Forum-Index → Roleplay → Private RP → Danganronpa Roleplay [PRIVATE]Idris shuffled away from Mei, letting her shoulder drop. His skin was crawling. Burning even, where she touched it.
"What's going on between you two?" He looked up. There were large bags underneath his eyes, and his hair was messier than usual.
"What's this...device nonsense?"
Lucian Arbred's POV
He wasn’t usually loud like this, but he wasn’t going to let this fly. He reached out a hand to Akari. “...you okay?”
Sawyer Laurens's POV
"We'll find it eventually!" they chirped.
"Right. If someone else doesn't find it first," Darcy remarked.
"Yeah, true! But we can do it, I know it!" Sawyer exclaimed, pumping a fist in the air.
"...whatever you say." Darcy rolled her eyes. "I can't help but wonder if there's some interesting drama going on elsewhere that we're missing out on."
"Nahhh, that couldn't be true," Sawyer replied, doing the She-Ra gay hand thing again.
"Ah, yeah. I guess you're right." She continued looking.

"Heyyy, rude! What, don't like bein' touched?" Mei frowned at Idris before sighing, then groaned loudly when the device was taken. Oh come on...
"I dunno, I was just tryin' to have some fuuuun!" She tried to sound enthusiastic, but she was incredibly annoyed.
Not only that... There was a newcomer here, an annoying one at that... She simply ignored them though, and went on with her day.
"Now if you'll excuuuuuuse me..." Mei turned on her heels and started running, hoping to catch up to Mika. Honestly, it was insulting that this guy thought they could just get away with it. She only caught a glimpse of their face when they passed by, but she knew who they were. The Ultimate Weapons Specialist. This was gonna be interesting... She had faith in her own abilities, especially after overpowering someone who had a massive advantage. Speaking of... Her chest hurt from the blow Akari dealt, but she would be fine, right? Only slowed her down a little bit, nothing much. Mei continued until she reached the thief, slowing down so she could walk beside them. "And who do we have here? Ooooh, a sad loner, not even botherin' to say hi! Well hey, I'm gonna eat some breakfast too, maybe we could chat theeerreee?"
"Or are you not in the talkin' mood? Hmm..."
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Honestly, could this day get any worse? Great, now the brat didn't even have it anymore. Was she that careless? Couldn't even keep it on her? Jesus... "I... Guess I'm fine..." He responded, not really paying attention to the loud person that suddenly burst in.
Akari got up with a small groan and exhaled sharply once he stood up. He adjusted himself so that he didn't look like an idiot, then turned his head to face Idris, but didn't let his eyes show. "I... Honestly don't know..."
"I just... I need that thing back, but she's being a jerk about it... Don't even know her, yet she's out to get me..."
Akari crossed his arms and gave another sigh before lifting his head and approaching Idris. He stopped so that there was still a good amount of distance between them, but not enough to be out of conversing range. His hair parted to reveal a sleep-deprived, annoyed-as-hell expression. His dark skin became even darker under the hair that was still on his face. "Sorry about that, I guess... Are... Are you guys close? Is she always like... this?"
"Anyways... I don't think we've met... Akari." He held out his hand for a handshake, but did nothing else. Might as well pass the time while Mei tried to get that thing back. He wasn't even going to bother, he stood no match compared to those two. Yeah, sure, he was much stronger than your average person, but...
He couldn't risk it.
Miyako Hiroto
"Come along, sweetcheeks!" Miyako dragged goth girl around the corner. "Not much farther yet~ I did intense searching of this place. I know ex-actly where-"
She yanked her arm out of Miyako's.
Miyako stumbled, surprised, then spun to face her. "What?"
"Why did you bring me away from the others?" The girl crossed her arms. She was shaking, Miyako noticed. "Are you planning on killing me? What do you know about me?"
Miyako smirked. "Abso-lutely... Nothing! I just thought you were cute. Don't know a thing, or want a thing!"
Kaoru Kajiwara, she thought. Ultimate Child Caretaker. Kubo's pet. Sheer coward down to her bones, and full of all that gothy religious stuff to top it off.
"I'm Miyako. What's your name? Ooh! And your talent too! I wanna get to know you all!"
I know everything, sweetheart.
Surprisingly, Kaoru set her jaw. "Don't treat me like that," she said quietly.
"Like what-? Hey!" Miyako reached to stop her, but Kaoru was already going past her. She hurried to catch up. "Geez, chill, girl. You only live once, y'know! Make friends while you're still alive! Especially if you believe in ghosts. 'Cause Imma be after- Hey! Hey! Slow down!"

