Kendall stood around awkwardly with a sigh. He leaned
against the wall and just watched everybody. It's too bad he had no
one he really wanted to go with for Valentine's Day, but- love was
just kind of awkward anyway. And messy. And complicated. And
something really difficult to deal with. Still, it felt kind of...
depressing to have no one to go with. Oh well. He felt like SUCH A
WEIRD STALKER JUST WATCHING EVERYBODY!! He wanted to go and talk to
somebody, but- NO. Too awkward. Plus, he didn't want to disturb the
couples. Ah, great. What a dilemma...
Katie's POV
Katie, who couldn't seem to take a hint, immediately
waltzed up to Seara and Grimm. "HIIIIII PEOPLE!! This is a great
day, isn't it? Wow, you two are such great buddies! And great
dancers!" she squealed, jumping up and down.
Gisela's POV
Gisela watched Seara and Grimm dancing from a distance, and
she snickered to herself. Oh boy. Perfect opportunity! She always
loved watching sorry saps on Valentine's Day getting all- ugh-
gooey and romantic and- someone, fetch me a basin before I
vomit. No, no. What she loved was ruining it! And honestly,
that- that overly-colorful overenergetic weirdo was getting
annoying. She smirked and wrote in her notebook, Seara trips and
falls while they're dancing and Grimm doesn't catch them. Also,
Katie trips over her feet and faceplants on the floor.
Perfect.
Katie's POV
Katie tumbled to the floor and faceplanted. "Whoa!
I'munusuallytumblytoday!" she mumbled. "Ow."
Kendall's eyes widened. "O-Oh! Hey- friend. I mean- Ai Li.
Right- names, and- stuff. Haha." WHY DID I SAY THAT!? WHY-
He laughed nervously. "So- Ai Li- uh- are you... going with anyone
for Valentines' Day? Curiosity, you know. That thing." Wow. I'm-
the greatest small talker ever. Way to go, Kendall. "And- are-
you watching them too? Just asking. I don't know. You said- I was-
watching them. You know, that." His foot tapped nervously atop his
other foot, and he anxiously avoided eye contact. Because it was
weird. And awkward. And- well- he heard it, but he wasn't sure it
was true- eye contact was impolite for- Ai Li's people, right? OH
NO WHAT IF IT WASN'T?! He tried not to show how fidgety he was, and
was failing miserably.
(Regarding Gisela and Katie, I think I'll wait for Grimm
and Seara to respond)
Kendall paused, "It- is. It's- really... great," he
whispered. "It's a work of art. I always... I've always been more
interested in- you know- painting, and- photography. But I guess...
music is- really great too. There really are- all kinds of art,
huh?" He had a faraway look in his eyes, getting lost in
thought.
"Same goes for me," Adrik said quietly. "Thanks... for earlier." He
deliberately avoided his eyes. "It's... strange to me. How you seem
not to care for so many people's opinions."

"I... don't know. You just... when someone hurts you... you stand
up for yourself. You get mad at them." He shook his head slightly.
"I've never been able to do that. I never thought I wanted
to. Until... I met you. I can't figure it out." He trailed off.
Are my words making sense?
"Well... I just mean, that I admire you... for it. And I want to be
try. Maybe. By standing up for you. Like you've done for me."

Adrik snorted, but he looked happy. "You're so stupid sometimes."
He blinked, then quickly said, "In a good way, I mean. Just...
Ahahah..." he laughed. "Ah..."
