"I did. It was a joke. Not a running one, but a- running one." Hisoka scowled at him. He supposed this was probably not the best time for the pun, but-
Suko snickered loudly. "Yep! Loud purple guy pushed the loud green cutie into the pool." Am I not a 'cutie'? He felt vaguely defensive. "'Twas funny! I saw!"
"I'm pretty sure we all did," Hisoka said politely. "But that does not establish an alibi. More so... a lack of opportunity." A faint smirk settled on Hisoka's face. I wonder if he's remembering something... But then, he turned to Suzume. "Although Suzume's quite right. And I haven't painted my nails very often enough to be clear-" Niwa tried to imagine Hisoka with Keiki's glorious nails and failed- "on how well one can cook with them. Is there nothing else-?"
"I was watching Keiki and Niwa," Amano piped up. He didn't look directly at them. "They only left the one time. I was careful to stay near them."
What the-? I don't remember that-
But when Amano met his eyes, he understood.
Amano believes we're innocent. And he's willing to lie to get that point across.
"Hmph." Hisoka narrowed his eyes. "Are you quite certain? They didn't slip out at any access points?"
Amano stared unblinking. Hisoka examined him, then gave a nod. "Very well. That narrows down the list of pool suspects." He drummed his knuckles down again. "Did anyone else leave?"
Redmonda did.
Niwa recalled her tear-stricken face with a sickening lurch.
Third Person POV
Niwa's face froze. No, he seemed to be telling Keiki. No, be quiet, you can't-
But Hisoka pounced.
"Red? Do you mean, by chance... Redmonda?"
Suzume Fujimori's POV
Was... she the killer?
Had she killed Akihiro?

"Everything is going to be okay."
Third Person POV
Niwa's eyes rounded with horror. "No!" He whipped to Keiki. "She didn't kill her- She couldn't- I- she didn't kill her, I swear!"
"Your distress seems genuine," Hisoka observed. "But I doubt that her disappearance was."
Suko yipped with excitement. "Oooo, debate! Debate! Debate!" Their podium wobbled as they leaned over it. "Everyone ARGUEEEEE!"
Redmonda:
Red looked around, she nervously breathed as the others stared at her.
What would they think of her? She thought.
But then she frowned, " Sentient Carrot?!? " she thought.
She didn't quiet like the name, but choose to try and remain positive and didn't want to stir up any more drama, in an already dangerous position...
She had to think of a way, to try and show the others she was innocent.
Third Person POV
"It's not Redmonda," Niwa said quietly. His eyes glistened with unshed tears. "Please, let's focus on somebody else."
"She is the only one of us who does not possess an alibi," Hisoka returned calmly. "Who else could have committed this murder?" His eyes narrowed. "Who else had the chance to put that deadly pastry in the oven and take it out to poison Akihiro later?"
Niwa opened his mouth.
Then shut it. He looked between Amano and Keiki helplessly.
"You can't lie without implicating them." Hisoka pounced on the point instantly. "You know it's her, Niwa. We all do. We just need a confession."
Niwa stood straight up.
"You shut up," he snarled.
"Woah. All of you, easy. Let's just stop arguing for one teeny moment, please. And let us just think."
Keiki took a deep breath.
"Let's just not jump to conclusions just yet...okay? Let us establish alibis, motives, and how or why Akihiro was killed. What was there to gain-? Eh? Let's think about that first, and then we can interrogate the sentient carrot."
Oi, tomato face, calm down. Keiki mouthed at Niwa.
Niwa Atsushi
Niwa tried to focus on the bubbling anger he felt. But it was impossible. The fear he felt underneath was too strong. He knew- he knew, just knew that this had to-
He met Keiki's eyes. Keiki looked worried. For him? He didn't know. The mouth moved, but he couldn't hear anything behind the roaring in his ears.
"Hisoka," he said softly. "Do you really think Redmonda is capable of killing someone?"
Hisoka's words cut straight through. "Yes. She is."
"You thought it was someone else last time. How do you know you aren't wrong this time?" His hands trembled by his sides. The rage was strong. Now he feared it more than he wanted it to stay... "Do you really think so highly of yourself? You'll just ignore your past mistakes, because surely you're better now?"
"Niwa, calm yourself-"
The rage boiled over.
Third Person POV
Niwa fell dead silent. Hisoka turned to Keiki. "I disagree. We should focus on the angle we already have- not cringe back out of fear of offending a potential suspect. You're humanizing your opponents too much- not understanding that one of us here, has, in fact, committed a heinous act. We must discover their identity, not fiddle and worry about the ethics of approaching them with their sins."
