"I-" Miyako bit her lip and glanced back at Sawyer in her room. With a sigh, she finally closed the door behind her. "Alright Shi," she concluded. "I'm mad at you, you know that?"
Miyako Hiroto
Miyako shook her head, "No it's just- I-" She dropped her gaze and began to toy with her own fingers, avoiding eye contact. "Shi...Sometimes I just get the sense..."
A face flashed in her mind.
"Would you cry?" she blurted out. "When I die?" She slammed her mouth shut.
Lucian Arbred's POV
He was looking at Kubo with a million stars in his eyes, and smiling his fool head off. It was a bittersweet smile.
"...hey... It's okay. I hate to see you cry, but... it's... It's okay. We'll figure everything out, somehow."
"Thank you. Welcome... to dorm."
Warmth spread across Lucian's face.
"You're always welcome, Kubo... Always."
His eyes widened. Oh god!! KUBO PASSED OUT! Nonono, it was alright. He was in bed anyways.
He tucked Kubo in. He couldn't stop smiling at him.
Oh, god, this is weird, isn't it?
They weren't even dating!! And he shared a bed with him for the night, kissed him, hugged him, squeezed his hand, cuddled with him...
Lucian clapped his hands to his reddening face. No. It wasn't like that. Kubo had just needed someone to share a dorm with, the... Kissing only happened because of Kubo's concussion, and... Stupid impulses on Lucian's part. And... Hugging was a platonic thing. He'd been trying to reassure him by squeezing his hand. And he'd accidentally rolled over in his sleep to cuddle with him!
All of it was silly. Subconsious things. Impulses. None of it... Meant anything. Right?...
"..."
Okay, okay. No. What he was about to do wasn't weird either.
Kubo had passed out, but... Surely he should try to make sleeping more comfortable for him. Right?
Oh, god. No. That was too weird!! No, he was not taking any of Kubo's clothes off! Not even for good reason! ESPECIALLY NOT WHEN HE WAS ASLEEP! But... His pigtails might be uncomfortable to sleep in, right?
Carefully, gently, he removed the hair ties.
"...!!!"
Oh, so- that's- that was what his hair looked like when it was down. He looked... So pretty...
Lucian marveled at it for a moment before shaking his head and forcing himself to look away. He couldn't have thoughts like this...
Every so often he'd glance back at Kubo, but he kept trying to write on his notepad to pass the time, so he wouldn't be awkwardly staring at his unconscious friend the entire time.
You're just making sure he's okay. That's all.
Sawyer Laurens's POV
...something about it felt off. Evil.
"Muuurrf?" Sawyer mumbled.

She is going insane, what the actual hell was going on.
Why was everyone suddenly obsessed with her.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Before he could say anything, or even do anything, Akari was cut off by Kubo and his mutterings, to which Lucian put all his focus into attending him. He didn't mind though, not like he wanted to say much anyways.
While they were conversing, even when it was pretty much one-sided, Akari moved further away silently and decided to "isolate" himself against the wall while he watched from afar. He felt bad about it, since it almost seemed like eavesdropping a bit, but there wasn't much else he could do anyways. Couldn't leave and be alone again, couldn't go back to his dorm, right? Even if Sutaraitsu was there, and Akari had a feeling he wouldn't be, he just didn't like the idea. He couldn't just roam around the school, even if he stayed awake and therefore wouldn't break a rule, that also seemed a little dangerous and... unpleasant to stay the least. As much as he wanted some peace and quiet for once, he knew he couldn't trust himself to be alone. Even if he managed to get a wink of sleep, he didn't know if he could handle another nightmare. Not after this, not after today.
All he did was look over in the two's general direction, trying to make himself as unnoticeable as possible. He didn't want to say anything, didn't want to interfere. Not like he knew what to do anyways, right? Wasn't any of his business, he didn't need to know. But...
The way Lucian was acting, it was pretty damn obvious. It was also obvious that the poor guy had doubts, conflicting thoughts about it all, uncertainty, and not to mention literally being told by the person in question that he should die. Akari felt a little bad, honestly, even when he despised the pig-tailed Sally Face looking bastard, mumbling and lying around like an absolute buffoon. Maybe his sympathy came from the fact that Lucian reminded Akari a lot like himself at one point, but... That was entirely different, right?
Oh, wow Akari, you can relate, so what? Your pathetic ass can't even hold its own in a normal conversation, what makes you think you can confront him about it? What do you think it's gonna do? Make Lucian feel better? Do anything good for him? Not a chance, not a chance.
Akari had the right to remain silent, anything he said can and will be used against him in a court of law, and so he respected those rights.
For once.
Now that she thought about it, where in Celestias name was Solaro?
Oh.
Yeah, she was gone. Oops.
"Hey! Come back!" Akora snapped, chasing after the red-head.
Lucian Arbred's POV
...
"...just... With the murders, and... Everything that happened in our lives. And everything that is still happening. It's... All so confusing, and difficult."
