He fixed his hair quickly.
"Heyyy...Mei. You seem overly enthusiastic about these recent murder-related events."
"Kaoru- a murderer, huh? Well, was one. She's not anymore."
Sucks to be her, I guess.
"Doesn't seem like the type, right?"
Futatabi Akarui
Futatabi didn't go to the execution room, or see what happened. She just sat and stared at the spot where Kaoru had once been.
Shi no shiryō
Shi stared on in thinly-veiled awe. "This bear is morbid. Not even effortfully so, considering the lack of creativity here. This bear is fucked up."
Sawyer Laurens's POV
Mei didn't seem sad though. Sawyer headed over to them, blinking.
"Hey, um, what's going on? Everybody seems super sad about something. And why are my glasses all Katsumi? I mean misty!"
Darcy Harper's POV
Darcy couldn't help but lift their head, and turned to see Sawyer talking to Mei. For a moment, they felt like their heart stopped.
OH MY GOD. Get. Away. From. Her.
What were they doing?! Trying... to have a conversation?
Why did... Darcy feel...
...jealous?...
...don't tell me. Please, don't tell me.
How the hell? Why the hell?
Darcy buried their burning face in the hugging of Miyako and Setsuna. No. NO. GOD. DAMMIT.

There he was again, fixing his hair... Why did he insist on doing that? Weird, but ok...
"Hmm? Overly enthusiastic? Of course! I live for these kinds of things, it's my job after all! Hehe, get it? Liiiive?" Mei's excitement was clearly wearing off, as evident by the almost forced giggles. She knelt down beside him and tried to look him in the eyes, even knowing that he probably hated it.
"Well I could say the same for you, not too fazed, huh?"
Oh but Idris was, she saw. He had escaped for a reason, he was obviously fazed. Looks like Mei was the only student who knew the life they were now stuck in, the only one who recognized the horrors each and every one of them were going to face. She knew, and she was prepared. She didn't let herself become attached, even if she was getting really close to Idris. She knew these deaths were coming.
"Hmmm... Nope, definitely not the type! Little miss sweetheart, cared for the children and that therapist, only to be an evil little killer~ What a tragedy!"
Mei let a pause hang in the air momentarily before she repositioned herself and put on a more serious tone. "Probably gonna get punished for the sins of my past here, the red on my hands finally being shown..."
"And I'm perfectly fine with that."
Mei smiled sweetly, a tinge of sadness glossing her face.
"Hey Idris... how much blood do you have, covering your hands?"
Miyako Hiroto
Bundle me in, won't you? Miyako considered socking the other girl in the jaw, but found she couldn't lift her hand. Everything was in shades of grey. Even her own body felt like the fire had gone out.
She shuddered, and gently pried Darcy off her.
"You know Mei," she said loudly. "I think that accusations like that are only going to doom yourself. You might want to chill down the villain act. You aren't selling it very well."
She looked down at Setsuna, at his trembling terrified body, ad set her jaw.
She didn't care. That wasn't why she was doing this. It was just- She was just a little annoyed, that's all.
Setsuna's tears didn't matter.
"So, we going or what?"
Kubo Atsushi
Kubo pondered it all for a very long time. As Lucian stared at him, hope in those eyes- he hated hated hated hated-
"Sure," he said dully. "Why not."
It didn't really matter, did it? His revenge was complete. Kaoru was dead. Might as well live, with all that that entailed.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Well...
That was certainly a reaction out of him, she wasn't sure it was the one she was expecting though.
"Hmm?"
She tilted her head sideways, a neutral, but innocent expression now took place of the melancholy, serious one she had before.
"I see, oh well."
"Nevermind then! Hehe, I neeeeever said anything~" The smile reappeared and she adjusted herself once again, acting like nothing ever happened.
She couldn't risk doing that again, being vulnerable. She was being serious, those last few moments. She wasn't sure why she was, it just... happened.
Her curiosity about Idris only grew and grew, more and more things for her to uncover...
Sawyer Laurens's POV
Sawyer skipped around the room, wondering when the plot would proceed and if they should have character interactions with anybody.
"Going where?!" Sawyer chirped. "Where's everybody going?" they asked Miyako, curiosity sparkling in their eyes.
Darcy Harper's POV
Wait a minute... what should I do?
Nothing, obviously. ...what were they even supposed to say, anyway?
Darcy felt Miyako pry herself away, and embarrassed, they stopped hugging her and Setsuna. The problem brewed within Darcy's mind. Besides the obvious one...
What would they even say, anyway? "Oh, hey, Sawyer! I have a crush on you. And there is no freaking way you feel the same way! And things are super awkward between us, ever since..."
Darcy shuddered. They... Almost felt bad... What had gone on for Sawyer, since they'd parted?
And who was I, anyway, leaving them, the way I did?
They stared at a wall.
"Mom...," Darcy murmured, hugging their arms tightly to their chest. "I'm sorry. And yet... Sometimes I resent you, for what you did."
Images flashed in Darcy's mind, like photographs in an album. Their lives playing out.
There was a time when they were both best friends. But then... Things happened, in life, like they do...
Darcy curled up in a corner, tears welling up in their eyes. The day Mom said...
The day she said...
That I couldn't...
Hiccuping sobs came from Darcy. They looked up and saw Sawyer, bright as the morning sun. How they wished they could be like that. Just so happy, as if nothing had happened...
Lucian Arbred's POV
"...okay. If you want to talk, we should probably find somewhere more private to do it."
Lucian somehow felt awkward mentioning that. His face flushed. The hell? Am I thinking of what I said about Kaoru?
The guilt washed over him. That was one of the last things he said to her...
But he shook it off. He was supposed to help others, not grieve for his own problems.

