment the tide had shifted in his favor.
Horus had given his life up, after being backed into a corner and died an honorable death.
Zeus fled at the last moment, tarnishing his name.
It was over.
But it came at a cost.
She was gone.
They were all gone.
...
The sound of a shovel hitting dirt.
Four holes had been dug into the earth.
Graves.
Four bodies, their faces covered with cloth.
He didn't cry.
What was the point?
He carefully laid their bodies into the ground.
...
"God."
The blonde-haired man lounged upon the golden throne, lazily looking up from the game console in his hands. A golden crown rested on his messy golden hair.
"Oh. It's you. Did you have fun on your journey, Kend-"
God took a punch to the jaw.
Kendo stood in front of him, knocking the crown off his head.
"Ouch! What was that f-"
Another punch to the jaw.
God massaged his jaw.
"Now, now. Calm down, Kendo. We can talk this ou-"
Kendo punched him in the gut.
"Stop! Why're you doi-"
A punch to the face broke God's puny nose.
He jumped off the throne.
"Stop! Tiem out!"
Kendo's blank expressions shifted. A thin smile came over his face.
"...stop? hah. God is asking me to stop? It's as I thought. The moment I escaped the laws of Casualty, you can't do anything to me. Is it because I'm no longer classified as something YOU created?"
The look on God's face told him everything he needed to know.
He unsheathed his sword.
"Wait!"
And then, the sword pierced through God.
And that's how God died. Quite anticlimactic.
Kendo looked down at his hands.
He was vaguely awareethat this was just an illusion.
He sheathed his sw-
"Stop iT! STop narrating my thoughts! Get out of my head! I f*cking hate you. You damned writer. Get. Out. Of. My. HEA-"
wickedness?
Or is it
weakness?
You decide.