"Did she do it?" Amano spoke up, not looking at Redmonda. His eyes were focused on Hisoka, a light flooding them. "Did she do it, Hisoka?" Hope shone in his eyes.
"Defend yourself." Hisoka turned to Redmonda. "Defend yourself, or we will all vote you. You have heard the evidence. You are our only suspect. No student is missing their own alibi, or any evidence that hints to it being faux."
It wasn't my fault! She yelled.
You're all wrong! She said.
I didn't plant the poison...she did... Red fearfully spoke.
She..tried to kill me...I had no other choice... she continued.
I found out her plan and... she trailed off.
She was scared to hear how the other would respond.
Third Person POV
A crash. Niwa's bag had toppled to the floor, spilling out the contents. "Redmonda, no" he begged-
"Is that your way of confession?" Hisoka tilted his head, eyes fixed on Redmonda. "Are you admitting to the murder of the Ultimate Confectioner."
"Of course she is," Amano cut in. He glared at Redmonda. "She killed her." His fists clenched. "And she was going to kill the rest of us..."
Suko's eyes were wide. They just kept glancing back and forth. "Oh- wow-" they breathed.
"Shut up!" Niwa snapped at Hisoka. "You shut up, okay?"
"Why should I? We need a direct confession. This will save our lives."
"Don't- don't just treat her like that-"
Amano sneered derisively at Niwa. Niwa shot a glare back.
"My mind's made up." Hisoka shrugged. "I don't care what defense this murderer has. I'm voting for her."
"Puhuhuhu~ Are the Ultimates certain then, of the Blackened hiding among you?"
Suko Nobu
Self defense... eh? Suko didn't believe that. No, they didn't believe that at all.
Everything was intentional. Every action was thought out. Redmonda did not need to turn a murder around on Akihiro. She had no excuse. All she had done was try and save herself at the selfish expense of their lives.
Funny... just how obsessed people were with living.
Once you knew you were already dead, what did you have left?
Honour, perhaps, for Redmonda. She wanted to die with the rest of them believing in her. Desperately searching for the slightest happy ending- at least to be remembered positively in the minds of those she planned to kill.
Suko sneered.
Truly... pathetic.
Hisoka Yamanaku
Self defense, self defense, self defense- Megami's words haunted him. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't look away from that sad, defeated face. Self defense? Had Redmonda truly...
His fingers found the collar of his shirt and gripped the starched fabric. "No... That's not true, I-" Redmonda's face was so mournful. "Redmonda... I apologize. I am truly, deeply sorry..."
Amano Tetsuo
Self defense?
Amano didn't blink.
She left us to die. She wanted to kill us all. She poisoned Akihiro- I don't care why I don't care if Akihiro was bad, she murdered her, I refuse to- I will not drown, you will not kill me you murderous-
"I'm voting Redmonda," he said quietly.
Niwa Atsushi
Huh...
Everyone's faces... Niwa couldn't see anything at all. His heart thudded in his chest. That was terrifying, but also...
"Puhuhuhuhu~ Is everyone ready to vote?"
Niwa snapped to attention. "A-Ah! Yes... we should vote... should vote, right now..." His heart gave a pained twist. "For... Redmonda, right?"
"Yes," Hisoka spoke softly. "We must vote for her. If we are to live ourselves."
Self defense, self defense... "I..." It should have been guilty... "I choose..." You can't just defend a...! "I vote Redmonda."
Buraddo Jemu
I saw the panic written on Megami's face. She was open like a book, as she always is in these situations. "I vote Redmonda as well."
Majikaruman Dōseiai-shadearimasu
I looked around. 'That quick? Man, what a short trial.' "Well that was boring. I vote carrot lady."
The world seemed to slow down, right before my very eyes. Again, I knew another death...no, murder was about to happen, one so gruesome and disturbing that it shattered my already poor mental state. Recalling the previous death made me feel sick, I felt my throat burn and stomach contract. My eyes stinging, burning, filling with salty tears that stained my cheeks.
It felt oh so hazy now. My vision, my memory. I couldn't think, speak, talk, move. I just- frick. Couldn't bear to witness another fresh corpse being slain. Not anymore. I had seen more than enough, and enough being none. I hate this.
What does it look like to you, you actual idi- I took a deep breath.
...
be nice. be calm...
"...does it look like I'm okay to you?" I snapped accidentally.
what...did i just say? well...think-
"Holy...tomato-" I quickly glanced in the direction of tomato himself, Niwa, and looked back.
"I'm sorry. That was rude- I didn't mean to be rude. I'm sorry, Buraddo, I really am."
I clenched my fists shakily. "I'm not okay."
