Hisoka released a deep, shuddering breath. "Yes. Redmonda is the culprit." We're right. I wish we weren't now... but we're right. And this vote will drive us together.
"Puhuhuhu~ It appears the Ultimates are ready to vote... very well! Let the vote... BEGIN!"
The screen lit up, having shut off a while ago. Hisoka scrolled through the icons, then tapped the picture of Redmonda. He seized the lever and yanked it down.
Beside him, he saw Niwa pull down his lever.
Amano was right after him, probably with more force than necessary.
Suko did it with a smile on their face.
Niwa Atsushi
No. This is wrong.
Looking around at all those faces- some were smiling- he realized he was alone in that realization. They all cared about themselves.
No one else.
Why did he even feel bad in the first place?
Instead, rage was boiling within him. How dare they? How could they just vote so coldly? Put their lives above Redmonda's with a smug click?
And it left him.
The answer took its place.
He reached out and tapped on Hisoka's icon.
You.
"..."
Keiki sighed, and voted for Redmonda, tapping the carrot icon. Condemning her to death...if they were right, of course.
Keiki sat cross-legged on the ground, fingers tapping their knees, humming, The Final Countdown underneath their breath.
They were trying so hard not to panic about what would happen next.

"The votes are in! Who will be chosen as the Blackened? Have you made the right choice or the dreeeaddfully wrooong one?"
Hisoka shuddered a bit. "Dear god, that voice..."
The screen on the other side of the room lit up. 10 votes for Redmonda. One for Akihiro, one for Suko, and two for Hisoka. Then the game slot started rolling. It landed on three icons of Redmonda.
"CORRECT! THE BLACKENED HIDING AMONG YOU IS NONE OTHER THAN... THE ULTIMATE GARDENER, REDMONDA, A LITERAL CARROT! PUHUHU~! YOU MUST BE FEELING SO DESPAIRFUL!"
Silence fell over the Trial Room.
"Aww, is no one gonna say something? Are we going to have to go to the Despairful Execution now?" Monokuma pouted. "You're all so boring. Stupid stupid boring brats."
Hisoka nearly fell over his podium. "No. No, don't." He turned to the Ultimate Gardener, facing her shadowed expression."So we were right. It was you, Redmonda." Hisoka's voice had an odd, slightly high-pitched note to it. "You killed her. So she wouldn't kill you."
"..yay...we got it righ- oh g...awd..."
Keiki's vision went all funny, they started swaying, eyelids drooping, words slurring.
"The...fr-...ick?" They muttered, raising a hand to their forehead.
...
This was too much for the amazing fashionista.
Keiki's vision went black, and they slumped down, unconscious.
One hand gripped a satchel with all their might, one that wasn't present before. Another clutched the bruises on their stomach. Both of them were chalk-white.
Niwa Atsushi
A thud.
"Keiki...?" Niwa turned. Had something dropped? Was Kei-
Keiki lay motionless on the ground.
"Keiki!" he cried, lunging forward as if to catch them, but instead sprawling in front of them. He seized their face in his hands. "Come on! Wake up! Up, Keiki- up and at it, we need to-"
"I guess it's time for the execution!" Niwa took a long moment to realize that Suko meant Redmonda's. "Aww! It'll be so much fun to see what our Headmaster comes up with!"
"Puhuhuhuhu~" Monokuma's signature laugh took another moment to comprehend. "Ah, you're all so crazy, aren't you? Suko, Megami, Kowai... So nutty! It's absolutely delightful to watch you take such pathetic stabs at each other. Puhuhuhuu~"
Hisoka made a low noise in his throat, a groan full of agony.
Niwa fixed his eyes on Keiki and checked their pulse. Oh good, it was- it was still working. Breathing? His hand hovered over their nose. A woosh of air hit it. Yes. Yes, Keiki was breathing. "Oh gosh," he whispered. "What happened to you...?" The people in the background became meaningless noise, like the sound of an engine or even a lawnmower. A memory hit Niwa, but he shook it off, instead examining the satchel Keiki clutched.
Eh...? What was this?
He reached for it, but...
"Said your goodbyes? Everyone ready for the thrilling execution of our very own Ultimate Gardener?"
Everything was oh so strange. Muffled shouting. A strange, buzzing noise filled my ears.
My hair was stained red. My head has slammed on the edge of the podium, I think.
I can't remember anymore. I just feel the trickle of crimson drip down my shirt.
...
My knuckles screamed from clutching my satchel, yet I can't move them.