Setsuna Jun
Oh dear. Crowds of people. That wasn't goooo- okay Setsuna just crashed right into somebody who was 100% hot andddd
Yeah.
"Ow!" Setsuna cried. He was met with a head of white hair and-
oh dear.
The purple haired girl from earlier.
Setsuna Jun
Before he could be restrained/murdered, Setsuna ducked under the white haired person, and made a break for it. He was halfway down the hall when he spotted green haired girl and Miyako.
He came to a stop, and fell in pace with them.
Neither looked at him.
Even Miyako.
It made his skin crawl, though he couldn't quite put his finger on why.
The three arrived at Classroom #1. It was a total mess- a sink was in the corner, overflowing with actual dishes. Piles of crates and a freaking coffin sat against the wall.
The whole place was quite frankly, a little bit intimidating.
"Well," Miyako declared to a silent room. "This sucks."
"Yeah..." Setsuna stared at the disaster before him. Was there really anything they could do?
"Let's carry things out," Green Hair decided. "If we clear the place, we can find whatever it is the bear hid here. Agreed?"
She didn't wait for a response, marching towards the coffin. She heaved it into a resting position. "Setsuna, give me a hand here."
So she knows my name. Guess I shouldn't be surprised...
He tiptoed over and tentatively ran a hand down the side. "What should I do?"
"Lift with your legs, don't bend your back too much, and take that end."
Setsuna hopefully followed instructions. With a few short jerks, they lifted it up. Setsuna nearly stumbled under the weight. His glasses wobbled on his nose.
"Now..." Green Hair muttered. "Out."
Setsuna may have been the Ultinate Dictionary, but at that moment, he had just two words to describe this situation.
This sucks.
The two stumbled towarda the door, and Setsuna prayed for the CIA to finally end him. Or anyone else, just get him inside the coffin, please.
Lucian Arbred's POV
It might happen again. He didn't like that at all.
Lucian couldn't help but wonder, if the bear wanted them to split up looking for the object to get them out of the school, or not going, to increase the likelihood of a murder taking place. Furthermore, he didn't deem it likely that they'd all be offered an easy way out of the school.
This was a trap.
It felt like a trap.
Lucian's senses were tingling with a shadowy feeling, a dark, shadowy feeling that made his knees shake.
Who among them would be alive, in the end?...
It was almost like that all over again...
Darcy Harper's POV
Darcy stopped facepalming and looked in curiosity. There, she spotted Miyako. And a couple of other people. Darcy saw someone she didn't recognize peek his head around the corner. AND THEN SAWYER.
"Are we all doing, like, a thing here?" Sawyer asked, making a winding wheel motion with their index fingers. Darcy rolled her eyes.
"Uhhh. What do you mean "all doing"? Who is that? Who is everybody in there? I'm so lost right now."
"You missed like, almost the entire Prologue, Darcy. If this was a book, I mean! Where the heck were you?"
"I don't know? Existing?" Darcy snapped sarcastically.
"Well, jeez, you could have made an appearance! It would have been so much more interesting!"
The stranger slowly slinked away from the arguers in the doorway, unbeknownst to them.
Lucian Arbred's POV
Lucian wondered if he should break them up and introduce himself. Somehow, he doubted they'd literally kill each other though. It seemed more like petty disagreements. He'd keep an eye on them both though.
For now, he had to look for the thing that'd get...
Who was he trying to get out of here?
...himself? Kaoru? Everyone?
He didn't even know what the conditions were, if this so-called magical item even existed, and wasn't all some big trick. He took to trying to move the items in the room. Then, he spotted Kaoru.
...
It seemed she was okay. He smiled sadly over at her.
He took to trying to move the objects in the room, maybe, oh, maybe, if those two would just stop bickering for two seconds, they could help out. He wondered if he should try to break it up.
Sawyer Laurens's POV
"...you said since jelly-filled donuts exist, why not peanut butter? SERIOUSLY, WHY?! PEANUT. BUTTER. DONUTS. That is an insult to bakers!"
"I'm just saying!" Sawyer shouted. "Wait." They blinked. "Weren't we doing something before this?..."
Darcy almost screamed but cut themself off. "Okay, that's it. Let's just ****** move these crates."
The short stranger glared in Darcy's direction. It appeared it was forbidden to curse in front of Sawyer.
"I have no idea what you just said, but sure!" Sawyer chirped. They brightened, and their heart fluttered up like a butterfly. Kaoru was in here!
Wait, why were they so happy to see her? Eh, they didn't know.
"Heyyyy, Kaoru!" Sawyer chirruped.
Darcy narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms. "Oh, don't tell me."
"Don't tell you what?"
Darcy laughed to herself. "...nothing."
Darcy Harper's POV
She didn't know how she knew it. Maybe it was something about the way Sawyer looked at the green-haired person. Darcy didn't know exactly who that person was.
...but somehow, she just knew it.
Honestly, Soy Sauce, is now really the time for romance? Darcy thought, unaware of how freaking hypocritical that thought sounded as she moved the crates.
Sawyer took to moving the crates as well, an impish grin on their face.
...but suddenly, as Darcy looked at Sawyer's smile, they felt like they were going to vomit.
Their face disintegrated into a skull before her, their body falling to pieces, through the floor, a tombstone in their place, I-
...
What the hell was that?
Darcy started shaking, and fell to the floor in a dizzying faint.
"Dace! Hey, Dace? You okay?" Sawyer cried out.
"Dace? Daaaa...."
The world grew blurry and blacked out.
Lucian Arbred's POV
What the hell happened to that person? Did she just... look really disturbed and faint out of nowhere?
He hated this interruption. He hated it.
He checked her vitals, he didn't know much about this sort of thing, but she appeared to just have fainted.
Maybe they should just let her rest for now.
"Heh, Darcy? Was that crate too much to move? Not to worry!" Sawyer patted her shoulder. "I- I'll just move it myself! Don't worry, I can find it on my own!"
Lucian breathed a sigh of relief. Sawyer seemed to be taking things... well, as usual. He was a bit worried about this "Darcy" himself. But, once they all got out of the school...
What am I thinking? IF we get out of the school, if this so-called item even exists, we can get her medical attention.

