i dont know but for me its either sword/shield or black 2/white 2.
sword and shields story, graphics and stuff just isnt good but it
can be fun. black 2/ white 2 just feel completely different from
black/white. like the region looks so different somehow.
I would say Black/White cuz of the Dex thing, but it feels fun to
be forced to really admire and enjoy the large amount of new mons,
instead of having half your team from Kanto. Because of that, I
would say DP. The plot seems a bit heavy, and the pokemon arent as
fun to battle with, not to mention the whole Dex problem there that
actually affects the game a lot because of the fact that, unlike
BW, they didn't add a lot of new mons to compensate.
I've played up to Gen VII, and my answer is what I like to call
Generation Beta. That is, the original Red and Green games. They're
just the Red and Blue we all know, only pretty much objectively
worse.
red/blue is absolutely awful but that's a given because it's such
an old game - it just doesn't hold up by today's standards. i got
red when it came out on the 3ds virtual console thing (back a few
years ago) and i've never even managed to make myself get past the
third gym lmao it's unbelievably boring
omega ruby and alpha sapphire are also terrible, the story is
practically non-existent until the very end, and even then, team
magma/aqua aren't enough to make it interesting anyway. although i
do think they're some of the better teams in pokemon. both the
rivals are terrible (brendan/may having zero personality and wally
only even being seen about two or three times)
also the variety in pokemon is terrible, every route felt like it
only ever had zigzagoon and wingull on it. apart from caves which
only ever had geodude. or/as was the first pokemon game that took
me actual months to beat because i simply didn't wanna play it
