Atticus read the note and glanced outside at the group. He felt slightly bad for being misguided about it, so he picked up his rapier, along with a bag of crystals and walked outside with food. He set it down by the fire and gave a weak, half-hearted smile. "I got your note. Umm, I do have a question. What is your purpose for this? Why, in the first place are you doing this? I still haven't been told that."

"Why are we doing what, Mr. Redding?" She nodded in his direction, and then looked away, hiding the relief she felt. Emotions had no place in battle, and more and more possessed zombies seemed to be lurking on the edge of the clearing by the minute. They were arriving in droves, and it worried her more than she was letting on.

"Minus points for inarticulate questions," she said, returning to her standard position of sparring with words. It cleared her mind. "Did you mean why are we here? Why did we follow you? Why are we defending you home? Why do we care what you think? Why do we seem to flirt with danger and destruction every waking minutes of our lives?" A pause. "We- no I, am only human. Rin is... Rin. And I can only speak for myself. But I will answer a more... eloquently worded inquiry."

A brief sarcastic smile played at the corners of her mouth. The blood moon glinted within her eyes making them flash red. Predatory. Cath could not get over the strength she felt pouring into her. Channelled by the blood moon. Channelled through darkness. She could not forget where this power came from. Cath was tempting fate.

Unbidden once more, her mother's rhyme came back to her.

On the night that the blood moon rises,
The demons come out in all their disguises...
The monster now sealed by the princess's soul,
Reaches out to the world that he ruled long ago...
Bad luck comes to those who walk in its light,
A cruelty that not even magic can fight...
So masters of darkness, avoid the moon's gaze,
Lest you'll forever be trapped in its haze...

Scarlett skidded to a halt in front of the tentacle beast and howled, eyes glowing red. She jumped into the center of the mass.

It instantly transported Scarlett into the same realm Rin broke free of. It was completely black, except for the image; projecting Rin's past. Scarlett would be stuck there until the dawn broke or untill light magic freed her.

Scarlett sat down, content. She couldn't hurt anyone in here. And if the being decided to hurt anyone on the outside, she could jab it with small bouts of light magic to discourage it. Already, she was beginning to feel calmer.

Ayran was right behind of Scarlett, before he came to a stop in front of the monster. He gripped his scimitar that he summoned awhile ago.

What should he do? What happened? Who was behind all this, he has many more questions that were left unanswered.

Sobble gets startled by a noise and investigates. "What was that?" Sobble goes outside with his sword and walks to the halls. "Hello?" Sobble also holds a flashlight in another hand.

Shadow rubs his hair with a towel. He knew people were still fighting but he was still too tired. Transforming and fighting took a big toll on him and he collapsed on the bed. He stared at the roof for a while, letting his eyes slowly close. He drifted into sleep and waited for morning.

The Octopod Spirit saw Calico, Sobble, and Kai. It was unamused. It was a manifestation of Rin's rage, so it only cared about hurting the people Rin cared about.

The only person it didn't hurt was Rin or Carlise. Carlise had somehow tamed it. But it only answered to her. Not even Rin controlled it fully. However, on non blood moon nights, it was tiny and quite tame. Rin even liked it. But she had lost it, running away from Magma's possesed form. Now it was back, but in full form this time.

Scarlett had started to close her eyes when she felt Sobble swing at the Spirit. Enraged, she stood up quickly, growling and looking for a way out.

She didn't know why, but she had to protect the spirit. Perhaps it was the blood moon affecting her.

The Octopod spirit started walking towards Rin, bent on killing Cath. But the blood moon was fadin, and it with it, the Octopod's power.

Rin walked over to see Atticus talking with Cath. "Oh good, you're back." She said, completely unaware that the literal manifestation of her rage was destroying trees as it walked towards her.

The Octopod shook Sobble off its leg. It felt scarlett moving around inside it's realm. It made black goo ooze around Scarlet's legs to keep her in place.

Scarlett snarled and surrounded her feet with light magic. Either it would let her out to fight with it, or she would fight against it. She didn't care either way - she just wanted a fight.