But her smile replaced the sense of eeriness washed over him and all was calm. At least, he hoped.

There's blood on her hands, though. His blood.
There's blood on their hands. Blood and a hell of a lotta gasoline.
He shook his head quickly.
Idris cleared his throat.
"Never mind." He muttered.
"So...uh."
idris is so great at conversations right <3
"What-
What are you gonna do now?"
He internally facepalmed. He sucked at talking to people.
"Maybe Monokuma has something planned-" Idris whispered.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Mei grinned as she watched Idris during the longer-than-normal pause, perking up when he finally said something. "What are we gonna do? Hmmm..."
"I'm not too sure! Guess we just go on with the day!" She sounded so carefree, so oblivious... She was changing just as much, and just as quickly, as the flow of time itself. Nothing stayed the same for even a second in this world.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
No no no no... He couldn't start thinking about that, not right here, not right now. He got up and quickly wiped the tear from his eye and rushed away, avoiding any and all interaction. He wasn't sure if he could handle being around people right now...
He almost ran out of the room, heading straight for his dorm, he wasn't letting anything or anyone stop him.
...
When he finally got there, he fell to his bed and immediately hunched over, gripping his dark green hair like it was the last thing he'd ever touch. He was pretty sure he was ripping some hair out, but he couldn't feel it.
His head already hurt like hell anyways, nothing could make it worse.
"Why... Why why why why why? Just... Just stop!"
First, the one thing that was probably going to keep him alive was stolen from him, now the murder... Why couldn't this all be a dream... Why...
A sharp blade was now in his possession, its origins will not be stated for classification reasons.
He could just... Stop all of this, stop everything that was ever happening to him with one good strike of this blade. He could finally be free...
Akari sat on his bed in shock, his breaths wildly out of control, his whole body shaking. He stared wide-eyed at the blade, thinking.
Thinking.
He could just...
Akari inched the sharp metal closer to his chest, then to his throat.
He could just...
Wow, it would be a shame if someone walked in on him, wouldn't it.
Someone whose name started with an S, and ended in utaraitsu.
Gotta love Akari having an edgy moment that's very generic and doesn't really do anything for the readers emotionally, yup, Daiko's such an amazing writer <3

Akora opened her eyes. She let go of her fistfulls of hair, tears brimming in her eyes. Running over to Solaro, she butted her head into her shoulder with a pleading look. Solaro glanced at the girl, and smiled.
She wrapped her arms around her, humming a melody with a lilt suggesting it was meant to be calming. Akora sighed, and relaxed a little.
Solaro let Akora free of her embrace, smiling. Akora fixed her face, profusely drying her eyes on her sleeve.
"What's wrong, Akora?" The child brushes messy orange hair out her her eyes, huffing at the wind, howling and swirling and pushing her hair in her eyes.
Akora sniffles, rubbing her face. "Tori pushed me!" She squeaked, teary eyes glistening. Solaro noticed a small graze on Akora's left hand. Akora's slightly older cousin, rough-and-tumble Tori, was a bossy brat.
Solaro flared indignantly. "Rude!" She stomped angrily. After flattening an ant hill, she looked up at Akora's reddened face. "Woof!" She said cheerily, smudging away a tear sliding down Akora's cheek. Akora's face twisted from a frown into a grin. "Meow!"
Solaro grasped Akora's hand. "Lets go throw pillows at 'er!" She squealed excitably.
"Okay then!" Akora agreed.

