Nymphia kept looking, asking her Palisman a question. "See anything Dawn?" she asked the purple cat Palisman. Having adopted her Palisman at a young age (assuming this rp takes place after Hunting palismen, if not just replace that with carving the cat) and had formed a good bond with it, enough to have conversations.

before she could hear an answer from the cat Palisman, she saw the trail of a spell wearing off. Readjusting her emperor's coven bird mask she grabbed hold of her staff and smirked. "Alright, trail caught, Dawn. Let's go!"

Deena's POV

Deena shuddered and cursed silently. Of course, the darned Palisman! Those things were always so perceptive. What to do, what to do? This illusion couldn't last forever! Maybe they could go faster if they just stopped casting it. But... on the other hand... if they were spotted near here, the Coven Scouts would be more prepared. There had to be a way, there had to be something... of course, a distraction! Deena stopped casting the illusion that they were invisible, and cast the largest beast imaginable, a massive griffin hybrid that was extremely destructive! Hopefully, just hopefully, it'd be enough. "Attack them," they whispered. "Attack the Coven Scouts!" It gave a nod, and it came to attack, screeching in that direction... Deena then continued to ride away on their Palisman snake staff. Hopefully, just hopefully, it'd be a good distraction for a while. And then it was time to pull more rabbits out of the hat! Wait, what, rabbits out of the hat? What?

Clerk the Jerk- er- Clark's POV!

Clarke Connor sighed. The teacher was fast asleep, as usual (What was it with Detention Coven teachers and falling asleep?). However, he was most uncertain as to how he'd escape this time! Imagine, him, out of ideas! He sorted through his pocket, for something that might be of use. Perhaps he could break the bars on the windows. However, they were most likely enforced with magic, like last time! Well, it was worth a try. Carefully, he began to construct a makeshift crowbar out of the junk he always carried around in his pocket. He cast an illusion of himself in his chair, and got to work on the bars. COME ONNNNN! But perhaps this wasn't flashy enough... it was simply a stealthy, plain escape. He frowned. How difficult. Aha! He had an idea. He scratched graffiti onto the wall, as the other Detentioners stared in puzzlement and shock. It read "ANOTHER BRILLIANT ESCAPE PULLED BY CLARKE CONNOR, BRILLIANT ILLUSIONIST!" Perfect. He got back to work with the crowbar on the window bars.

May Lakes (Maylee's) POV

The teacher scowled at May. “Young lady, this is the eightieth time you’ve spilled potions in my class this year!” Keeping count, as usual. Her teacher was so strict. “I-I-I’m so sorry, teacher, it won’t happen again!” she stammered. She faceplanted, half out of exhaustion, and half because she didn’t want to look him in the eyes. “That’s what you say EVERY TIME! I swear, Maylee... do you even pay attention in class? You're... collapsing half the time." Suddenly, a look of realization came upon his face. "And you're awfully thin... Maylee, do you get enough sleep at night? Do you get enough to eat? Are you okay?" She was shocked. Her teacher had never expressed concern about her before... "O-Oh- yeah, yeah, of course! I'm just lazy, is all," she half-lied. No, of course she was lazy. And she did get enough sleep at night. But, no, she did not eat enough. But she wasn't about to tell anyone that... what would bullies do, call her a skinny little shrimp? She didn't want more to be mocked for... "I-I'll do better, I promise!" Her teacher stared at her an awfully long time. "Well, alright then, Maylee. But if you mess up one more time..." She gulped. Here it comes. "I'm sending you to the school counselor!" Oh no. No, no, no, no. If he did that, the counselor would get all invasive, her parents would find out... NO! "I-i-it won't happen again! That won't be necessary!" "Well, then. See to it that it won't, Miss Lakes." "Y-Yes, sir." Oh, what an awful day...

Nymphia fired a signal in the sky just incase she needed backup from her fellow scouts. "First rule of Coven scouting 101, Dawn." she spoke, following the spell trail. "Never be ashamed to ask for help-" as she heard a screech, she sighed, getting ready to use a spell circle. "Like I said Dawn. Asking for help before danger is a good idea. Now where is this beast?"

Deena's POV

OH, HOORAY! PERFECT! The Coven Scout was signaling for help! Still... hopefully their distraction would work. Just a few more tricks, and then they'd probably be out of this mess. The beast would keep that Scout busy for a while, but... if she (referring to Nymphia) got help, probably not. Deena closed their eyes as their palisman quickly, and quietly escorted them, slithering along near the ground (but hovering-slithering). Now, just what spell would be a good distraction? Aha, a faraway explosion! That was a classic. But, no. It'd have to be pretty far away to be believable, not to be some witch's spell, after all... it was a miracle the Scout hadn't figured out they'd summoned that beast. Concentrating hard, Deena conjured an explosion in the distance. Couldn't make it an illusion, no... then the Scout's palisman might know...

