Breaths were held-
"Well, that happened!" Suko said cheerfully, sporting a now blackening eye.
Suko stood up, clapping their hands together. "Well! Now that we're all awake, who's ready for some exploring?"
Niwa Atsushi
Niwa jumped, squeaking in a very undignified way. Someone save me ! But Suko was smirking at him and Hisoka looked like a Hisoka and thus, Niwa was on his own...
Except...
"Keiki!" He burst out. "I need to talk to Keiki!"
Hisoka and Suko snorted as one. Hisoka headed for the door, and Suko followed him.
Hisoka Yamanaku
Hisoka tried the door. It remained solid. His brow furrowed. He tugged harder. Nothing gave.
"Suko!" he called sharply. "Help me with this."
"I'd rather not." Suko propped themself up on the doorframe, watched him through hooded blue eyes. They smiled at his disgruntled expression. "Come on, you don't expect me to do manual labour, do you?"
"As if I care at this point." Hisoka slipped from the smooth wood and stumbled backwards, cursing loudly. "Come on- stupid thing, won't relent in the slightest. Can't somebody help me with this?" Please? "I was unconscious five minutes ago. Suko, if you won't explain, then you can at least-"
"No." Suko stuck out their tongue.
"Somehow, I knew you'd say that." Hisoka sighed deeply. A headache pounded in his skull. Whatever. He bashed his head into the door. Pain bounced back. He slipped down, down onto his calves, and kneeled before it, clutching the door handle as the pain in his head seared worse and worse.
"I can't watch this," Niwa sighed. Hisoka heard a clatter, followed by footsteps. Niwa crouched down next to him. "Let's do this together, okay? You too, Koda."
Narrator
Niwa and Koda worked together, tugging on the doorknob. Their hands briefly touched, but Niwa's brow nearly furrowed and he dug his palms in, trying to pull harder. Hisoka pulled back as the door creaked. Then, he was on his feet.
With the three together, they managed to achieve the strength they needed. The door burst open and Niwa was sent flying into Hisoka. The two pulled apart, sputtering, and then-
The door was open.
The students gaped at the paradise sitting before them.
"Congratulations~ Your ultra-despairful vacation has begun!"
Narrator
With the doors open, the Ultimates were witness to a beautiful scenery. An enormous beach was split by lapping waves. Sun pounded overhead, sky glowing with life. Up ahead, birds soared- seagulls, hawks, pelicans-
It was the Ultimate Beach Scene.
Perched atop a lawn chair, Monokuma lay, his back to them. Wait, his shoulders had-
"Is he wearing a bra?" Niwa blurted out. Then his cheeks went bright red and he collapsed to the ground, clutching the sides of his skull. Hisoka stood above him, looking equally queasy, but managing to keep his balance.
"What is the meaning of this?" Hisoka demanded.
"The Ultimate Vacation? Puhuhuhuh~ I figured you adorable brats needed a break! The roleplayers were tormenting you too much, so I decided to find a setting which would make that impossible, and I could torment you instead!"
Niwa's brain appeared to be rebooting itself. "Roleplayers...?"
"Puhuhhu~ They're the ones reading this and threatening to set my cubs on fire. Unfortunately for them, you're my only cubs, and they don't have a giant magnifying glass to manipulate this sun with and set my adorable ant-cubs on fire."
"Are we ants or bears?" Hisoka asked. His whole frame twitched with agitation. "Why are we here? Why have you brought us outside?"
"Plot convenience!"
Hisoka's eyes glowed. "Does this mean that we can contact the outside world?"
Monokuma's grin grew menacing.
"My dear, you are the outside world."
Even Niwa looked up at that.
"Well, puhuhhu~ Call me if you need me~! The beach house is open all hours of the day. You can find your dorms on the other side of the island!" He saluted. "See you around! Bear well!" and then popped out of sight.
"I suppose we're not getting an explanation to that, either," Hisoka sighed. "Oh well. Is anyone ready to explore the island?"
Niwa Atsushi
Keiki looked so happy... Niwa felt a twisting of sadness in his heart. "Hey," he said softly. He lightly touched their shoulder. "You feeling alright?"
Waves crashed and fell. Finally, Hisoka seemed to stir.
"I'll head out first," he said decisively. His eyes darted to the others, waiting. When no protest came, he started out. Niwa watched him go.
Niwa Atsushi
"You're right," Niwa agreed reluctantly. Deep inside, he wanted to just take Keiki away from here... Far, far away from these horrid schemes. Somewhere where they'd be safe, forever and ever, and never have to worry about the hell that was this present.
Movement pulled them out of their thoughts. Suko followed after Hisoka. Niwa glanced at Keiki. Was it just him, or was there something going on between the two...?
"Alright. Let's go."
"Alrighty!"
Keiki frowned as Niwa glanced forward, then back at themselves.
An eyebrow lifted, but they didn't question anything.
After a short pause- "Niwato- what was life like for you before this?" They asked suddenly. It was a question that had been playing on Keiki's mind for a while. "I'm curious to know-" They added.
"Random- I know- I just, want to make polite conversation-" Keiki grinned.