I want to scream so badly but I can't open my mouth.
...
....fr...ick...

"I hear no objections! Puhuhuhu~ Glad to assist!" Monokuma whipped out his mallet and slammed it down towards the execution button.
The screen lit up, Monokuma dragging Redmonda away by a rope around her throat. Redmonda herself was seized by the claw and yanked up into the ceiling where she then vanished.
Without a word, Niwa released Keiki and started for the door. Hisoka, Amano, and even Suko followed, oddly silent.
Suzume Fujimori’s POV
“So… that was why you did it, Redmonda?” she asked, adjusting her glasses for the umpteenth time. “...I see.” She wasn’t sure what to say, was there much to say, really?
“Well, goodbye, Redmonda. I didn’t get to know you. But… I hope your death won’t be painful, and you find peace with what you’ve done.” An edge of sadness had entered her voice as she spoke. She immediately wondered why…
Kowai Kurai’s POV
Kowai leaned her head back and wiped her forehead with a woeful expression. “Oh, please spare my life!! I didn’t mean to kill that person!” She started weeping dramatically. “B-But… really, Redmonda? That was all Akihiro died for?” she sniffled.
Who the duck even was Akihiro? I don’t even remember.
[Kowai voted Hisoka because she hates him with the burning passion of 6 human souls.]
Femi Davis’s POV
This was his fault… wasn’t it? WASN’T IT? Femi began to cry, but only slightly, his body could barely squeeze out the tears.
“...S-Someone… died… someone… is going to die?” he whispered, barely audible to most in the room.
[Femi did not vote.]

"Everything is going to be okay."
Execution Room
Warning, please do not continue reading if this content could potentially trigger you. Take care of yourself, okay? If you're comfortable watching the sentient carrot die the deaths we brainstormed, feel free to continue on ^^ (Why did we kill best girl???)
The screen lit up, broadcasting Redmonda to all of them. Dangling by a hook gripping by the fabric of her shoulder, she let out a last wail and locked eyes with the camera.
Hisoka gave a curse under his breath.
And then, she was dropped into a kitchen.
Clearly, she was confused. She turned around and around- and then spotted a Monokuma out of the corner of her eye. She blanched, stepping back, putting her arms in the air... but the Monokuma's knife was not for her. It was cutting up the vegetables on the counter.
Redmonda continued to back away, looking around herself. Tears were visible on her face, then her heel bumped into something.
An enormous pot.
As she gaped, the Monokuma threw the chopped vegetables in. Then, it slowly advanced on her.
Her eyes fixed on the knife, she backed up and fell-
Straight into the boiling water.
A piercing scream that cut into the hearts of all the Ultimates. Even Suko looked queasy. "I don't wanna die like that," they muttered quietly. "I don't wanna..." They gave a loud shudder. Hisoka wondered hysterically if that had some other meaning to Suko, but then-
Redmonda tried desperately to escape the pot, but the Monokuma was there at every edge. Suddenly, the flame beneath the enormous pot seared up. All the Monokuma's caught fire. But so did the rest of the kitchen, which exploded- sending shards of everything everywhere.
Everything in it burned, screaming.
Then, a Monokuma burst in, clutching a fire hose. The flames died down.
Slowly, painstakingly, he kneeled down. Remainders of carrot soup pooled on the floor. Monokuma swiped a paw through it and ate it.
The screen went black.
Warning over!
"Oh... no..." Niwa visibly swallowed. "Oh no, Redmonda..."
Hisoka looked at Kowai. "She was a killer..." Yet his voice wavered.
"I don't want to be here. I don't want to be here... I don't wanna be here-" Amano was rocking himself in the corner of the room. His eyes were glazed. "Where's Nagisa? Need Nagisa-" he choked out a sob. "Don't wanna be here..."
The screams. The loud, piercing screams, shattering their ears. The thumping of their heart filled their ears.
Then silence. Redmonda was dead, Keiki was sure of it. Died a gruesome and grisly death, no doubt about that.
It was still dark, Keiki couldn't move. They just lay there, like a fish out of water. A fish who didn't flop, because flopping crumpled their skirt.
..."...h-....mph..." They muttered drowsily.
"...to....t-...m...ato-..fff-ay...ce.."
???
