“Y-Yeah, I’ll try to rest.” Riah murmured, his ear twitching as the
Torracat padded away. The Pikachu coughed, fixing his face to look
more confident and smiling. His eyes shone with newfound confidence
as he approached the Torracat. “Hey, we’re all gonna be alright,”
Riah’s gaze was caring, gleaming with warmth. “You look like you’ve
been through a lot,” He paused for a moment, giving her a
considerate look. “What’s your story?” He finished, sitting next to
her.
Helda scoffed. "What makes you think I trust you enough to tell
you?" She edged away from him, ever so slightly. She also made sure
that, should the Pikachu attack, her paw could grab a knife and
have it at his throat in a split second. "And no, we won't be
alright. These battles will leave scars."
“Scars show how we tried, and how we succeeded.” Riah continued to
smile, looking forwards into the trees. He didn’t look scared, even
though he knew he could be killed by her in moments. “If we’re
gonna fight together, we should at least try to be friends.” He
muttered, avoiding her gaze still.
Helda let out a barking laugh that echoed through the camp. "Oh
yes. Friends are the solution to everything, right? Any
problem can be solved by holding hands and standing in a circle."
She knew she was being annoying, but didn't care. Maybe if she
showed the annoying side of herself, she wouldn't make friends,
which would be better for everyone.
“The power of friendship wont get us anywhere,” Riah muttered, his
tone turning more dire as his face darkened. “It’s the power those
friends have that will lead us to victory.” He glanced at her
injured paw, looking up and finally meeting her gaze. “Am I wrong?”
Emery’s was looking increasingly uncomfortable as he heard the
conversation. Sure he believed in that...he wanted to believe in
that...but...it wasn’t the case most of the time. It does
help...but everyone still has to mutually cooperate...friendship
helps that fact. But friends can still disagree
Even so, he wanted to assure Riah that it'll be fine
Helda looked into his green eyes. Their eyes were rather similar,
actually, though hers were much harder and colder. "Yes, you're
wrong. Friends ruin you. Make you weak. You say you need the power
of friends? That means you're not strong enough to defend
yourself," she pointed out. This was what she had believed for most
of her life, so she had no problem explaining it.
“Think of us as your teammates,” Riah insisted, his gaze bordering
desperate as he watched the Torracat. “I’m Riah, your new
teammate.” He didn’t wait for an answer and stood up. He gave her a
final glance, his expression unreadable as he gently walked away.
Helda sat there, thinking of about that. She noted that they were
being watched the entire time, but decided not to say anything. She
didn't work in a 'team', but perhaps she could count people as
'allies'. That way, she didn't have to be friends with any of them,
but could still rely on them to do certain things. With a slight
nod, she continued staring at the sky, wondering if it was even
possible to counts the stars.
Emerald tore his eyes away from the conversation. He hoped he could
talk to Riah later...
He went and sat back next to Beth. "So um...what have you been
doing before you found us?" He smiled and leaned on her
"T-That's fair enough..." He murmured. "But wouldn't it be fun to
try?" He giggled lightly as he wobbled the bubble. He knew they
should be getting to sleep soon but...he was having a bit too much
fun
The Mewtwo was uncertainly doing so, upon Opal's encouragement. His
feet never left the bubble though. He felt more comfortable with it
when it was just Fortem and Emerald but....
This Mew was willing to show quite a bit of love...and he wanted to
indulge him, if it made him happy