Akari probably wouldn't even say anything. He didn't seem like he wanted to open up. But... Lucian wanted Akari to at least feel welcome in here and less like he was--
No, he wasn't third-wheeling. That concept was ridiculous because there was nothing to third-wheel to! If it had been anyone else, he would have done the same for them as he'd done for Kubo. None of their time together had been romantic in the least!
"...do you... Want to talk?"
It would probably be less awkward than just trying not to stare at his friend the entire time.

"...Akari? Are you alright?"
"I'm sorry. For... Not paying attention to you right now. I just need to make sure Kubo gets better, but... I can't imagine you're doing well either. I don't think any of us here are, to be honest."
Oh. Lucian noticed him. Oh well, not like it was avoidable.
Akari was leaning against a wall at this point, keeping his head down, almost like he was trying to rest his eyes for a bit. I don't think trying to sleep while standing was a good idea, but Akari wasn't exactly known for having good ideas.
...Actually he was, that was kinda why he was here in the first place. But still, there wasn't much he could do otherwise anyways.
He shifted a bit, pulling his arms out of his pockets to cross them across his chest, still keeping his head down.
"Are you alright?"
...Why was everyone so insistent on asking him that? This was... What, the third time he'd been asked today? Honestly who knew, no one was counting and "today" took way too long for anyone to remember. But... Did he really look that miserable? Were his mannerisms just that unusual? Enough to warrant so much concern like this? Geez, it was honestly getting a little tiring.
"...Yeah, yeah I'm fine Lucian..." His voice was quieter than usual, which I didn't think was possible but here we are. Akari was also slightly hesitant, as if he wanted to say something else. "Don't-... Don't worry about me, not like I'm the one just... passed out over there..." He muttered dryly, his hand subtly gesturing over to Kubo. Honestly that comment made him feel a little out of place, like his presence was just adding something else to Lucian's plate, but he figured acting upon it
Besides, he couldn't just flat-out say, "Oh hey Lucian, I'm just sticking around because I can haha! Totally not because being alone may or may not be a death sentence right now, and all these new bandages totally don't mean anything!" now could he? Lucian was already concerned and had a full enough plate, no need to give him something else to worry about. Well, not like he wasn't worried about it already, but still. But... Even then, he still felt guilty for staying. The reasoning behind it was selfish, and the sheer amount of awkwardness that filled the room was enough to change his name to Awkwari. Oh wait, we already did that. Sucks to be you, Awkwari, this is your life now.
"...just... With the murders, and... Everything that happened in our lives. And everything that is still happening. It's... All so confusing, and difficult."
Everything that happened, huh? Confusing and difficult were nice ways to put it, to say the least.
"...do you... Want to talk?"
Talk? Talking only shared what didn't need to be said, what shouldn't be said. Talking only wasted breath. Talking only burdened other people. Talking only dug his grave deeper and deeper, and at this point it was getting a little hot down here. Talking only reminded him of times past, times that didn't need to be remembered, times that only brought pain. Talking only brought pain, not only from the memories. Talking was only a waste of time.
That's why he didn't do much of it, after all.
"I-..." He paused, slowly closing his mouth while the silence hung in the air. "...Not much to talk about, is there?"
Sutaraitsu Umemoto
"Ack! Setsuna, are you...umm...okay?" Sutaraitsu reached at Setsuna's head. "Uhhh, we could go to the Nurse's Office if you need to."
He blushed shyly upon seeing Setsuna do so, shoving his scarf onto his mouth.
Mika Uyehara
"Okay, fiiiine," Mika whined as he stopped being a nonexistent character that his creator definitely does not regret making. "What do you want, Miyako."
He sighed as he approached her.
Kubo Atsushi
Kubo could faintly hear a buzzing around his head. It was like a fly. A bug he wanted to quash.
Kaoru had hated bugs, hadn't she?
Setsuna Jun
"Nope! Nope! It's all good!" He seized Sutaraitsu's hand and dragged him inside before he could change his mind. "Let's go! Onto freedom!"
Wow, his nose sure hurt!
Also wow, Sutaraitsu was really pretty-
Lucian Arbred's POV
Lucian noticed Kubo seemed to be slightly awake. Was he alright? He looked slightly upset...
He walked over and sat down, gently running his fingers through his hair. He could... Still talk to Akari like this, right?
"...Akari, are... You sure you're alright? It's okay if you're not. Really."
...
"If there's anything you need to talk about... You can talk about it. I won't judge, I promise."
He passionately put his hand to his chest, with a sparkle in his eyes, offering Akari the most reassuring smile he could muster.
"I'm..."
He sighed.
"...sorry if this is annoying. I just... Want to help you. If you need it."
