Avari shook her head. "Tazu. That's your name. So, Tazu, that was Ephina. Your wife. You disappeared ten years ago into the forest, and now you've shown up again. You have no memory of who you were or who anybody else is. That's why she was so upset." Setting some of her weight on a table, Avari watched the man. Gerrin, however, was more than happy to lick Olya's hand and let her pet him, as he usually was with strangers who didn't reek of alcohol.

“Oh, right,” Olya was sitting on the floor now, scratching Gerrin under his chin and from behind his ears.
“I’m Olya. I recently started working here. You?” Olya’s usual cheer was absent. She couldn’t help but feel sorrow for her boss.

"I..I have a wife?" Tazu stared at his hands or appeared to at least. "What happened to me?" He sighed and leaned back in the chair. "If only I knew.." He tried to get up and approached one of the tables. He dipped his head, gently holding one of the bottles. "I know this plant.." The tiny herb seemed to absorb his attention, and he stood in front of the table like a tall statue.

"Avari. Nice to meet you." Glaring at Gerrin, Avari glanced to Tazu. Gerrin seemed to stick out his tongue a bit, then quickly returned his attention to Olya. Peering carefully at the herb, Avari shook her head. She didn't know the plant.

Tazu stood still, before replacing the herb in the jar. "Should I talk to her? What should I do?" He backed into the chair, grunting as he hit it. Using his fingers to feel the top, he sat down again, head in his hands. "I wish I knew what happened..."



Meanwhile, there was a loud shout. "MESSENGER BOY! COME HERE!"

"Explain to her everything that you know. I'm sure we'll be able to figure out what happened. Err... You don't have any memory of what.. Dragged you away.. Do you..?" Her voice was slow, then. Careful. She clearly wanted to find out, but she didn't want to make Tazu feel like it was too important. It was, of course. But she didn't want to stress the man out.

Tazu hesitated. "All I remember before waking up is a few flashes. Swords clashing, a loud roar, a screaming woman, and a smiling child. That's all I remember, the rest is a black void like my sight." He sighed. "I'll try and talk to her." Standing up, he hesitated again. "Where did she go?"

Tazu tried his best to make his way around the room, skirting the table. He bumped against the door and found the handle. Slipping inside, he stood in front of Ephina, who was sitting on a box sobbing into her hands. When she realized that he was there, she stood and went to leave, but Tazu stopped her. "Ephina, was it? I think I need to talk to you." Sitting her back down, he sat down as well, still towering over her.



Ichon threw open the door, red faced and bellowing. "MESSENGER BOY! WHERE ARE YOU?" Serena gulped. "I think e's talking to ya."

Olya turned to Avari "Well.. what do you think happened to him out there?" The question was mostly to keep an awkward silence at bay. It felt much too quite now that it was just the two of them (three if you count Gerrin) in the room.

Avari ran a hand down her shirt, smoothing it out a bit. "I believe Ephi's story. I think something grabbed him. He did say that he remembered swords and roaring, the screaming woman might have been Ephina. However, the smiling child might be difficult to figure out. Swords and roaring appeal to a few stories. An enemy, a beast.. It's really a mystery. But if we can solve it, I'm all for trying. Ephina deserves her husband back. And he deserves his memory." She had absently started to mess with a lock of her hair, twirling it around her finger.

"Right... " Olya was silent for a moment before going on, "I say this isn't anything to be sad over at all. He's back and not dead... and he remembers the plants! I think.. I think we can restore his memory." Olya's usual pep was back as she looked on with hope.

After about an hour, the two of them came out. "Right.." Tazu sighed. "I know a little more. Aparently, I was a knight before whatever happend. I had told Ephina that someone was after me, because of," Tazu paused, "Well, I didn't tell Ephina." It's most likely they're the ones who took me, and my eyesight." Ephina spoke up. "I've tried reminding him of anything, our children, his work, but nothing seems to click. I've had little experience with amnesia, which is what I think he's suffering from. So, it could be a while before it all comes back."

Olya's gaze fell in their direction. "He remembers some of the plants," she suggested. A fact that she seemed to be pinned on. Olya was still petting the fox, who she decided, she liked a lot.

Tazu scratched the back of his neck, and Ephina coughed. "Not exactly. That plant is rather common in the forest, but," they exchanged glances. "It did trigger a memory about when we met. That's all." Ephina moved away, sitting on the windowsill. "Oh, I almost forgot! When I went out to get plants from my garden, I heard some talking. Aparently, the kingdom Grym has been sending emmisaries, and not for a good reason."

Ephina leaned her head against the window. "Well, it may be just gossip, but aparently their king has been trying to get King Sirius to hand over the kingdom. And his grandfather is the one who first raised the Dragon of the Ruby's Evil, the legendary vreautre of evil."

"There you are. The officals want you to take a message to the king. You'll deliver it to the guards outside. And be quick about it, alright?"

Ichon glared at Serena, muttering, "Well, I can say it here because it's just you and this ignorant girl." He leaned forward, muttering, "This is the message. Stay strong, my king. The soldiers are closing in, and we are all in danger, especially you."