"What's in this thing?" Setsuna asked, panting.
Kaoru patted the edge and tried to pry it up. "Locked," she said ruefully.
"Knowing the bear, another one of its twisted games," Setsuna muttered. "Let's go back to the others. We still have like, ten crates to get through."
Kaoru's answering sigh told him all he needed to know about her opinions on the matter.

Miyako was just exploring the room, ignoring the others. They could clean this room out and make it "presentable". She was looking for the treasure!

Kubo looked inside, and there, he saw it.
The Ultimate Time Traveller had run out of time.
A bloody chunk of meat crumbled against the wall, mouth open in an eternal scream. Swimming in a pool of blood and something that nearly made him laugh.

Mei was getting bored at this point, chasing a random person who had little to no screentime all for a silly little thing. She eventually slowed down and found her way in the hallway containing the classrooms. Up ahead, a piercing scream echoed through the corridor. Classroom #1... The one Monokuma suggested, which held the "hint" to their escape.
Mei entered the room with a curious look, peeking in to see a crowd and...
A dead body, chopped up like it was celery on a cutting board, with... Leeks of all things being embedded in their body.
The time traveler, eh? How interesting. Well, no going back now, guess the games have begun. Upon seeing this horrific sight, Mei's face brightened up and her body had a rush of pure excitement and serotonin. This was getting good... Oh, she couldn't wait to see how this all played out. Her head was barely peeking through the door frame, but she was still cautious to not let her excitement show for too long.
Mei slowly walked in the door, acting completely oblivious to the situation, approaching the group with a perplexed look. "Hey, what's goin on he-"
Oh god, it was even worse than she expected... Wonderful! What a sight to behold, honestly. Laughter began to fill the air, the sick, haunting laughter that would send chills down your spine. It was so loud, it was able to reach as far as that scream did.
"Hoooooly sh**! I didn't think it would actually happen!" She paused for a moment to catch her breath, only to start laughing again. "And the leeks! Holy sh** the leeks, that's f***ing hilarious!" For the next few moments, all Mei could do was laugh and make morbid comments, complimenting the handiwork of this kill.
She had to wonder though... Was this the clue that damn bear was talking about? Was this some sick joke he was playing, saying this dead body was the key? Just... drilling in the fact that everyone needed to be dead in order for an escape to happen? Mei had to admit, that was psychotic as hell, and she liked it. Too bad that didn't change her opinion for Monokuma. In fact, it made her resent him more, because that could only mean that the damn stuffed animal thought of something that she never could. She didn't like it when people, or robots, were better than her.
Well, the high could only last so long. She finally calmed down enough to speak clearly, then said something actually important. "Alright alright, an investigation you say?" She turned her head over to the therapist, then chuckled a little. "Maybe if that damn bear was here, he'd give us some useful info for once..." she muttered loudly, then let her eyes roam as she waited.
Oh well, 2 seconds was too long, she was impatient. "HEY, MONOKUMA! THAT'S YOUR GODDAMN CUE!" For such a small person, she was surprisingly loud...

