The afterimage went away right after but... as if taunting Isla, which should not even be possible because it was just replicating Iteral's movements, it just cackled a bit when checking her clock. Then, it went it's original way: Through the hallways, past the Saint's room onto the balcony. Thank god poisons don't affect apparitions.

You know the first rule in combat? Shoot them before they shoot you.

The man gulped. She was gone, and in her wake she'd completely ruined his life. Why oh why couldn't he have been an ordinary kid who wanted to be a terrorist instead of an expendable background character?

But alas, thoughts were not permitted for NPCs, so he just internally grumbled and headed down the hall, potentially in the direction of the apparition.

He reached a balcony before long. Like the foolish unimportant person he was, he leaned over the edge. For no plot reason in particular, no, he was just here to fail Isla.

The afterimage, at first, simply went to Iteral and was about to sit down and fix the clock along. But it was then when Iteral attempted to clock out of the castle, pressing the clock top. The clock simply... charged a little and had a different effect. Two, even, the first that Iteral was dialed back somewhere else... all she saw is darkness right now, trapped somewhere.

The second is that the afterimage changed scenes, as if it closed in on a more dramatic fashion. So instead, the afterimage reenacted Legion's attempt at throwing Iteral off the balcony, which it did to a t.

You know the first rule in combat? Shoot them before they shoot you.

Third Person POV




In a shocking and completely unpredictable turn of events, the much beloved NPC.2 has been yeeted off of a balcony.

A true tragedy for all involved. The world has lost a great soul with NPC.2. May his legacy live on with his non-existent and completely unimportant family. He will be dearly missed and definitely not forgotten within 7 and a half minutes.

Adrik slipped through the various crevices and alleyways of Snavia, making his way towards the Legion guard. Hidden in the dirty folds of his pants pocket was a precious coin-

His first connection to the Legion military.

The thing, so precious, yet so meaningless.

His opportunity to get back in with Isla. His opportunity to help those he held dear.

He gave it another squeeze, and took a left.

"Welcome, newcomer." Willow greeted Isla with a smile, though Selene was the opposite, scowling.

"Sit. He'll be here any second now." Just as she said that, the doors opened. Legion walked in with his signature amused smirk, sitting at the end of the meeting table. Next to him, connected to what looked to be a leash he held in his hand, was the Saint Deity, using the light of her halo to cover her face- as was customary of her to do.

"Welcome, all. I'm pleased to know that the lot of you could make it." He glanced to the empty seats. "And I'll assume the ones who couldn't be here are no longer extant on this plane of reality. Any questions before we begin?"

She didn't grace the snivelling girl with a response. This was a war meeting- politeness would come with the peace talks, when you wanted to pretend everyone in the world was civilized and had no reason to murder each other. Right now, all that mattered were who had the weapons and the most dehumanized soldiers.

Inside her mind, she counted to ten. When the room remained empty and silent, she counted to ten again.

At five, the door opened.

Isla sat rigidly up in her seat, keeping a soldier's posture and her eyes on Legion. For now, she thought. He is your superior officer. You are loyal to him.

Her anger bled out of her, replaced with a dull apathy. Her heart was well trained.

She tracked him as he made his way across the room, barely looking at the girl at his side. There was a faint ache in her heart every time she spotted the crest of her hair, a flash of skin- something in her wildly protesting this treatment of a deity- she was supposed to worship her, protect her- not see her coveted in an enemy's chains.

You are a soldier, Greer.

He stopped. A vague threat towards them and those absent. Greer allowed herself a grim smile.

he raised his hand like a child sitting on a chair, leaning it backward, crossing his legs. he did not look like a prisoner. Kendo was out here asking the truly important questions. He'd followed them, whistling cheerfully.

"Because, you know, they have like a couple dozen pairs of legs, so would they like only wear trousers on the first two legs, the last two legs, on all of them or just stretch out the trousers? Assuming we either have a human-sized centipede or a centipede-sized pair of triusers, of course."

Mhm, maybe that was rude. Well, anyways, back on the topic: Deus-Eiwos was a kingdom that resided on a big cliff and it had wyverns and serpents and stuff. But a while back, there was some kind of cosmic entity that mass genocide-d everyone there. Well, almost everyone."

Angel shrugged loosely. "I don't know, probably? It's a good thing we're not encountering them, they not only massacared the whole kingdom, but also the creatures in the valley." He stood up, dusting his hands. "Mhm, maybe we should go. Those Legion people in Wildana are probably going to be scouting out the area soon."

"We could go to..." Angel put a finger to his lips. "Okay, one second." He whipped out a very tattered and singed map from seemingly nowhere and winked cheekily. "I stole this from a Legion Camp back a while. Almost died then too! Eh-hum." He delicately rolled the poor paper out, because if he'd done it in any other way, it'd probably just disintegrate given its current state. "They're many kingdoms we could go to, which one would you like to go to?"

"Hmmmmm, why don't we go somewhere Legion can't touch! Currently, that is." He pointed at an ink splotch that seemed to be moving, albeit very, very slowly. "Teasho! The Wandering isles! It's always moving and I've heard," he lowered his voice to a whisper, "everyone there are criminals! Mobsters and stuff! No way would Legion go there!"

"Aw Booooooo. You're no fun." Angel poked Rei's shoulder and blew a raspberry. "Do you think Mobsters would just start shooting random civilians out of nowhere? That's surely going to get them captured by the government, duh! Plus, plus! Think! Teasho is always moving! And, without the help of special magicky maps, Legion won't even know its location! Pretty great security, huh? And we could always fly outta here, assuming our wings don't get shot off or something." He pouted. "Aughhh, fineee. We can go to somewhere elseee. Oh oh! How about Yiphati? It's like a forest kingdom filled with flower cities!"