Clarke's POV (ah whoops I misspelled his name earlier)

He finished sawing through it. Hmm... this was easy. Perhaps too easy. And what to do now that he was out? Perhaps he could sneak back into the school and stir up trouble!! But where to cause it... He found himself looking in the direction of the Bard Coven. He hadn't tormented them in a while! Clarke decided to cast the illusion that all the instruments had come to life, and were screaming at the students. He snickered. PERFECT!!

Maylee's POV

May decided to try stirring her potions again, as instructed, but someone kept rudely poking her in the back. Of course, May was too polite to ask them to stop, and due to this, she was having trouble focusing. They poked her especially hard, and she winced, struggling to stay focused. She almost spilled it again! No, no, no, she couldn't risk that happening!

Neverin halted in his tracks, spotting the bright colors of a coven flare. The spell slowly fizzled out of the air, but the captain had already gathered the general direction in which it came from. Grabbing tight onto his spear, he contemplated his options. It was further from his intended destination, but if it happened to he the beast he was sent to help subdue... shaking his head, Neverin began to dash in the direction of the flare. With any luck it would cut his time on this mission short. Leaping over a large rock and ducking under low branches he dashed through the woods. He was nearly knocked down as a witch whizzed past him on their staff. Neverin was about to give chase to the witch, quite the number of stern words on the tip of his tongue. A load roar dashed any ideas he might have had, and Neverin pursed his lips.

The source of the noise seemed to have come from some griffon-like beast. It was on a rampage, stomping around and carelessly flapping its wings around. Neverin bit back a groan. This could take a while. He readied himself in a fighting stance, drawing a spell circle in the air. He cast a simple illusion spell, designed to disorient the enemy with a flash of light. Without pausing to check if it worked, another spell circle summoned up vines, which began to snake around the beast. The scout captain frowned, trying to keep his mind on the spell. He had trained in bard magic, and he knew only a few spells using the other forms of magic. Plant and construction magic took a lot out of him, so he would prefer to deal with the beast quickly.

Spotting the beast in the distance Nymphia was hoping that the beast wouldn't be too much of a hassle, at least until other scouts arrived to help. Can't she just avoid it? but if she did it would probably make things worse...

Spotting a fellow Emperor's coven, Nymphia cast a spell circle, which sent a shock of lightning at the beast while it was being restrained. Flying past she gave a nod of thanks to the coven captain, before trying to locate the mysterious coven rule breaker again.

Deena's POV

Was that- A CAPTAIN!? Deena winced. It was at times like this they wished they didn't work solo. Almost. Deena shook their head in dismay. Maybe they could just hide. Not like they wouldn't search every nook and cranny, especially if they accidentally let themselves get seen. If they could just get far enough away, perhaps they could mount a disguise... pretend to be a civilian. They flinched at something they saw on a passing tree. It was a wanted poster with their face on it, when their cloak was off. Deena had never been caught before, and thus, was unsure if escape would be easy. What's worse, it seemed the beast had been defeated. They took a deep breath, and conjured a massive plant, rocketing out of the ground, to push them far, far away. Oh, great. That DEFINITELY attracted attention. But now they could make a convincing disguise! Probably... they just needed to come up with something... SOMETHING!!

Clarke's POV

Clarke could now hear all the instruments screaming in high-pitched voices in the Bard class. He cackled mercilessly. NOW this was making illusions! Now, what to do next? Oh, oh!! Onto the Potions Coven...

Maylee's POV

A clumsy, fragile young witchlet, meanwhile, was attempting not to spill her potions for once. Carefully... carefully... ugh, too tired... What the- A CHILD WAS BEING ATTACKED BY A MONSTER OUTSIDE!! May's potions went crashing on her desk, and to the floor. Poof! The child was gone. The monster was gone! Oh no... IT WAS AN ILLUSION? May gulped. "MAY LAAAAAAKES!" the teacher shouted. "Young lady, head to the school counselor right now!" "B-B-But- there was-" The teacher almost hesitated. Maylee never made excuses before. "...NO! Head to the school counselor." May winced, and headed out, hanging her head. Some of the students pointed at her, and snickered to themselves, while she tried to choke back tears. Why? WHY? Why did everything always go so wrong?