"I see... Anyways, I should probably apologize for my-" His voice faltered upon hearing the scream, and he was sent into alert mode. "What the hell was that...? ...Want to go check?"
Assuming Idris said yes, Akari began to cautiously speed-walk through the school until he came across Classroom #1 and a large crowd. As soon as he came close to the door, chilling laughter stabbed his eardrums and caused him to recoil, hands over his ears once again. Jesus christ... Why was everything here so loud?
The laughter and very concerning comments continued, but Akari slowly crept inside and mentally groaned at the sight of Mei being the source, not even noticing the body. When he finally did, his multi-colored eyes widened and his entire body tensed up. His dark skin went as pale as it could, and he looked so unbelievably shocked that it was concerning.

The thought echoed in his head.
Why did I think we could all live here together?

Lucian sighed. Sawyer still seemed to think everyone wasn't real somehow. And was that really doing them any favors?
How was that even possible when they'd injured their arm so badly? The human mind truly was... incredible, in terms of what it could make you believe.
He was wrong, he reflected, in thinking that this was a trap. That the treasure hunt was a trap.
No. Maybe not wrong, but misdirected.

Setsuna ran like hell. He heard Green Hair crying for him to slow down- but the words melted into nothing. Something had happened.
Someone had-
He burst into the room, and came to a stop.
Blood was pooled by the closet door.
"C-Calm down..." Green Hair panted. Then she went still. Utterly still. "Is that..." Her hands flew up to her face and she gave a broken sob into them.
The ground was shaking beneath him, or maybe it was just him, trembling and cowering as the world ended.
"Oh my god," he whispered.
"Puhuhuhuhu~ Mei, you know you're my favourite!"
And then the bear appeared.
"I managed to escape the wife! And now, I'm here. To help you cute little Ultimates with your investigation." The bear grinned. "The Ultimate Time Traveller! Colour me impressed! That's quite the first kill!"
"Quite the first kill...?" Green Hair asked.
"Of course, I know who the killer is." Monokuma said. "But you all have to figure out! And therefore, it is time to commence the Ultimate Super Duper Investigation!" He clapped his paws together. "Get it? Of course you do, my smart murderous little students~ For once, one of my motives have actually been put to use!"
Setsuna cringed inwardly. So... the motives really did...
He shivered, rubbing his arms.
"Such a despairfullll event... In any case, I'm here to answer any questions."
"Doesn't the killer get to leave?" Kaoru asked. "That was a part of the rules you outlined..." She shivered too. Setsuna felt a flash of unwanted sympathy.
"Of course not." Monokuma smiled. "Not until after the Ultimate Class Trial."
Setsuna raised his eyebrows. That sounded... dramatic. "How does it work?" he asked.
"Puhuhu, one question at a time. Investigations are done after each and every murder at Hope's Peak Academy! 30 minutes to explore any and all surrounding rooms. Find evidence, show it to each other, all proceeds go to charity! It's really very simple!"
"Evidence.." He was beginning to feel dizzy. "What kind of evidence?"
"Puhuhuhu~" And then the bear popped out of sight.
"Well," Miyako muttered. "That was useful..." She was paler than usual, watching blue-hair at the opposite end of the room who was-
What? Setsuna squinted, temporarily distracted. What the heck is he doing?
"Lucian!" Green Hair exclaimed and threw her arms around him.
Kaoru Kajiwara
He's okay! He's okay-
She sobbed into his shoulder, clutching to him with all her strength. "I'm so glad-" she hiccupped. "You're okay-" Maybe Kubo was watching her, but that didn't matter.
"You're okay..." She pulled back from Lucian and clasped his face in her hands. "I'm... I'm so glad that..." She bit her lip. "Thank you."
She released him. "I guess... we have to investigate now, huh?"
Kubo Atsushi
Everyone was going insane. The girl- Mei, was that her name?- appeared to have pissed some people off. That would provide a suitable distraction.
He knelt down next to the body.
He removed his gloves, and examined his chewed up nails. "Now."
"Dried blood. Dead at least the night. Someone took half her body. Looks like she was cut mighty cleanly."
"Bisection," he mused. "Wonder how they did that..."
"Needed force. But she was probably killed in another way, or there'd be too much lost blood. Oh, look. A pile of leeks in the corner. And a pretty little spot of colour."
"Wha...?"
Kubo snapped his glove back on, and glanced at Miyako. She was stirring to consciousness and looking at him weirdly.
Oh right, his hands were on a body.
He removed them and headed to the leeks at the opposite end of the room, instead picking his way through the vegetables. He could feel Miyako's eyes on his back, and after he finished combing through, he placed his prize off to the side.
Then he stood up, and glanced at his companions.

