After you had recieved the request, everything immediately went
dark. Once you awoken, it became clear that you had passed out, but
now one, or a few, more questions were on your mind. Where were
you? Where was everybody? Everything around you was a barren
wasteland, void of life. The color of the dirt below you reminded
you of the image that was shown in that weird room you were in
previously, confirming your guesses on where you were. A small
vibration rand it's way up your arm, causing you to turn your
attention towards it. There was a small pager in your hand, but it
seemed to have a gps displayed. Small beeps could be heard and dim
flashes could be seen, all trying to point you in a certain
direction, presumably towards the 'safe house'.
Zento woke up with a groan, confusion filling his mind as he looked
around him. He had woken up on the cold dirt, not in a desirable
position but he couldn't ask for much. He slowly got up and gazed
over the scene in front of him more closely. His gaze only changed
when a small buzz from his hand startled him. He looked down to see
a small device, one that reminded him of a pager, displaying an
image for him. He looked at it closely, trying to figure out its
purpose until he saw a small triangle on the screen, pointing
north. He thought about the 'safe house' mentioned, wondering if
the pager would lead to there. He wasn't all too cautious about
things, considering nothing was around and he couldn't tell if
anything was off. Zento's feet began to slowly move, bringing him
towards the destination set in the device's GPS. It wasn't long
before the man began to recall everything said back in the
lobby-like room, the most important one to him was his new ability.
He wasn't exactly sure why the group had gained a new
ability, but for now it didn't seem like much of a problem, other
than how suspicious the action was or that it provided no way to
escape back to their peaceful lives.
Admin looked at the pager. "what the..." He looked around the
barren wasteland, confused. "where... am i?" he said. "This...
doesn't look like 2017 London..." He looked at the GPS. "In fact, I
think this is way further back or forward then I've ever been...?"
he jumped up in surprise as the pager started sparking and smoke
started steaming out of the small device.
It only took a few minutes to reach the destination set on
the device, but the steps were almost gruesome. His mind was racing
and he couldn't shake the chills that followed him closely, it felt
almost as if he were in danger. Zento had stopped at a decently
well-kept building, which almost looked like a barn, but more
house-like. It was a slightly gray white topped with a navy blue
roof, making him find it strange that this building was this nice
when there was nothing but destruction and sorrow around. The
feeling of being in this strange situation could be compared to an
odd dream. He cautiously circled around it, hoping to find nothing
out of the ordinary, and ended with nothing. It didn't seem too
dangerous, and it resembled the shelter mentioned by that voice a
while ago. He slowly opened the door to find a modest, but pleasant
room in front of him. It seemed to be a kitchen/dining room hybrid
that could fit a decent amount of people, and further back was a
2-step staircase leading to a moderately sized living-room of
sorts. Furniture was already neatly laid out and seemed to be
sufficient for what they had been tasked with. To the left and
right of the kitchen were two doors, which he assumed were for
living quarters and other rooms. It seemed... Surprisingly nice for
something so random, it was almost unbelievable.
Admin managed to shake the device to wake it, up, and managed to
get to the location the GPS pointed him to, a small barn-like house
place, well kept and tidy. “Hello?” he called out.
The sudden noise scared the man, leading to him jerking his
head towards the noise. He knew that saying something wouldn't be
the smartest idea, since he didn't even know if it was a threat. He
slowly moved his way to the noise, leading him to a younger man
talking to someone else. They both looked oddly familiar, and he
was able to identify them quickly. He had took a quick glance at
them back in that room, so he assumed they were here for the same
reason. Zento immediately stopped his advance towards the two when
a faint scent of smoke alerted him of the odd electricity
surrounding the man in front of him. At this point he had
completely forgotten about the 'abilities' given to the group,
which made him concerned. "Sir, are you ok?" He said gently, but
didn't get any closer.
Gino woke up groggily, blinking
heavily as something beeped on their wrist. Their leg was twisted
awkwardly, and while it wasn't entirely painful it certainly wasn't
comfortable. They pushed themself upwards, sitting back on the
palms of their hands, righting their legs and looking around. This
didn't look like anywhere they remembered from the Fallen City...
though it wasn't any less broken.
They eventually looked down at the beeping device on their wrist,
looking something like a pager but a GPS. Was this something that
Coby had given them that they didn't remember? They noticed that
their communication wristband was still latched to their wrist, and
they smiled, despite knowing that it probably didn't work very well
at the moment. They examined the pager more closely, and noticed
that it looked to be pointing somewhere. Maybe they would find
someone they knew wherever it was leading? There was only one way
to find out.
Struggling to their feet, Gino stood up, their leg straining
against the weight. Favoring the leg that had been twisted as they
arrived, they began to start towards the direction that the
GPS-pager was pointing. As they walked, they could feel the rocks
and gravel beneath their feet, the devastated landscape around them
bringing sorrow to their eyes. How had this happened? Surely
nothing could be so catastrophic to lead to such a devastation.
Shaking their head, they continued walking, when they noticed a
shape in the distance. The GPS was pointing directly at it, so they
started moving faster, hoping to find some kind of clue. Gradually,
the building grew closer, and Gino stood in amazement at the sight.
How had something so... nice-looking ended up out here, in the
middle of somewhere that is nowhere? Just then, they spotted a few
other people near the building as well. They felt as though a
couple of them looked vaguely familiar, and their conversation
sounded friendly, but they couldn't tell whether or not to be wary.
Approaching cautiously, they waved a small 'hello', not yet wanting
to speak up and trying to find a chance to read the group
better.
