Helda had been asleep as the battle had taken place. She hadn't
meant to doze off - she didn't realise she was that tired. As she
woke, she was rather surprised to see the ground below her in
ruins. She lept off, guessing that there had been a battle, and
peeked inside the tent that everyone else was in. They appeared to
be having fun. Fun. The word had lost it's happiness to her.
Fun makes people weak, unprepared. So she sat in the middle
of the camp, staring at the sky.
His eyes slowly opened. “Meteors...” Riah whispered quietly, his
eyes clouding with worry. He flopped onto the grass beneath him and
starting tugging at it. Stress weighed on him like a Cosmoem, a
frown across his face as he stared at the ground.
Emerald knocked Beth over on the bubble giggling. “Then he’s a
faceful pf pink bubble!”
He then looked at Riah and started comforting the Pikachu. “It’ll
be ok...we’re...finding things to solve it. Let’s believe we can do
it, alright?”
Helda rolled her eyes. The Pikachu was being far too dramatic, and
the Riolu far too optimistic. There was a chance they would never
get back. "Or," she prowled over to them, "You could belive
we will never do it. It's a far more likely outcome." She shrugged,
sitting.
He sat up, his facial expression becoming more serious. “What
progress have you made?” He ignored Helda’s comment, his gaze
resting firmly on Emerald as his gaze remained grim.
"4 of the instruments..." Emerald murmured. "So far we've been
exploring the temples down here and effectively just...looking for
things to help us. With the documents that we find and that Mewtwo
has been translating for us, I think we'll have some sort of weapon
to fight the meteors soon..." He continued. "It's just a matter of
how we're going to use it..." He looked at the incomplete amulet
"T-Though, Riah. I think we're gonna have to start moving tomorrow,
maybe it's in the best interest to get some rest?" Emerald
suggested. "Mewtwo and Opal have been kind enough to make beds for
us..." He waved a paw to the bubbles
Helda glared at Riah. She disliked being ignored. She snorted a
little at Emerald's comment about 'Fighting the Meteors', and said,
"Oh yes. Because fighting Meteors makes perfect sense." She
thought for a second, before adding, "And what kind of weapon would
it be? A giant tennis racket?"
"Well, as long as you're trying," she snapped in an overly
sarcastic voice. With a slight 'Hmph', she got up and strode away,
her half-paw looking slightly awkward. She sat at the edge of camp,
listening to the birds, her tail sweeping the ground behind her.