The dorms, eh?
God, Mei's mind was so deep in the gutter, it could rival how deep she was with your-
Y'know what, I'm not gonna finish that.
Mei had to suppress a devious grin when the unnecessary and inappropriate thoughts came to her head. She would've made a few jokes about it right now if she didn't want Idris to stick around. She said nothing about it and simply gave a curious grin before getting up and stepping away.
"Ooooh a dead body? Count. Me. IN!" She said enthusiastically, raring to go to the dorm hallway. "I wonder what we'll find~"
She dragged Idris along with her as she skipped to the dorms, humming that exact same tune. She had more pauses in between the notes, and the hums were low and quiet. For some reason, the tune hit differently after such a mind-boggling experience.
Oh well, she still continued skipping.
They finally made it, and all the doors were locked. Given how short of a time period it was from the execution to now, she doubted anyone was outside of the courtroom except for her and Idris. Didn't hurt to check though.

Darcy Harper's POV
Sawyer was like... a huge nerd brain. Somehow, they always got great grades without even trying!
And that... really frustrated Darcy. You couldn't expect Sawyer to excel at sports either, considering they weren't particularly physically fit, BUT THEY WERE GOOD AT SPORTS.
They were a natural with computers!
It seemed like they always effortlessly passed the tests, that their brain just absorbed every bit of information, and it all came out right!
They were great at math. Great at science. Great at... everything.
And Darcy always just saw them chattering away to others, always seeming like they had so, so much freedom.
So, so much spare time...
Every time Darcy tried their best, it felt like Sawyer always wound up doing better.
Get a B, Sawyer got a A-.
Get an A, Sawyer got an A+.
Always just... somehow ahead. And maybe it wouldn't be so bothersome, if they didn't do it so effortlessly.
Darcy knew that if they asked them for help, Sawyer would probably be willing to.
But...
Darcy couldn't stand that.
Darcy wanted their best to be better.
They knew it was petty, to resent Sawyer for it.
But, there was more to it than just that.
And combined with everything else? It was just too much...
I burned that bridge a long time ago, Sawyer. Sometimes, though, it feels like you act as though nothing ever happened. Like you always do. Just two days after the funeral, you seemed just fine.
They closed their eyes. Just... why? How can you act so happy and unbothered about everything? I wish I could be like that. I wish I didn't feel so upset whenever something bad happens. I wish I could be all "up" about life like you are.
(I don't know why but I have the strange feeling Lucian and Sawyer need replies!)

Why did that sentence sound so weird-
"I doubt anyone has come back to the dorms yet, though. We could snoop around.

"Maybe Saeko has a dead body hidden in their dorm somewhere. They give me a bad feeling.
...don't tell them I said that-"
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
"Your buddy Saeko? Hehe, alrighty~"
"Secrets secrets... I wonder what we'll fiiiiind~" She said in a sing-songy voice. She went up to the first dorm, her own, as well as Shi no Shiryō's. She had access to this one, but she doubted Shi was even here. She opened the door, and of course found nothing to note. It was left the exact same way it was when she left this morning. Although... Something small peeked out under her pillow, it was barely noticeable, but she quickly shut the door after giving Idris the "nope, nothin' here" look.
Next dorm, Saeko and Setsuna's. Knock knock knock... Nothing, as expected.
The next one down, Sutaraitsu and Akari's. Something felt... different about this one.
Knock knock knock
She waited longer this time, standing at the door for much longer than she did the previous door.

Knock knock knock
Akari lowered the blade, slowly stuffing it back where it came from, then pulled his hair back before putting his beanie back on.
Looks like fate wanted him to live another day, something he wouldn't be able to understand.
Besides... Who the hell was out there? Weren't they all still in the courtroom?
He waited for a second, staring at the door and didn't make a single breath.
Knock knock knock
Those knocks again... They were really insistent, weren't they? But... Why?
He slowly got up and dragged himself over to the door, hiding his face with his hair again. Not like it mattered since he was so tall, the height difference between him and everyone here was large enough that they could still see his face pretty easily if they wanted.
He gently opened the door...
And there was Mei, acting like a child, and Idris, just right behind her. Huh... What were they doing... And why were they doing it together?
"Uhh... Hey...? Did... Did something happen?"
His body was still shaking slightly, and his voice was a little more messed up than usual, but he tried his best to act normal, like everything was fine. Just... put on an act, right?
He looked at the girl in front of him, obviously faking everything she did, but she did it so well that it was convincing, she probably even convinced herself to feel that way.
How the hell did she do it? How can you have that much control of yourself? He envied her for that, and he hated it. He hardly even spoke to people, much less engaged in anything deep. He didn't have the ability to just... Act how he wanted around others...
Guess it was a blessing and a curse, he was a genuine guy for the cost of looking weak and crazy if the situation ever forced it. At least he wasn't crazy like the purple-haired woman in front of him, right?
His eyes narrowed as he scanned Mei's shared dorm.
There was something there.
"Hey- wait...what's-"
The door closed.
Idris frowned.
"Never mind." He whispered.
"Akari." He said. "Hello.
Umm."
He didn't really expect anyone to answer.
"No. Nothing. Apart from Kaoru's death, but-"
Who cares?