"Hey hey hey, chocolate girl!" Mei frowned upon being met with Darcy's outburst. "Yeah, I can see that, but there's no point in mopin' about it, hmmmmmm?" She got all up in the screaming girl's face and giggled a little before backing up, interrupted by a ball of black and white.
"Oh shut up..."
Mei didn't appreciate being called that weirdo's "favorite", that was just an insult.
Well, at least she got some useful info. They had 30 minutes to gather evidence, then they were going to play Ace Attorney among each other. She assumed if the killer was found, everyone else won, but what happened if they couldn't find "whodunit"? What would happen to the killer if they did? Mei's heart raced just thinking about it, this was all so exciting! Much more interesting than just letting the killer go free.
Hey wait a minute... "Hey, will there happen to be some leeway for the killer since they didn't kno-"
Aaaaand the bear was gone... Dammit...
Mei felt like she was missing something, something like a small tablet with some handy-dandy rules on it...
Ooooh nooo, her omniscience was telling her of another universe that she shouldn't even know about! How tragic!
Mei said nothing about all the info thrown at her, and instead turned her attention to the guy touching the body. Damn, no hesitation. She didn't really care about whatever was going on with Akari, not like it was important anyways. She instead knelt down beside Kubo and stared at the puddle of blood. "So... You gonna share with the class? I wanna know toooooo!" Her tone was whiny as hell, but the smirk on her face gave mixed messages. She momentarily looked around, the babysitter from earlier was all on the therapist
Well, she wasn't gonna wait around for Kubo to tell her anything. She was going to do her own investigating. She reached her finger out into the red abyss below her and scooped it up, then raised it to her mouth, licking the thick red liquid off her finger. Yum.
Nothing seemed to be wrong with it, the blood seemed normal enough. It did taste a little weird though... A more potent taste of older blood, but... It tasted "fresh" as well... Then again, this was a time traveler, so maybe they were just old. So this girl wasn't poisoned or anything, only chopped up... Good to know, I guess. The body seemed to be neatly chopped, and half of it was missing, so the blade used was sharp... Maybe she should go look for the other half? Speaking of... If the body was just guillotined in the middle, wouldn't there be much more blood? Interesting... She took notice to the spot of color, jotting it down in her mind, then stood up again. The leek part was interesting... Were they killed before the vegetables pierced their body, or after? She assumed before, since it would be incredibly difficult to kill someone with such a dull object... The leeks seemed to just be a cruel joke, which might narrow down the suspects. Who associated this girl to leeks? She'd have to find out...
Mei moved the body around to check for any signs of trauma. She did it carefully as to not obstruct the evidence, but even touching a body could count as "tampering"... Eh, whatever. Interesting... Some damage to the head, maybe that was important?
"Oh well, you guys have fun obsessing over this damn body! Toodles~" She waved her fingers before walking out the door, on her way to the kitchen.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Everyone was screaming at each other, the room seemed to warp around him, and the red... That color bled into his eyes and permanently left an imprint on his brain. He didn't ever want to see that much blood ever again...
Well now he did, and he couldn't do anything about it. His chest throbbed in pain, and so did the entire upper half of his torso. He couldn't even pay attention to anything, he couldn't open his mouth to speak, he couldn't do anything. His eyes were just fixated into the void of red, the thoughts and feelings he had that one day all rushing back to him.

Darcy inhaled. Just focus. There's no time to cry. "...maybe you're right. There's no point in moping about it." Sawyer began looking through the crates for some reason. "Wonder if there's anything in hereee?" They stuck their face in for some reason, rifling through it the container.
...Chocolate girl... huh?... Darcy shuddered and crossed their arms. She felt queasy... why? Why were things like this?
The-- Killing Game. Of course.