Someone clutched at their shirt. "I'm here," they whispered. "I'm not going anywhere, k̶̤̼̤̝͍̥̹̻̯̙̘͎̩͓̊̑̓͌̉͌̿͜Ȇ̶̲̹͙̺̓̽̆͛̔̀̐͌͝į̸͇̤͉̼̯̭̰͎̞̆͜K̶̛͙̫̪̹̼͔̺̉̔̎̅̒͒̈́̈́͜i̷̢̡̱͖̱̙̫̘̣̹̩̪̿̒̿ͅ." An arm hoisted them up, fixing them atop something which dug into their shoulder. "Come on..." Slowly, ??? was dragged away.
"You're okay, you're okay, you're okay," the voice chanted in their ear.
Hisoka Yamanaku
I can't continue like this, Hisoka realized. None of us can.
That was both an exciting and terrifying revelation. So what? Do we form an alliance? Split up and allow more deaths to happen? Continue to play along with Monokuma's sick games that only cause more of us to die?
Amano made a slight choking sound. Hisoka realized he'd spoken some- if not most of it- aloud. He glanced at Kowai.
She knew what she was doing.
He sidled up to her. "Kowai," he murmured in her ear. "Can we talk afterwards?"
Suko Nobu
"Redmonda's dead," they spoke aloud. "Oh. Okay." They blinked a few times. "But Femi!" They quickly hurried to Femi's side and dropped next to him. "Femi-, you okay? You need like... CPR? Or should I just kiss you like-"
Sound like green eyes again.
They should really try someone else...
Hisoka-brat? Creepy girl? Sciencer? Or the girl who was constantly mumbling everything?
"Mmmmmm, we're all gonna dieeee," Suko whined aloud. "If Femiiiii doessn'tttt respondddddd-" A tickle started in their throat. They cleared it away with an unholy screeching noise, "CMOONNNNN FEMMMMM~"
Narrator
At last, a new chapter of the Ultimate's tale had arrived. Hisoka's face was rigid, set in stone as he gazed at Kowai. Niwa clutched Keiki like a final lifeline, red eyes full of contradictory hate, flicking between every person there. Suko, staring down at Femi, blue eyes dull with pain. Amano was practically catatonic on the floor.
Nagisa was not among them, comforting Amano or assuring them they'd all make it out.
And neither was Chika, sneering at their weakness and urging them forth.
Akihiro's silver tongue which could convince someone that black was white.
And now, Redmonda was gone. Redmonda, the one who'd seemed to be the only sane one among them. The only one who wouldn't fall into Monokuma's ploys and ever hurt someone. The one most terrified of the killing game and determined to keep the rest alive.
They were all dead.
And that fact dwelled in the hearts of every ultimate there. Fermenting into a sickly sweet sap, urging Monokuma's twisted game forward in the cruellest way possible.
None of them could trust anyone.
Monokuma had done his job well.
Not even Nagisa or Chika, or Akihiro or Redmonda if they looked at this scene could believe that the lies- that they'd all stick together, that the murderers had vanished- could possibly be anything but Fool's Gold.
I didn't know what happened. I didn't look, all I heard was screams and shattering. I only looked up after the screen blacked out. My voice stopped quavering as some sort of adrenaline coursed through my veins. "This can't happen again." My tears dried up as I decided what I would do. I will get us out of here. I will. And if I don't, someone will.
Buraddo Jemu
Majikaruman Dōseiai-shadearimasu
Suzume Fujimori's POV
Her eyes erupted in explosions of tears. Normally, she would’ve wiped them away, surprised, curious as to how they’d gotten there. But the despair of the situation had overtaken her, and all rational thought had been swept away. There was somehow… something so horrible, about the way they were all but little experiments…
Stripped of their humanity… as people…
She heard it, a voice. A light in the darkness. A voice she recognized. "This can't happen again."
Suzume wanted to believe it. That this couldn't happen again. At this point... she couldn't even act rationally...

Title: Megami
Suko Nobu
Suko's eyes blew wide open.
"F-Femi! Hold still!" They tugged him closer to them, wrapping their arms tightly- but the thrashing was too much. They were thrown off, slamming into the wall. They choked-
Blood welled at the back of their throat-
And then they rolled back up, coughing and spitting onto the floor. "Femi- Femi-" They pressed their knuckles to their mouth and slowly craned their head up. Seeing Femi's body, blood already starting to pool again-
Their head dropped down and they continued coughing.
Hisoka Yamanaku
That look... Kowai was serious. For the very first time. Was it the atmosphere? Was it curling around her heart as well, strangling that jovial attitude from her?
He didn't know, and he found that for the first time, he didn't care.
He gave her the subtlest nod.
