I didn't know this complaint thread doesn't exist yet, seeing how many people have complained being about being unable to log out, when clicking on the >

< button. many times it just refreshes the site without logging me out.
Why does it do it? Is it fixable?

I can log out without any issues, so I don't think it's a PH-issue. Which browser are you using? Do you get the "Do you want to log out?" prompt?

What she said. I don't have any problems either. It prob depends on the type of browser. Sometimes when I was on a different browser, some pop ups would not show at all. So right now, I use Google and always use it

@CatLady, I'm using chrome. Sometimes other browsers like mozlla. I always get the "Do you want to log out?" prompt, but it just reloads the site from time to time instead. :-(

I've read on the notification wall, that other users get it too and not me alone. Tho I forgot who else has the problem.

I've tried it on all my browsers and the page was never refreshed.
Maybe somewhere in your cache it's forgetting to delete the login-data?
I'll try and see if I can find different reasons, but like I said, I'm not entirely sure it's a PH-issue ^^'

What does "delete the login-data" mean? Does it mean I'm not allowed to use the auto password sync, since it wouldn't work otherwise?

I simply meant that it might forget to forget your log-in information in the cache memory, hence why you don't log out [and my question to try clearing your cache]

@Absbor: What PH basically does is that it stores info that you are logged in in your browser cookies, so that you don't have to re-login everytime you open the site. So when you log out, it deletes that particular info from the cookies, meaning you have successfully logged out, and next time you try open PH, it asks you to log in.

You can try clearing browser cookies. (On the URL, click the padlock icon on the left side of the URL, click on Cookies, and remove all of them, then refresh the site. You will be logged out. Also, none of the auto-login info/auto password fill will be deleted, so rest assured.)

If this is a browser issue (which it probably is, as I too am able to log out without any issues), this might help.

I experience the same 'issue'. I am also a chrome user.

This has been a persistent thing on both of my devices, even after cache clears.

@Lucki, I generally clean my caches, even the sites I'm on. Basically my history since my internet is kinda bad, but I know it's not my routers fault that I can't log out. But it still happens. :-(

I've been able to log out on Chrome without any issues.
Do you have the latest version?

@Reshiram, like I said, it's not a problem of the internet. It doesn't happen all the time. It's like a random glitch that happens time from time. :-(

Internet can glitch out from time to time too. I have an ethernet cable for emergencies, because sometimes my "very good" [all bars] internet decides to just. . . pretend it doesn't have all bars and throw out "Your internet is slow" warnings (on the sites that require a certain speed/consistency).

The dificulty in identifying the problem is the fact that
1. It's inconsistent
2. It's not happing for all users

If it happened to everyone, we could be fairly certain it was the site causing it. However, it's not happening to everyone, so it really might be a setting issue or an internet issue that causes a glitch from time to time.