[Sanae Kochiya's Theme, String Quartet Remix by NyxTheShield]
As soon as he felt the purple-haired lunatic that was chasing him slow down and enter a random classroom, he stopped and leaned on a wall, panting heavily. Feeling dizzy, he fell onto the floor.
Gosh, running is hard...
I guess I'll go look in the classroom later.
He made his way to his dorm and hid the weird device thing somewhere, and placed his throwing knife back into his notebook. Walking back to the odd classroom, he saw...
The bloodied corpse Horatia Aionios, the Ultimate Time Traveler. The only person capable of preventing the Killing Game was now dead. Leeks were plunged into her lifeless body and blood stained the closet a dark crimson.
He took a deep breath and withdrew his throwing knife.
"Which one of you did this."
Darcy Harper's POV
Darcy froze at the newcomer. "H-Hey! No! I didn't kill her!" she sputtered, putting their hands in the air. "I promise, I don't even know her! Th-this whole thing... is so awful..."
Lucian Arbred's POV
"...when was Horatia last seen? Who last saw her?" he asked at last.
He noted Mika, biting his lip. "...don't look at me. You decided to maybe go through with the bomb idea. Where'd that go, by the way?"
Sawyer Laurens's POV
Darcy appeared to be praying with a frustrated expression on their face.
Sawyer blinked at Mika, but just shrugged. "Dunno. How do you guys like my hat? Pretty cool, huh?"

"Everything is going to be okay."
Kubo Atsushi
Everyone kept talking to him. Just go away. And shut up with your worthless assumptions.
The murder weapon, oh the murder weapon. Everyone kept going on and on when the answer to this case was sitting in this very room. And if what he suspected was true, then everyone's alibis would only confirm it.
He straightened. Thanks, he thought, tightening his glove. Now stay down for a while, okay?
"I think we've discovered all there is to discover," he said.
"Puhuhuuh~ And that marks the time limit! See your cute, Ultimately butts over to the Entrance Hall!"
He turned to the newcomer, raising his eyebrows. A knife, eh?
Well, now I know who not to kill.
Miyako Hiroto
"Who was the last one to see her?"
Miyako went still. Miko was in the doorway. He had one of his precious knives, clutched in his hand.
And she was the last one to see Horatia, before her death.
"Pfft, imagine knowing," she scoffed. "Well, whatever." She ran a shaky hand through her hair. "We'll find out at the Class Trial, Miko, so don't worry your pretty little head about it."
Oh god.
Kaoru Kajiwara
She tightened her arms around him. I can't let go-
"A class trial," she said faintly. "We're going to have to uncover the murderer. And... then what?" She shivered, rubbing her arms. "What happens if we fail?"
The boy with glasses looked at her. "I think we're about to find out."
Darcy Harper's POV
"I came here to court somebody, not to take part in a LITERAL COURT," Darcy muttered.
I can't believe it. Someone... actually died.
God. I don't want to go back to court.
Darcy inhaled.
I wish I could believe everything'll be fine. That we'll just discover the killer. But then what? What comes next?
Clutching at the vest obsessively. Heart pounding. Eyes opening and closing, as though urging oneself to focus on anything else. But all Darcy could see was the grim reality ahead of them all.
And that zany idiot didn't seem to see a thing.
Darcy wanted to punch a mirror and watch the glass shatter. She wanted to break down crying.
Let me lie down... I want to lie down. I feel ill, I... ugh.
Was it this? Was it that? Was it some combination?
But I'm gonna win. We'll figure out the answer to all this.
Darcy was fascinated that Kubo seemed to know what might be going on. It was almost like he was used to this sort of thing...
Sawyer Laurens's POV
The room was bright, and pink, yellow, orange, all fuzzy. Sparkles all around. Everyone smiled so happily. The sunlight felt nice and warm. Oh, the world was but a fluffy beach. Of touch and textures and sparks and dreams.
But shadows lurked at its edge, and Sawyer paled. A smile flickered into a grimace, back into a smile.
Everything was fine. Everything was absolutely fine.
All part of the plan. They skipped to the trial, the pain in their arm making them wince as they tried not to twitch so hard.
Lucian Arbred's POV
He could almost hear his sister, whimpering for help, clinging to him, as the screaming sounde-
"...we won't fail though, okay? I promise."
Ugh. Promises shouldn't be made so lightly. But the only aim of this was to calm her down.
He'd try his best, that was all he could promise.
But he had a bad feeling, this wasn't the first time.
That there would be more times after this time.
That almost all of them would wind up dead in the end.
"Come on... we have to go." He took Kaoru's hand, and smiled as reassuringly as he could. But that wasn't easy.
He didn't say anything to them, but he looked at Kubo, and then at Miyako, then at Sawyer. There was something cooking in his mind again, choked with questions, and with time, the answer would come to him.
And as he made his way to the trial room, he never let go of Kaoru's hand.