Right. Because you can't even catch a breath without helping someone, huh, Mr. Martyr? Gotta fix the people, make sure they're in working order? Look at you! Even now you're stroking through Kubo's hair in an attempt to comfort him even though he's half-asleep, and Akari is just EXISTING and you still feel like you just HAVE to help him, huh? Because that's all you're good for.
...
It's your only importance. Your only relevance. You don't even want to step back and face your feelings, if only for a moment.
"Or, I mean, we could always talk about something else! If you want. Whatever you want. Whatever makes you happy."
He let out an awkward laugh.
I'm fine.
Please, there was no matter of being in love with Kubo. There was no matter of accepting a truth about his childhood. There was no matter of telling anyone either. There was no truth. Everything was going to be okay.
He didn't matter anyway!!
Just help the people.
The IMPORTANT people.
Namely, not you, Lucian.
Sawyer Laurens's POV
The evil presence was outside, over.
How funny. They wanted to hug a puffin. What was a puffin?
Alone inside of the room, well, there was the other one. But they had conveniently gone into the Infamous T-Posing Syndrome because their roleplayer was neglecting them.
There was red. Red.
Redredredred.
All over Sawyer's hands. Sawyer's shaking hands. Their heart thudded.
Do you remember that day?
...
What day?
...
The day it all went to hell. All because of you. You're a monster, Sawyer.
...
Oh, how silly and funny. Their mind wasn't making any sense.

Narrator
And with a click, all the doors sealed shut, and the Ultimates were left on their lonesome. Trapped within the four walls of Hope's Peak Academy- and their own minds.
Except for two ultimates who remained- smiles set on their faces.
Kubo Atsushi
Kubo hated people.
Everyone around you hated people. That's where you learnt it. So and so was out drinking late. She got pregnant, that's why her family kicked her to the curb. He stays out too late at the park- what are his parents thinking?
It was normal, to an extent. You gossiped and you tittered and fluttered around the living room talking about kids who'd lost a parent and had no one left to them in the world.
Kids like him.
Normal was f*cking stupid. It pissed Kubo off down to his very centre. Who the hell cared how long you spent at the park, or that you never went to Church on Sundays? Why should anyone give a flying f*ck?
Everyone trapped themselves in their tittering and giggling and played pretend. Oh we're nice, oh we donate every week to the church and so on and so on.
That was what normal meant.
Pretending.
Pretenders like Lucian and Kaoru- they pissed him off more than anything.
Liars, that's what they were. Liars.
Kubo wouldn't even claim he was any better. He wanted to use them, that's all it came down to. Kaoru wanted friends. He gave that to her and sucked her dry. Lucian wanted protection. He slept in his dorm and yelled at him until he went to jump off a bridge.
But something was wrong. After all that, still somehow Lucian was...
Lucian was here. In his room. Why? Lucian came to Kubo, wanting to protect him, after all he'd said there? What the f*ck? What was Lucian trying?
He had to be trying something- because no one could be good, right? Yeah...
No one.
Shi took a while to respond due to a case of the common roleplayer's neglect.
"Of course I would. I know I'm not always the best person..."
Understatement of the year
"and I'm really not good with people..."
just keep talking, make this last
"but..."
"I do love you. I'm good at knowing that."
Miyako Hiroto
Miyako had her arms crossed as she listened. Finally, trying to hide a smile, she sighed. "Alright, Shi, you flatterer. Get in here."
Sutaraitsu Umemoto
Sutaraitsu sat on Setsuna's bed, his rose pink eyes eyeing Setsuna's face. It'll be fine, he doesn't look too hurt or anything.
"Ummm...do you wanna start with something? Or, umm...should I?" He asked curiously, tugging at his scarf nervously.
Mika Uyehara
did miyako give mika interactions
Setsuna Jun
Wow, haha! His eyes sure were pretty! And the way he tugged that scarf sure was adorable! And the way Setsuna was falling off the bed was probably neither of those things.
He gripped onto the sheets, praying to the gods that he wouldn't fall off and embarrass himself.
"A..Anything works! We can sleep or uh-"
Wait, what did he mean by that?
Setsuna checked. Two queer boys alone in a room . On a bed. Both incredibly pretty.
He felt faint. Heterosexuality was dead. The gods (roleplayers) killed it.
Sutaraitsu Umemoto
Sutaraitsu blinked. "Ehh? Umm, I mean, we can talk and then sleep together?" He shifted closer to Setsuna.
"So, ummm, do you think the government has the original copies of eldritch magic books?" He whispered. "Like, if they're hiding them from us to keep us in the dark?"
Setsuna Jun
"Eh? Sleep together- I mean-" He blushed. "I'm not opposed."
He closed his eyes in bliss at Sutaraitsu's words. "The eldritch magic books aren't just kept by the government. The CIA is directly involved. That's why they bombed the moon- to keep their operation secret!"
Everyone knew that lunar eclipses were the result of government bombings on the moon. Everyone... smart anyway...
Setsuna really hoped Sutaraitsu knew!
That'd be really... cute.
