So. This was it. When everyone would know what Kendo really was like, and how she had failed to stop him. But what would their reactions be? Athena tried taking a deep breath, but ended up coughing and wheezing instead. "Kendo- He- He went crazy- Destroyed- Innocent soldiers-" Another rattily breath. "I- Was too weak- Too- Useless- To stop him-" Breath. "Got- Shot- By aerial fleet-"

Maniacal laughter echoed throughout the city. Kendo stood in the middle of the city, or at least, what USED to be the middle of the city. The city had been ravaged by his dark flames, cutting a cross-shaped swathe through the buildings. He stood at the center, laughing like a madman. He had gone insane a long while ago, after all. All that was left of his original outfit were his black jeans. His white shirt had been burnt away after he used his flames. he stood there, laughing, watching, listening.

"I... I knew too..." Luce whispered. "He's going a too far this time. We need violence to change, to shatter the ridiculous peace that the government claims we're in... But killing civilians..."

"Maybe I should talk to him..." But Luce wasn't sure he would listen to her. She could hold her own against her friend, but she would never be able to take him down.

Kendo's laughter turned to coughing. He knew it. He knew he was breaking down. His body was being destroyed inside out. He had made too many bad decisions in his life. He was badly burnt on multiple spots on his body. He hadn't slept in weeks. His lungs were giving out. So, since he was dying, he had decided to go out with a bang. That was why he chose specifically today to start the revolution.

"Today... the world has been turned on its head. I shall not live to see the glory of the new world, but I will gladly join the fight."

He pulled a red hoodie out of the shadows, pulling it on.

"I will destroy all those who stand in opposition to the new world. Even people I know. The advent of a new era is upon us. and I, Abyss, shall be it's herald."

“Yes, I’ve only seen it once and it isn’t pretty.” She said with a frustrated look. Violet rubbed her forehead, “That’s not the Kendo you know, Athena” she said softly. Violet knew this wasn’t gonna be good, and was trying to figure out what to do. He’d probably try to kill them without hesitation now.


Drake stood still, covering his face with his arm trying not to inhale. He raised his other arm and magma spewed out, absorbing the knives and melting them. “You’re quick” he quietly said while trying to track Foxglove.

Gas started closing in on Drake, as the knives kept zooming at him. Foxglove kept dead silent, expect for the occasional patter of his footsteps as he ran around.

In the corner of their vision, a hand white gloved reached out of their shadows. The smell of smoke and fire filled the air, as the hand pulled itself out of the shadows.

"I don't take too kindly about being talked behind my back, I'll have you know. I thought you knew better, Vi."

Kendo put a hand on the girl's shoulder, a wide, psychotic smile on his face.

"How is it? How do you like the dawn of a new age, my dear friends?'

Violet reached up to the hand on her shoulder and grabbed it firmly. “Leave us alone, we’ll come for you when it’s time. Your new age is nothing but a fantasy” she said while crushing his hand. Audible cracks could be heard, her strength was remarkable. She knew it wouldn’t hurt him, but she did so anyways.

Drake slammed the ground with his foot, the rocks and rubble started to melt and turn to lava. He figured he couldn’t take him on in his gas cloud, so he was going to even the playing field. The pool of lava started to expand, and with it the heat strategy to push the gas higher into the air.

As the fog lifted, it turned out that the 15 year old villain was no longer fighting against Drake. He was actually scrambling across rooftops, leaving corpses of the minor heroes that dared to fight him.

Kendo's grin did not falter as he lifted his crushed hand. A green glow surrouned it, as a faint cracking sounded out, snapping his bones into place. He nodded.

He turned on his heel, waving. He stepped into the shadows, melting into the abyss. He walked out of the shadows, in the strip of ruined buildings. The screens on the ground were cracked, with a looping clip, glitched and low quality, of the governor playing on them. A ball of fire appeared in his hands, as he burnt all of them to ash. He sat down on a nearby rock. Out of the shadows, he pulled a glass and a bottle. He poured himself some liquor. He downed the glass in a shingle shot.

"It- Isn't-" Suddenly, Kendo appeared. But just for a brief moment. And she was too stunned to do anything. Now she'd just lost her chance two times in a row. What kind of hero or villains was she!? He was probably off to destroy more of the world. More innocent people.
