Sorry but, I don't support.

If it is a person's birthday, they can just mention it through their feeds. I don't see any purpose for the extra information on a person's profile when they can do that.

No support. If I wanted my age to be posted publicly, I'd post it there myself (In my about me, in my diary, in my feeds, in my signature, or wherever else I wanted it to be seen...)

I rather like not knowing what everyone else's age is, so that I don't hold high expectations of them.

I personally don't mind people seeing my birthday, but other people wouldn't want to display their birthday publicly. I have to say no support on this one.
You can put your birth date in your About Me, and in your diary (If you have one).
And you can always make a feed.