Nymphia flew higher, spotting the plant, which gave her a good idea of where the rule breaker was. She hoped she wasn't distracting anyone in Hexside because she knew being able to witness arrest was something amazing, better than work. She kept scanning the floor below her, also asking Dawn to see if she saw anything. Palisman were smart

Oh no, the nightmares again. I looked around and saw the beast. Nearby was a young me, watching terrified from afar. "No! Mommy! Daddy!" Suddenly everything went black and I felt my head jerk up and my mouth taking deep breaths, but I couldn't open my eyes. What is this? A Curse? A Hex? I tried to look around, but all I saw was emptiness. I knew I could see, it was my eyelids themselves that were the issue. It was like they were glued shut. With a sudden motion, I felt my eyelids jerk open and saw that I hadn't exactly been subtle. "Crap." I muttered under my breath.

Deena's POV

Deena spotted a plot-convenient sewer drain, and sighed. Well. It's not like they had any other options. They lifted the drain, slid down, and closed it above them. Unfortunately, with their luck, that stupid Emperor’s Coven would probably catch up quickly. What would they do if they caught them? Send them to prison? Execute them? Petrify them? Maybe force them to join them, at best… Deena frowned as they got off of their Palisman after they got to the bottom. “I… guess I have to walk now,” they muttered. Couldn’t be too loud, they could be right behind them. Although there were many places they could’ve gone, the Palisman might be able to track them. As Deena struggled to conceive a plan, they made their way through the sewer… as quickly, quietly, and cautiously as they could manage.

Maylee’s POV

“May Lakes. One of the students with the worst possible grades at our school. Do you know why you were sent here?” Despite the intimidating words that came from the counselor’s mouth, their voice was calm and friendly. This just scared Maylee even more, consequently. She responded with tense, trembly silence.

The counselor sighed. “May, I can’t help you if you don’t talk. What’s wrong?”

No answer. “If you don’t tell me what’s wrong, I’m contacting your pare-”

“N-n-no! Nononono! Nothing’s wrong!” Maylee stammered. “I’m just- having an off day, that’s all!”

“Your… performance is like this every day, Miss Lakes. With all due respect.”

Nervously, Maylee fidgeted, struggling to come up with something to say. “I- I saw a monster. A monster attacking a child. O-o-outside. But- it was an illusion- and- it vanished with a puff of smoke,” she babbled, as calmly as she could muster.

The school counselor nodded. “And, how do you know you didn’t imagine it?”

“I- I don’t! But- I just- hated it so much, I dropped everything- you have to believe me!” She clutched her hands to her chest, and tears welled from her eyes.

“Oh, Maylee. You know, I think we should contact your parents.”

“P-p-p-lease don’t,” she whimpered softly.

“Sorry?”

“I-I said that’s- n-n-not necessary-”
The counselor sighed. “Like I said, what’s wrooo-”

The words seemed to somehow sound blurry. Oh no, it was happening again- her vision was blurring- EVERYTHING WAS BLURRING! She struggled to stay awake, and- fell unconscious.

Clarke’s POV

Clarke frowned in dissatisfaction. He was hoping for more of a reaction! He wanted chaos! Hey- wait… chaos? He spotted what looked like two Emperor’s Coven members in the distance, chasing after someone… or something… THERE WAS CHAOS! Without a second thought, he darted in the direction of the action.

"Oh come on not the classic sewer escape." Nymphia muttered as she came to a stop by the sewer. Dawn detached herself from the staff and looked inside the sewers, waiting for commands.

"I guess you can go on ahead." Nymphia answered, watching her Palisman nod and run off. Nymphia struggled to do much with her staff, after all she can't fly for a while. But she could try going through the sewers, which was not the best option. But hey she might have to do it.

Toshiko waved to them. "Welcome to the loser's brigade!" she called. "Hope you enjoy your stay~" She laughed at that, as if it weren't the stupidest insult on the face of the Earth. "Come on, sit next to me!" The blue-haired girl patted the desk next to theirs. "You know you want to~"

Brooksook didn't understand anything about music. To be more clear, she didn't understand anything. What was reading music? What was that insidious rhyme that told you notes or something? What was that long rant that her teacher had gone on several hours ago?

And now, with this large accumulation of total incompetence, she was expected to infuse magic into her own composition.

She was currently sulking.

Why was she stuck in this class? Why couldn't she have gotten something easy, something that didn't require the terrible word known as "effort"? Why couldn't her parents accept that all she wanted out of life was to stay afloat as the incompetent lump she was and never develop or grow as a person?

Brooksook sighed. The person sitting next to her had left. The only thing that she could do was sit here. Bored. Confused. Frustrated. Why couldn't something exciting happen? Why couldn't she like, go to an exciting coven, get magically transported to an exciting world, and make friends with people who knew nothing about her and always accepted and bowed to her whims?

She thumped her head into her desk.
