Pyro Power The Subject has the ability to morph fire to their will. However they cannot yet control the amount that is produced. At one moment it may just be a small flame, but other times they can produce massive fires. Digit code starts with a F-.
Aqua Power The Subject has the ability to bend water to their will. Like Pyros, the amount that is produced is uncertain. Digit code starts with an A-.
Whisper Power The Subject can befriend nearly any creature or animal. However they are very forgetful and often forget which animals they befriended. Digit code starts with a W-.
Earth Power The Subject can morph the ground to their will. However they almost never seem to be able to go small scale- they always make things double the size desired. Digit code starts with an E-.
Thunder Power The Subject can bend electricity to their own will, making them great for hacking. However they seem to always short-circuit any electric device they are within close proximity to, even when they don’t want to. Digit code starts with a T-.
Darkness Power The Subject can bend and hide in the shadows. However they get hurt while in direct sunlight without a shadow to hide in. Digit code starts with a D-.
Mind Power The Subject has an enhanced mind and are very good at decision making. They do, however, take quite some time to do so. Digit code starts with a M-.
Cold Power The Subject can create ice and cool down things. The ice, however, melts very quickly unless it’s snowing. Digit code starts with a C-.
X-ray Power The Subject has enhanced vision and can see through walls. However they are nearly deaf and find it hard to hear. Digit code starts with a X-.
Hearing Power The Subject has enhanced hearing and can hear even the smallest and farthest noises. However they are nearly blind and find it hard to see. Digit code starts with a H-.

The Scientists [colored as white] Your everyday scientists at the labcraft. Do jobs such as preform tests, create prototypes, work on finalizing prototypes, and even keep a close eye (and ear) on the subjects. Most are very gentle with the subjects, and will do their very best at soothing weary staff and subjects. Often say that these actions are justified by their purpose. If only the subjects would listen...

The Three Super Soldiers [colored as their respective colors] Three powerful employees at the labcraft. Their main goal is to subdue and control any of the subjects that seem to get wild and out of the control of main scientists in the area. The three each have their own method of doing so. One of physical force, one of mental force, and one of calming force. The three use their different methods in harmony, each looking out for the weakness of another.

Tatakai (Super Soldier 1) [colored as red] The largest of the three, Tatakai loves the thrill of a fight, and will often use anything and everything he can find as his punching bag when he’s bored. However, if the task seems quite large and dangerous, he will show some signs of fear. His heart is very soft outside of battle with any creature or person, sometimes even wandering into the cellroom to cheer up the subjects.

Shu (Super Soldier 2) [colored as yellow] The smartest of the three, he focuses on finding the weak spots of whatever he fights, but prefers not to engage in physical combat. Instead he uses his seemingly blinding speed to confuse or exhaust his foe. His quick noticing of these weaknesses also makes him a great engineer and repairer. Since he often sits on the sidelines of a fight, some may even mistake him for an actual repairman if it wasn’t for his unique appearance! He’s very strict and harsh, and often will keep the team in order, which may be why they have become so successful as a group.

Oshamizu (Super Soldier 3) [colored as light blue] The youngest of the three, Oshamizu believes fighting is not ethical for their impression on the subjects. Instead she will try to soothe the subject, as most of the escapees in her experience were frightened or confused. She will, however, fight when deemed necessary, (i.e. a battle not against any of the subjects) and she does it well for her age. She mostly takes her (rarely-needed) strategy from Super Soldier 2, looking for a weak spot of the opponent, but instead of using nimble speed to bamboozle the opponent, she jumps in with multiple, speedy strikes to overwhelm the foe. Outside battle, she is nearly her same, pacifist self, calming down the weary-minded, and helping those that are caught in the middle of the fray.

So basically, her best friend (a moth named Silk) had joined the Grimm Troupe (I'd explain what this is but I don't want to type a whole essay on Hollow Knight lore) when she and Iris were younger and eventually became a skilled mage. Eventually, Silk (for reasons currently unknown) cut ties with the Grimm Troupe, and Iris did the same, and the two of them have been on the run for a while now. A few days after the two arrived in Hallownest, Silk began showing early signs of the infection, which had grown worse over time, and Iris was eventually forced to kill her friend once she had become essentially a zombie. After that incident, she decided to stay in Dirtmouth for the time being (occasionally leaving to pay respects to Silk). Fast forward to after the events of the game, Iris had mostly kept out of Dirtmouth ever since she learned of the Grimm Troupe arriving there, and had soon begun traveling with a group of bugs, partially because she wanted to have someone who was close to her again
