His eyes rolled back in his sockets.

Kaden's skin paled.

And he collapsed.

It seemed to go in slow motion.

His mouth opening to scream.

His head hitting the floor.

"Holy-" Adrik yelped as Kaden slumped to the floor. He lunged to catch him, and narrowly did, instantly sinking under the taller one's weight. "Help-!" he choked. "Help! Somebody?"

Isla glanced at the both of them. Her eyes narrowed... but she kneeled down and pulled Adrik off him. Adrik blinked, then fell to his knees and wrapped his arms around Kaden. "Kaden!" he said urgently. "Are you alright?"

Isla cast one last glance at the two of them, then her jaw slackened. She reached for Kaden- retracted her arm, then stepped away from the two, before hurriedly leaving the room.

Adrik studied Kaden's face. Is he unconscious? he wondered.

Adrik felt the blade, and his eyes widened. What can I do? I don't know magic- especially healing magic- I- my magic- His hands were shaking.
